Super Cena
I may be wrong here, but I'm sure one of the reasons that there's no sub-forums here is because it would be difficult to draw the line on what would be alloted it's own section. Football, films, games etc. Â I wouldn't go on a MMA forum and start posting threads about wrestling.
Ross
Ah well whatever...if everyone is happy with it I'm not complaining. Was just curious of the reasons behind it. Â Just would be a shame to send quality posters who primarily discuss MMA but also wrestling to other forums.
Super Cena
I understand your point, but after Sickipedia for my daily jokes, Facebook for a quick check-up, Youporn for a cheeky Bret Screwed Bret, I come on here. I'm sure if I was into mma, it wouldn't stop me posting on here! Â Anyway, I don't wanna ruin this thread so I'll let you get on with it x
Magnum Milano
Im looking forward to seeing Ben Askren in action, Bellator should be awesome! Someone who I trade DVDs with is sending me The Patriot Act shows that feature Askrens first two MMA fights and I am really looking forward to seeing them. On a similar vein, the discs that I sent him included some Cage Warriors TV from the old TWC channel that had some Jim Wallhead (aswell as early Daley, Hardy and even Bigfoot Silva fighting on them). David
Starting to stretch the boundaries of these MMA threads. Indeed. Â Hotbeds of discussion such as "WWE CONSIPRACY - Stephanie McMahon", "Guess who these guys are game" and "The Stupid Wrestling GIF thread" are in danger of being snowed under by the MMA threads. Â You haven't flexed your mod muscle for a while Neil. Maybe nows the time to start? Especially since your attempts at humour aren't exactly setting the forum alight. FUM
Can't believe people are so sad that they're moaning about seeing an MMA thread on a forum? Does it affect your daily life? It's a forum, what does it matter to you. If I don't like the look of a thread, I don't open it. Â Back on-topic, I never knew anything about this but I'm getting quite excited about it now that you've mentioned it. Have any of the guys from Season 1 gone on to much success? Paid Members Egg Shen Posted March 13, 2010 Author Paid Members Share Posted March 13, 2010 Eddie Alvarez is probably the most famous fighter from Season 1, he won the 155 tournament but was a big name before he fought in Bellator. He's ranked #3 in the world on most lists.  The Bellator champions are all going to defend their title against the winners of these tournaments....they'll also be involved in non-title superfight throughout the season. Alvarez is fighting UFC vet. Josh Neer, that's the first one announced.  The other champions are:  145: Joe Soto 170: Lyman Good 185: Hector Lombard  Bellator unearthed some great talent in Season 1. Moderators neil Posted March 13, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 13, 2010 Starting to stretch the boundaries of these MMA threads. Indeed. Â You haven't flexed your mod muscle for a while Neil. Maybe nows the time to start? Especially since your attempts at humour aren't exactly setting the forum alight. Doesn't matter what wrestling threads there are because this is a wrestling forum afterall. The higher the number of single MMA threads on here the more people will moan. I'm sure Ebb remembers the lengthy arguing that went on before with this, and the agreed upon solution was to restrict the number of MMA threads. Â It is not the UKFF's style to create numerous subforums. There were a number of years with no off-topic forum or events forum. The chances of getting a MMA subforum are very very low. Â And my humour is alive an well thanks. 3rd place last year
David
The reason that the amount of MMA threads are growing is because we have more quality MMA promotions putting on more cards these days. Â Saying that, I understand that this is a wrestling forum, and agree that some sort of criteria has to apply. Maybe limiting the single threads to the top three promotions, which would be the UFC, WEC and Strikeforce? Â Everything else could go into the single MMA news thread? Â Also, your humour is rubbish
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted March 13, 2010 Author Paid Members Share Posted March 13, 2010 there is 26 threads on the 1st page at the moment, 4 are MMA related, it aint exactly hogging the board is it.

Ross
Just to confirm where I stand in case I'm being misunderstood. I'm not complaining at all about MMA threads, I don't mind them being on the main forum whatsoever. Â What I meant was, for the people who do seem to mind then it would surely be better for the posts to be in their own sub-forum. Then people who didn't want to read MMA stuff could choose not to and the regular MMA posters wouldn't feel like they had to watch how much MMA stuff they were posting. Nothing I said was aimed at you mate, so I hope it didn't seem that way. Â The powers that be don't seem keen on having an MMA sub-forum, no matter how much sense it makes, so there's no point in suggesting it. Sam-BFP
Jimmy Wallhead is very good, easily good enough for the UFC. Â He had been offered fights in the UFC but not under very good terms, so hes turned them down. Â He is also a bit "unlucky" that 2 of his "stable" mates in Daley and Hardy are already there. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted March 14, 2010 Author Paid Members Share Posted March 14, 2010 been hearing about Wallhead for a while, never actually seen him fight though. He could make a huge name for himself if he wins this.
