What have you been watching on (proper scripted) telly?

He’s in that wife shagging one with McNulty isn’t he? That’s meant to be decent but I looked at the premise and predicted it would become ridiculous as the seasons went on. Anyone seen it?

Fantastic first season, then all dragged out a little bit. Definitely definitely didn't need five seasons, although arguably they clawed it back a bit by the end.

Great cast. Can't argue with the premise or the people involved, but yeah by the end I was just watching it because I had been for so long that I wanted to finish it.

In stuff that appeals to me, I started watching Suits and Louis Litt is a magnificent shithouse. I hope they don’t turn him or he goes on a redemption journey. Plus he is blatantly in the closet.

On Season 3 now and Louis Litt is fucking brilliant.  There are times he shows real vulnerability but then goes back to being a spiteful wanker, I'm Team Litt.  He's just teamed up with the 5th year who is a shithouse too so hoping for great things.

Wife and I have started watching X-Files. Both of us were kids when it first came out and (outside of seeing a few clips when my Dad was watching it and being freaked out) have never seen it before.

Only about 7 episodes in but really enjoying it so far.

Space Force is really fucking bad. We watched the first two episodes and neither of them were funny or interesting. In fact episode 2 was almost insultingly bad.

I have watched the first five episodes. I like the show. When it tries to directly parody the Trump administration and current politics it's fucking awful. But when it's just using that as the backdrop to tell its own fun story I like it. Ben Schwartz is basically playing the same character he did in Parks and Rec but I love it so I don't care, and I like the chemistry between Carrell and Malkovich.

It's not great, the writing could certainly be sharper but the good performances carry it enough to make up for that.

Considering he'd never acted before and was only in it because they couldn't find any who fit the bill and could do the accent, he's done pretty well for himself.

Love Life (HBO Max-no idea what channel it's on over here)

Finished this today, and it gets a thumbs up. It's an anthology style show featuring Anna Kendrick, and following her through the loves of her life (one of which was such a cunt I had to go for a fag after his episodes).

She elevates the show no end, and it sags a bit at times and gets a bit cliched, but she is such a likeable performer that you can't help but enjoy her performance. She has quite a bit of sex in the show as well and at one point you see her sitting on someones face so you know, a straight 11/10.

10 episodes at around half an hour each, so it's a pretty breezy watch, and Scoot McNair and Kingsley Ben-Adir (superb in High Fidelity) pop up and are both great as is Pete Vack as weird friend Jim.

Each series will focus on a different character and Kendrick will occasionally crop up and to be honest I don't know if that will work if it's an actor I/you don't like but we'll see.

Kendrick also has the whitest name ever in this, Darby Carter.

Broad City

Just got to the end of series 4 of this and it's still excellent. Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer are both superb and have great chemistry and everytime Hannibal Buress pops up is a delight.

This thread is so old that Dynamite Duane was still a Scientologist when it started.

This thread is so old that Hollie Grieg still wasn't being abused by her mum when it was started.  (Duane seems to ignore it every time I mention it to him on Twitter, that's unlike him)

This thread is so old that Dynamite Duane had yet to be infiltrated by mind control rays broadcast by the BBC via a shadow organisation (look it up I've said too much already, but it starts with a J and rhymes with cues) who plan on pushing a socialist communist liberal agenda who will force everyone to be pangender and follow basic guidelines in times of pandemics - I'm sure you'll agree this is a threat to our basic liberties.
