Going back to when he was at Livi, McNamee was a cracking full back. Whether or not he can stay fit AND rediscover that form is the big question.

I obviously hope he can rediscover that form. Young Ryan Jacks development is being ruined by him playing in such a poor side. Same can be said for Clark Robertson - so an experienced left back is required too.

You could go for our other full back of the time Jamie McAllister... Actually, think you guys hated him when he was there before. Forget that,

I must admit, he was pretty shite when he played for us.

Yep, he was fucking awful for us. His only memorable moment being fighting with Phil McGuire during yet another crushing defeat by Celtic.

Still McAllister has a cup winners medal and Scotland cap, more than most of your squad at that time can say! Incidentally, in his first game for Livi (a friendly) he was slated after a short pass back gave away a goal. Still, won us over with a goal against Hibs in the cup final.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that former Arsenal and Sweden midfielder Freddie Ljungberg will undergo a trial this week.

Ljungberg, who has spent the last 18 months playing in the USA with Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire arrives in Glasgow on Sunday night.

"He's coming in and he'll have a look at us," said Lennon. "We think he's got great calibre.

"He's been a world-class player for a long time."

Ljungberg left West Ham in 2008 after an agreement was reached to terminate his contract.

The Swede, 33, had considered retiring from football before agreeing a lucrative deal with Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders that ended with a switch to Chicago Fire in July.

Lennon believes Ljungberg could introduce an element of experience to his Celtic side, especially since South Korean duo Ki Sung-Yeung and Ch Du-Ri will be absent for several weeks at the Asian Cup.

"Freddie had injury problems at West Ham, but he's played over 50 games in the last 18 months in America," said Lennon.

"His agent contacted us, and we like the idea of it - because he's got a bit of experience.

"He's got the quality, so he's coming in for a couple of days and if we like each other, we might be able to get a deal done.

"It's a bit of personality, and a bit of character - but, above all that, he'll bring a bit of quality as well."

Not since about 2005.

Celtic don't even need Freddie anyway, I don't even think he would add anything to the team other than a big wage bill and will probably miss half the season with injuries (forget his injury free record in the states where its a stroll in the park league...where as he will have a much more physical challenge in the scottish league.)

Got lots of respect for what he did with us....but he was finished even in our last season at the top level so doubt 5 years on he will add any value. Celtic could do much better IMO.
