NorthSeaTiger Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 As the title suggests, anyone ever really wanted to give their Boss/Line Manager etc a good slap? Â Long story short.....i work offshore in catering. My Catering Manager is a miserable old git of nearly 60, Ex Army, been with company for nearly 25 years. I work nights so have the majority of the food prep to do as well as all the cleaning as we have a small crew. No problems so far....except he is a collosal douchbag. NOTHING i do is good enough, i sometimes get told to slow down how much i am doing then the next day get asked what i am doing as there wasn't as much done as the previous night. He has a go at me for leaving dirty dishes in the sink, even if i am on my way to put the clean ones away. And he over-reacts to the smallest thing. This morning, i shit you not, he went on a long rant about the cleanliness of the Galley.......all because i left a jug of water on the table where he was working!! That was it, no blood from butchery, spills etc..A JUG OF WATER!! Which resulted in me getting bollocked for close to 20 mins. And i am just left standing there like a prick. Â Trouble is, if i answer him back, which most normal people do when asked a question, then i am told not to answer back?!?!? And anytime i do get through to him he just makes a joke out of it meaning i never know when he is being serious!! Â Fucking twat. Â Anyway sorry about the rant, have had a bad morning.. Â Over to you guys.......
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 19, 2011 Awards Moderator Posted January 19, 2011 Yes. Â My place used to be run by about 5 or so people, and it was successful - made money, kept visitors happy, etc. Then the new regime came in. There are now approximately 20 managers, all of whom act like they're running some massive corporate entity (they're not) and they've completely killed any love I once had for working there. I won't go on because it's early and you shouldn't start the day angry. Â My direct manager is essentially 'The Brand' from The Apprentice. Except he'll never get fired.
Paid Members neil's bitch Posted January 19, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 19, 2011 My very first proper full time boss was a very short man (and im only 5 '11ish) who had some really bad temper issues. I felt like lamping him a good few times. Â The worst was that one time i was very badly ill, (spending the day on the ole throne), and when i got back to work i got bollocked for being ill, being told "We have a toilet here, so next time....DONT DO IT". I then took some other days off later in the year, to which i apologised (even though if your really ill....you are ill), and as punishment for being ill i had to clean the whole factory on my own. This was follwed by an annual 5 min bollocking every 15 mins or so. I then proceeded to enjoy the work, and do it with a massive smile on my face just to piss him off. Â Later he made some crazy jokes about black people, and although im a white guy im not particularly fond of racism, and my step dad and two sisters are black, so i didnt appreciated it. He apologised after about an hour when he realised this........but i just left and didnt return. I got a bomb load of money from them though, and took it to the relevent port of call to get him done for it. it ended up that he got away with it, but i hope he gets battered one day the little twat.

thejeffjarrettone Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I had a right cunt of a line manager when I worked in a warehouse a few years ago. First day, he tells me "Even if the cans are dented, you still take the labels off and send them through processing". So, off I went, taking the labels off and sending them all along. Next day, I went in for my shift and he says to me "You have to do yesterdays lot again, you sent dented cans through." "You told me to send dented cans through", I said. "Oh, we can't use dented cans". He then took me to the shift manager and said "I don't want him on my rota, he's disobedient and rude". I explained my side and the manager said I could stay on days. I stayed there for a few months, but then he starts saying the same thing to other people, including this Polish girl I was quite keen on, but I just ignored it and carried on with my job. Then, half way through a shift, while working on the labels again with the exact same instructions from the exact same person, he shouts down the line at me "ARE YOU DOING THIS TO PISS ME OFF OR ARE YOU TOO FUCKING THICK TO UNDERSTAND MY INSTRUCTIONS?!?" It was at this point I told him to fuck himself and walked out.
Paid Members SiMania Posted January 19, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 19, 2011 Nah, my boss is sound, and I don't beat up women. Or men to be honest.
Paid Members CleetusVanDamme Posted January 19, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 19, 2011 No chance, my boss is a legend, top man!. I suppose it helps that he's fucking solid, and could probably deck me with one punch as well mind.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted January 19, 2011 Moderators Posted January 19, 2011 I've only met my boss about 5 times, but she gave me a good performance rating so I'm happy.
Smegma Cake Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Not exactly my boss, but my supervisor was an absolute cunt of a lass. Four years younger than me, but had been shagging her way to the top. She's now a General Manager. I've never wanted to hit a female so badly in my 26 years on this earth. I left that job because I couldn't stand her and I knew I'd get sacked anyway because I had snapped and had full blown arguments with her in front of customers multiple times. Â The funny thing is, I'm probably welcome back anytime and I'm out of work right now, but unless she quits or gets another job somewhere else, I couldn't even consider it. Â Every other boss I've had has been great.

Kata Ha Jime Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 My first job I had about 3 bosses, Store Manager, Sunday Manager and Menswear Manager. Â Store Manager - No problems. Menswear Manager - Never did any work, but still, no problems. Sunday Manager - Big problem. Â Now this os only BHS and I worked there for a year. Over time I made friends with pretty much everyone and it became quite fun until BHS started pushing credit cards (in a recession, good work) and I was bollocked in front of customers for not selling them, however anyone else that didn't no problems. My Sunday Manager was the worst manager I've had, she'd tell me to do something then if our Store Manager came down to ask what I was doing she'd bollock me for not doing as I was asked. I complained about her and she blamed my attitude or sarcasm and said I couldn't take a joke, So for a long time I took a joke, laughing at everything she said, sometimes bursting in to fits of laughter.
