Paid Members mim731 Posted February 1, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2017 You seem to have omitted I'm the One by The Descendants which was on there at least once an hour.
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted February 1, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2017 Sometimes they'd throw a NoFX video on as well. Either Leave It Alone or Stickin' In My Eye.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 1, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2017 They were some strange times. Obviously music channels boomed before youtube and streaming kicked off so there were times when we'd sit around all day and just skim the music channels. It always felt like the same videos playing over and over and it made me resent a lot of music at the time because it just felt overplayed. Â I rarely watch music channels these days but if i do flick over it feels like they are showing the same ones as back in the days. I'm happy if i never hear Chop Suey again in my life. cobra_gordo
I remember when Kerrang radio first started it was the same thing, just the same songs looped every hour. The amount of times I heard "The Power" by H-Blockx was crazy.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 1, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2017 Yes! That tune is a music video classic. A mate of mine actually had a H-Blockx album before that thing hit the music channels. I quite liked 'em.
Members SuperBacon
I think The Menzingers have just dropped an album of the year in After The Party. This will surely see them gain fans from the mainstream in the same way The Gaslight Anthem did a few years back. Â It's fucking anthemic. Describes perfectly the end of your 20s/early 30s, and every song is gold. Reminds me of Springsteen in parts, another album which makes you wish you were born in New Jersey or somewhere...(maybe not present day USA but still) Â Check it out. WyattSheepMask
Excellent sound on that new album from The Merzingers. If they'd put that out 15 years ago, they'd have been on every teen comedy soundtrack going. They're over here in April for some dates if anyone wants to check them out
Members SuperBacon
I can't wait. I just hope they play Sunday Morning off their first EP as well. Favourite tune. Â I don't think I've listened to an album so much in a short space of time since The Devil & God by Brand New.
mikehoncho
New Blaze Bayley out soon. Â Anyone a fan ... ?
Merzbow
Not really my kind of metal but I've heard bits of his recent stuff (post 2008) and prefer to it what Maiden currently puts out.
Paid Members waters44 Posted February 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2017 I've just found out that David Gunn, the lead singer of King 810, is also a MMA fighter with a 2-0 record
cobra_gordo
King 810 are still the absolute drizzling shits, I'd just now be less inclined to say it to his face.
WyattSheepMask
New Blaze Bayley out soon. Anyone a fan ... ?Been a massive fan for years. He did go into s really ropey period after his solo band started chopping and changing after 'Blood & Belief', the his wife/manager died and then a couple more iffy lineups (the guys playing his 'Alive In Poland' DVD are a right bunch of shitarses) but he's seems to have got himself sorted now.He never got a fair chance in Iron Maiden, partly down to a mixture of fans not accepting that he wasn't Bruce Dickinson and some fucking appalling songs/general direction from Steve Harris. Â His first two albums after leaving Iron Maiden, 'Silicon Messiah' and 'Tenth Dimension', are both massively underrated Edited February 13, 2017 by WyattSheepMask

Yeh, they aint for me. Its like some kind of metal/confessional type shit. I'm all for a bit of a performance but there's alot of rumor around that it's all a gimmick and Gunn didn't actually go through all the stuff he talks about.
