What have you been watching on (proper scripted) telly?

My thoughts on Heroes season 3:-

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGH!!!

Yep, that pretty much covers it.

Season 1 was, barring the dreadful first and last episodes, magnificent TV. Season 2 went off the rails and, obviously, ended prematurely. Season 3 was just utter piss.

How, in such a relatively short space of time can you take one of the best shows on TV and make it one of the worst? The writing is appalling, the logic violations boggle my mind and, much like JLM, I just want to smash Peter "Little Nicky" Petrelli's stupid fucking face in.

Anyway, who's following Battlestar?

To clarify, Mary Louise Parker nudity? Because I now love her.

Back of the line, pal. But yeah, it's impossible not to love her from watching that series. And yes, there is indeed some nudity involving her to come. I thought there might have been some in the first season, actually. There's definitely some in the fourth though

I think she was about 20 something when she did freaks and geeks.

She was 19 which makes her a couple of years old than the character she was portraying. My point still stands though, whilst she's definitely cute, her character is anchored in the realms of teenage girl which just really isn't appealing when you're a bit older. Much like Hage though, my teenage self would have fallen totally and spaffingly in love with her.

Glad to see that it's general consensus that Peter Petrelli is a complete fucking weiner.

I watched the first episode of The Corner last night. Let me start by saying it was definitely good....

But. It is odd to see it now, as it was a precursor to The Wire, and it was hard not to compare it to The Wire whilst watching it. Especially as it had a few Wire actors in it - Lester, Sydnor, and the fat guy that looks at porn all day.

Lester Freamon as a dopefiend?! Sheeeeit!

Anyway, I look forward to continuing to watch it, and will no doubt be back in here with a more fully formed opinion once I have.

The music was as good as you would expect it to be.

Has anyone seen the latest episode of House yet and can tell me whether it was any good?

Currently downloading and was just curious.

Oh and Battlestar Galactica has caught my attention recently and although I haven't been watching the episodes in any linear fashion, the odd episode I've caught here and there have been great.

Don't really want to start a new thread over this but feel we need a wide opinion on it! The new season of Lost is starting tonight in the US and the new season of 24 started 2 weeks ago! Obviously we have people watching one or both of these shows and so have discussion threads for both! The one thing that bothers me is the fact that the 24 thread is UK pace with US pace spoilers in spoiler tags, where as the Lost thread is the other way around! Maybe it's me being anal, but does this strike anyone else as not making any sense? I'd be worried that some one would go from the 24 thread after watching on Sky one knowing that thread is safe for them as the spoilers from the US airing are hidden, and would then go into the Lost thread thinking exactly the same! Obviously there is no need for two threads for each show, but surely in the interest of userbility we would be better having some form of consistency?

Anyone else have any thoughts or am I just being anal?

Start with the miniseries and watch the whole lot. It's The West Wing with space battles. The characters are all flawed in properly human ways and have the kind of intertwining relationships that you can't really latch onto by just watching an episode here or there. It's well worth the time and investment.

To be honest yeah I pretty much agree, as an avid follower of both I watch at Sky pace on both shows. i only ever download or watch show via stream site, that are a good few months worth or waiting away. Such as Dexter season 3 for example.

So yeah I don't think you're being anal...And if you are, we're anal together oooeeer

Thanks! I'm not necessarily saying that these threads should be at Sky pace, just that there should be some sort of consistency for threads of this type! If that means all at US pace then so be it!

So, just a question, but what the fuck is Kozlov doing in The Wire?

Fucking bizarre.

I'm halfway through season 2, and to JLM, you were right in predicting how much I would enjoy this show. I've only found one episode I held a problem with, and that was episode 1 of season 2. I understand that it is supposed to be gritty, realistic and whatnot. But, this episode nailed it so much that it was near-on unwatchable. I can understand why the actors, the crew, the writers, the director etc would derive great pleasure from this episode as it nailed their objective square on the money. The problem is, as a viewer, it was the equivalent of a consumer buying a CD, running home, listening to it and proclaiming 'This album, right, it's the closest thing to not actually listening to music without having to actually not listen to music'.

It's clearly Omar for the win though. What a character.

I enjoyed the most recent Fringe as much as i did Lost. Really liking that programme.

You can download all of S1 (up to 11 or 12 so far) on mininova with all files having more seeds then peers, so quick downloads.
