WyattSheepMask
For someone who's become a fan of Kota Ibushi in the CWC, any recommendations for other matches of his I should look out or? He had a great match against Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 9 and an enjoyable triple threat against Finn Balor and Low Ki at Wrestle Kingdom 8 I think it was. He also had a highly rated 45 minute match against Kenny Omega for DDT a few years back, but I can't recall what the show was called
Guest
that triple threat match was great, Low Ki wrestling in the suit was a fantastic touch, shame that ended his tenure there - something to do with the look being based off the Hitman video games and him not having permission from the company to do that. Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted September 9, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) Why is Owens being called the first ever Universal champ? Wasn't your man Balor the first, or did i miss something? Balor did win the belt, didn't he? Edited September 9, 2016 by Scott Malbranque
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted September 9, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 9, 2016 I thought Steph just cocked up on Raw. Have they repeated the claim?
Guest
My memory's fuzzy now but I seem to recall it being mentioned at least twice. Â However, Jericho's joke about Owens being the longest reigning Universal Champion (at 7 days) relies on Balor's 24-hour reign also being recognised. Â Left hand, meet right hand. Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted September 10, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 10, 2016 Hes referred to as the first Universal champ on the written synopsis for Jericho's Podcast this week, and it was definitely mentioned twice on Raw. Bizarre, if that's the case
Guest
Thinking about it, the "longest reigning" thing doesn't entirely rely on Balor's reign being acknowledged - it's just much funnier if it is. Â But yes, quite an unnecessary bit of whitewashing if they're acting like Balor was never champ. That's basically saying he might as well have walked out on the match the minute he got hurt, rather that fighting on and winning. Great message there. Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted September 12, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) What's the deal with John Cena not being on telly? Is he now working a Shawn Michaels schedule or is it purely down to his reality show getting in the way? The worst thing about 2016 WWE is the lack of Cena. Paid Members WeeAl Posted September 12, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2016 He's on a Shawn Michaels schedule like you say. Even when he comes back to TV he's meant to be only doing the selected major market house shows and the odd overseas tour.
