She was fueding with Hamada and also Traci brooks before Hogan came in , she then lost to Traci brooks, then she was not on TV after that , Hogan comes in and then she is gone from TNA, now im not in the locker room or friends with either but im sure a wrestler knows when their time is up and unless they are happy to sit on their ass and get paid then they will leave or eventually get the push out the door.

I think this is a shame as she was showing real potential and indeed seemed very confident in her role as the 'futue legend'.

She takes it seriously. By all accounts, she's rude and genuinely believes she's a future legend.

The "Future Legend" was actually an award given to her by the Cauliflower Alley club in 2004. Not her own ego.

I've not heard any previous reports about her being rude or arrogant. Maybe she is protecting her gimmick? You know, like real heels? Not trying to be mates with the marks and fanboys to get good reviews on the internet? Nahh surely not, that'd be so unprofessional in these days.....

I've spoken to Melissa a number of times, both in carny and relaxing mode, and she's been fine with me. I've seen her be a bit spiky at times, but I think she's more direct than deliberately rude/nasty, and it's usually when fans are acting like twats.

I'll tell you direct, because I was there: at the RQW Muta show, she was rude to a lot of people, and when Martin Stone (the promotion's champion) was doing the rounds to shake hands and introduce himself, she just left him hanging and looked at him like he was trash. If you don't believe me, you can ask him yourself next time you see him.

The Cauliflower Alley club did vote her "Future Legend", but I know several guys on the British scene who've met her (way before she signed for TNA) who said she took it way too seriously.

Good. She was crap.

Oh God, yeah, she's shit......

I'm beginning more and more to think that she spurned your sexual advances or something Carbomb.

Very mature of you I'm sure, SBA.

And yes, she is fucking shit. As far as women's wrestling's concerned, I'm of the opinion that you, and a lot of guys who sing the likes of SHIMMER's praises, want so badly for women's wrestling to do well that you'll actually ignore significant faults in their game, faults that you wouldn't put up with from male wrestlers, and laud them to the skies when they're actually crap.

I'll tell you who I think is good out of the current load of non-WWE women in the US:

Kong

Ms.Chif (awesome character, great in the ring - uses a great rationale for being a female version of Muta)

Sarita

Taylor Wilde (only in tags - by herself, she seems lost)

Angelina Love (not such a strong wrestler but solid and knows her character inside and out)

Roxxi (but she seems to be stuck in some sort of limbo at the moment, characterwise - she was impressive as the Voodoo Queen)

Madison Rayne (the workhorse of the Beautiful People, she's actually quite good, and really makes her work reflective of her character)

From everything I've seen of Melissa/Alissa, she's the female Kevin Steen - either has no idea what her character's supposed to do (Cheerleader), or has no character at all (Flash), and either way has a moveset that's not only completely in contrast and ill-fitting with whatever she's supposed to be (when she's a Cheerleader), but is stupidly spotty and gratuitous.

And SHIMMER? It's a female RoH. And that's not a good thing.

Surely Sarita's much more of a fapper's delight than Cheerleader Melissa? All those flippy floppy moves and lucha libre stylings that make indie fans hard. The few times Raeesha Said actually wrestled she looked pretty good - it looked realistic and she was able to get heel heat even with her face covered.

I'm happy to have girls like Lacey on tv as long as they've also got people like Kong. The ladies often have the best match on tv, Id be a pity to give that up.

But Sarita actually is a luchadora - that's how they promoted her on her debut vignettes, which were in Spanish and had Spanish music playing over them. They've made that an essential part of her character, so it's justified that she does lucha libre.

It's like Rey Misterio Jr. in WCW - he was mega-flippy, and would've been fapped over (could still be, he's short enough), but that was the whole point of him: his main selling point then was that he was a masked luchador. And even now, that's the point - but being WWE, he can tone it down a lot more and still be considered a flippy by casual standards.

As Raisha, I never actually saw her wrestle except once, and that was in a tag match where she didn't get to do as much as I'm sure she would've liked (I think it was her debut match as Raisha) - but it may be that she was better as her than her preferred characters.

Ok, so why is it ok for lucha wrestlers to do all the shit that people complain about from indie wrestlers - overly complicated/unrealistic moves, no selling, bouncing around like they're going trampolining, but it's ok because they're lucha libre? Eddie Guerrero came from that same background but he wrestled properly.

