Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted January 9, 2019 Moderators Share Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Jonah Hill is a stamp of approval for me. I've never seen anything he was in that I didn't enjoy. He picks his projects well! Edited January 9, 2019 by Chest Rockwell
Merzbow
It was great to see Emma Stone in something I could actually enjoy, she's so good but god she's been in a lot of trash over the years.
Factotum
Check her out in The Favourite if you can, she's brilliant in that and its a very good film. She also nails the english accent. Really Emma Stone should be this generations Diane Keaton.

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted January 10, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 10, 2019 Was round at my other half's uncle's this morning and Minder was on. Arfur had to contend with none other than Admiral Ozzel Bronson.
Mr_Danger
I'll second the love for Maniac. The two leads have great chemistry and the supporting cast is top (I'm looking at you Chief Garvey). Jonah Hill really is the best of that so called frat pack bunch.
Kfogg1991
I really like British crime dramas. I've just finished watching Luther and wire in the blood..... does anyone have any good recommendations for stuff like that. My favourite by a mile is a touch of frost but I love David Jason

I like Luther even though I realise it's edgelord trash, the season 4 miniseries was the absolute worst tho and had no redeeming features.
Guy Bifkin
Good to see True Detective has returned to the warm comfort blanket of satanic pedophile rings after the truly awful second season.

Paid Members DEF Posted January 21, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 21, 2019 Baywatch seasons 1-9 have been added to Amazon Prime Instant. Newly restored in full HD and it looks amazing. I've been plowing my way through the old DVDs over the last year and it's astonishing the difference. I'd always thought they were shot on film and edited on video but apparently not. That's the good news. The bad news is that it has been reframed from the original aspect ratio of 4:3 to 16:9 cropping the top and bottom of the frame but opening up the sides. Looks a bit tight to my eye and it means no more laughing at boom mics. Also over 300 songs have changed because rights issues. Don't worry the main theme is their though. Howling with laughter: That was great fun, but the highlight of the episode for me was Sean Lock being asked what he was most proud of, and him replying, "probably all of the money I embezzled from the RNLI". There's just something so hilariously specific about it.
