Fog Dude
Hoo boy. The results were in the original post last night, and the table was updated not long after. But of course, over the weekend an unfortunate incident had already had a profound effect on our little competition. (BTW, the 'incident' referred to is merely the act of posting; here's not the place to speculate whether it was an unwitting confession or just an ill-advised revelation of a sick fantasy - the mods have made their decision). Therefore, our ex-champ the former wbzuk appears in the standings only for statistical purposes this week, but assuming he remains banned, our speed camera-loving acquaintance will be gone in the next update without having to go through the usual formality of missing 3 rounds in a row. So it looks like it's between hbk4life and Lawz now then, with the former still ahead on most exact scores which is why I indulged in some crude colour-swapping just moments before uploading yesterday. Little movement due to low scoring this week, as nobody managed double figures. Not much of a race on at the bottom either, where sivy remains stranded, but at least he was only joint lowest scorer with brownie this time out. The principal causes of that low scoring seemed to be Arsenal's failure to hold on at Orient and Bolton's two narrow away wins in the space of under 5 days, which I think stumped everybody. Close behind were Boro's win at the New Den - which we almost lost due to abandonment, and not because of the weather - and the scoreline at Old Trafford, which no-one thought would be so close, though all participants picked up the obvious 1 point from it. Most also got the result from the Boleyn right without foreseeing the high winning margin, but the home victories at St Andrews and the Britannia were better for 3-pointers, along with the draw at Portman Road. As for the Belgian results? Well I didn't get either right, so let's just say they were a mixed bag. A note on games that didn't make it onto the card: there are clearly too many Old Firm derbies in any given season when for the second time this month, I don't notice one's due to take place until after it's happened! New set of 10 coming up in about an hour then, in what would've been, as fate would have it, Gatso's turn at D2D.