I think Sarita is fluff and nonsense, and appeals to the "fappers" twice as much as gangly, hard-hitting Melissa. And I'm pretty sure she'll spurn your advances too ;)

Because Eddy was more rudo (as far as I've been given to understand) than technico, and besides, if you notice, he didn't become mega-popular until he adapted his game to WWE. Sarita's a technico, and yes, she does lots of flippy stuff, but I don't see you calling Rey Misterio's WCW stuff "fluff and nonsense"? She's the only one in TNA who does the flips, and her offence is pretty good. And there's a difference between doing flippy moves and not knowing when or how to do said moves. From what I've seen of Sarita, she does what she's billed as supposed to be doing. That said, I've only seen her in tags teamed up with Wilde, where the two can cover each other's weaknesses - for all I know, she could be crap in singles. But already, she's better than Melissa.

She won't spurn my advances

I was at the RQW show in Colchester where the "coke can" incident went down. And although I didn't meet her, or speak to her personally. I did hear somebody say that they did before the show, and she came across as rude, whilst Kong was very nice. Obviously I didn't know this person so I can't say whether or not its a reliable source but going by what others have said I'd find it to be accurate.

Also I think its sad when somebody critiques the likes of Shimmer etc, and fan boys instantly turn around and start bringing sex / sexuality into the debate. It speaks volumes to their "argument".

she has never done anything in TNA as flash to stand out from the rest which therefore makes her expendable in my opinion. She should have stuck with the Raisha gimmick as she got more tv time and even though it was playing 2nd fiddle to Kong its better than this Alissa Flash gimmick which never truly got off the ground despite been giving a degree of opportunity to do so.

On a personal level I have met her and she came across as someone who was professional though took herself a little bit too seriously which is fair enough.

When talking about a "Fappers Delight" the phrase "2nd Fiddle to Kong" should not be used. It's an image that will haunt me for a while.

What now though for Melissa? Shimmer will be a step back for a "Future Legend" who is used to being on national TV, even if it was only for a limited capacity?

So you don't deny that she re-buffed your sexual advances then? :);)

As for Melissa being a bitch backstage, okay, fine, she was being a bitch. We know. You've told us. That one incident has obviously scarred you deeply. You obviously don't like her as a person. I think it therefore jades your opinion of her slightly.

Personally, I could give a fuck if she's a complete cunt to everyone she meets or shoots the hind legs off rabbits in her spare time, it doesn't change my thoughts on her in ring ability.

I'm not gonna address all your points (she doesn't have the moveset of a cheerleader!? What would that BE exactly!? ) because we'll no doubt end up going needlessly back and forth and it's evident neither of us are gonna change our opinions. I think she's a very good wrestler (not the best, but good) and you don't. Cool.

Just one thing though - I like her, but aside from spraying mist, MsChif is NOTHING like Great Muta.

....and Daffney is more "goth" than MsChif could ever hope to be.

Fapping's a pretty crap euphamism for masturbation and something I'd expect from someone who thinks Cheerleader Melissa isn't any good. TNA didn't utilise her at all, even dropping the ball with a Falls Count Anywhere match against Ayako. She's an amazing worker, though a bit crap at making a tough promo, but I've seen her live and can say first hand she's nice to chat to and effing fearful in the ring.

Whatever. I've met her, and she was a rude, surly cow. She was rude to other people there as well. And I think she's awful - like I said, a Fapper's Delight, but just to clarify what that means: spot-monkey, very little selling, almost no thought put into her character.

She was slightly more bearable as Alissa Flash than Cheerleader Melissa, because at least she wasn't making claims to being a character she clearly wasn't putting across in the ring, or even outside it barring her costume.

Fapper's

I keep seeing you mention this. What does it mean?

I think he co-opted it from me (apologies if that's not true, Carbomb, I may have subconsciously nicked it from you) but fapping is another word for masturbation. I use the term "fapper" as a synonym for the "workrate wanker" kind of wrestling fan. The ones that think Shelton Benjamin should be WWE champion and Ring of Honor is the best wrestling promotion in the world and wrestling is all about flips and Cheerleader Melissa is fantastic and blah blah blah.

Yeah, pretty much this. Dunno if I nicked it from you or vice versa, but it doesn't matter - it's an apt term.

So you're having a go at smarks? Come on man, that's a pretty big case of pot and kettle no?

I couldn't care if a wrestler came right up to my face and screamed "YOU ARE A CUNT ! A GREAT BIG CUNT !" so long as when they were in the ring, they entertained me.

I agree that it makes absolutely no difference to me as a fan, but if she does indeed have a shitty attitude then it could easily have been a contributing factor to her being let go. No one wants to work with a mediocre dickhead; she's just not talented or important enough to get away with acting like she's the shit. Ain't none of the boys gonna put up with that from a woman wrestler.
