  1. Gretna would make an absolutely fascinating documentary. Brookes Mileson must have been a mad man if he thought a place the size of Gretna could eventually finish third in the SPL.

It all went to shit after that Scottish Cup Final, then they got hammered out the UEFA Cup by, I think, Derry City. Gretna still have the lowest crowd of the SPL years. Played Caley Thistle at Fir Park and got 430+ fans. Mileson was found dead in his garden pond a few months after it went to shit. It's a fascinating story.

ADDED: I remember Division 1 (now the Scottish Championship) team chairmen basically saying "don't let these fuckers into the SPL as they'll crash and burn". 100% right. I remember St. Johnstone's Geoff Brown being extremely vocal as were others.

ADDED AGAiN. Not sure of the timing of their absolute collapse, but I think them being chucked out allowed Rangers back in. Not sure on that one.

  2. I think King got them to remove his name as the film was nothing like the book (or short story).

He did the same with "The Running Man" film too. Very fickle Mr. King.

ADDED: I think King took his ball and went home when Arnie got the part. He wanted a skinny, downtrodden guy.

  3. Somebody, might have been King himself, directed a version of "The Shining" as he really wasn't a fan of Kubrick's version.

Original "It" series still scares the shite out of me. My folks were big fans during his drugs phase.

I bet Johnson is shitting himself at the threat of Eton Mess being outside his door.

I bet Boris thinks Elon Musk is coming to his door. I would be shitting myself too, to be honest.

  5. Oh my God. Seek out Chariots of Fire, Blade Runner, his duets with Jon Anderson "The Friends of Mr. Cairo". His soundtrack to the film "Missing" is a tad underrated. Check out "Conquest of Paradise" too. What a man. Sadly missed.

Heres his Chariots of fire music video. Get a ciggie out whilst playing..

Shouldn't be too surprising as it's just Thunderball again and you would have to go some to ruin Thunderball.

It's just totally a weird idea. You really can only really legally remake "Thunderball". No other funny ideas. Must have given Sean Connery a big fat bag of money to return. He did look like he "could kick some ass" in that film, whilst old Roger was getting stuntmen all over the place to do that for him.

I just watched Belushi (2020) on Now TV and I'm left broken by the sad loss of life. It pieces together audio clips and handwritten letters covering the life and death of John Belushi. It reminded me what a great talent he was, just a naturally funny guy with adored by millions. Like many with addiction the rush of chasing attention proved too much for him and depression overtook him at the end. The final section where he performs Guilty over his last note to his wife and news footage of his death is simply heart-breaking. A good watch though not exactly uplifting.

Oh and the animation covering some of the audio parts is superb.

Remember the film. "Wired" from the 80s about him? It was based on a book about him. Nobody wanted anything to do with it. Dan Ackroyd slagged it off, Belushi's family slagged it off. Caused a bit of controversy in the early 90s.

  8. Anybody see that new George Lazenby biopic \ Film "Becoming Bond"? Seems like a mish-mash of an actual film and a documentary from the trailer. I must say Lazenby looks good for his age.

ADDED: From the "Never Say Never Again' trivia on Amazon Prime. Around this time Sean Connery was stopped for speeding by a Sgt. James Bond.

  9. Build up to Roberts Vs Sting could have been miles better but this was Bill Watts booking this shit now.

One of the first things Watts done was supposedly slash Jake's contract in half that he signed with Kip Frey. "Cutting costs".

  10. Been going thought the WCW Saturday Nights shows from 1992 and they are brilliant. Who is this K. Allen Frey? I imagine he was Bischoff's predecessor. I believe he called him "goofy as fuck" but I quite enjoyed him laying down the law. He had more business charisma than Bill Watts ever did.

With all the effort made to have a UK Summerslam in 92. Why was it not shown live on Sky Sports? Surely they weren't worried about it hurting the live gate. The version shown on Sky was horribly chopped up and we had to watch one of the Sky Sports football presenters drone on for an interminable amount of time. In the middle of the show!

I'm almost sure that presenter was old Richard Keys hyping some football match coming after the show.

    Why’s it a 15?

    Yeah probably just a placeholder.

Does somebody get blood in there? Doesn't Roddy Piper go off on one on the bagpipes when he gets booed? It's been years since I seen it right through though.

    Definitely buy.

ADDED: The "what sides Ric Flair on?" storyline was quite intriguing for the Savage vs Warrior match.

    Is Patterson here?

But yeah that shit, I’m not saying wrestlers embellish stuff but massive strokes disable you. He’d have noticed.

Definately, because I've had one and I noticed. I was in the hospital for three months. Still can't really feel my left hand side and that was three years ago.
