Bit of a random question here, but has anyone else, since having COVID, lost the ability to detect the heat you'd normally get from spicy food?

Not that but I could sip tea right after i made it. Beforehand I would have to leave it at least a couple of minutes to cool down.

  2. I'm late to the party with this one but only just got round to watching No Time To Die.

Just not sure what to make of it. The whole thing fell flat. The scenery and action scenes were uninspired. Daniel Craig was delivering his lines like he was just trying to get the whole thing over and done with as quickly as possible.

The new 007 being a woman felt like a marketing trick to get punters into the cinema. Not much thought went into her character and they didn't really go anywhere with her. They would have been better off with having a man as his replacement to really hurt his ego. That way they could finish off what Skyfall started with the  signs of Bond  slowing down and coming to the end of his usefulness as a 00.

At nearly three hours a whole lot of nothing went on. Outside of the main characters, everyone else was left standing there twiddling their thumbs with not much to do. Didn't really get a chance to delve into Rami Maliks character. He was there at the beginning, then he was gone for a long period of time, then pops up just to let you know there is supposed to be a bad guy in the movie and then right at the end he shows off his bottany skills.

Will definitely need to give this one another watch and see how I feel afterwards.

The editing felt strange at times. There were scenes where there are two people walking down a hallway, it cuts to a side view showing a third person trying to catch up with them. When it cuts back to the front view again and they're talking it felt like a second of footage was cut. Hard to explain but when you watch it again look out for it and it'll stand out.

On a positive note. Good to see they gave some love to Daltons Aston Martin. A nice little touch there.

  3. Just booked tickets to see Counting Crows at the O2 Academy in Sheffield in March and Gary Numan at the O2 Academy in Leeds in May.

Wanted to see Counting Crows for years but never had the opportunity so excited to see them live.

Loved Gary Numans last two albums so looking forward to hearing them live along with the classics.

My 2022 calendar is looking like this so far

Counting Crows - March.   Evanescence - April.                         Gary Numan - May.                 Aerosmith - July.                              Haim - July.

Tempted to get tickets to Eels but would mean travelling to Manchester and taking time off work.

  4. Two weeks of having the fucker I'm finally starting to feel better. Still can't smell anything! Not sure what was worse. The sore throat which meant I went days without drinking very little water or the 48hrs where I was constantly coughing up phlegm meaning I couldn't lie down or get any sleep.

This is the most unwell I've ever felt. To the point where I wrote out my funeral wishes as I was expecting to have to call an ambulance at any point.

Thankfully I'm over the worst with just an uncomfortable feeling in my throat.

Then I read the news and there's another mutated variant on its way. Fuck!

  5. Started feeling unwell on Thursday. Spent all day in bed over the weekend and went for a PCR test on Monday. Tested positive. Not eaten since Friday (bowl of cereal) and can hardly drink due to the constant sore throat.  Covid is the real deal! I'm just glad I've had my two jabs otherwise who knows what would have happened to me.

  6. Finished watching and have to say that I didn't think they would be able to top the horror and brutality of the Red light/Green Light game, but I was a bag of nerves after watching the glass bridge episode!

Normally in a show like this there's always a character you end up hating for some reason but they did a great job in making us the viewer believe in each character emotionally of which had a huge impact when it came time for them to be eliminated.

I'm not going to let the wooden delivery of the dialogue between the VIPs or how the guards could have built a trapdoor in the furnace without being detected spoil my enjoyment of watching the show again.

reading that Charlotte tore up Alexa Bliss' doll.

In reality that's Charlotte not fucking about with selling Alexa's gimmick. But in kayfabe, how do you explain that? It had some kind of spooky magical powers over everyone else, but when she fights Charlotte it's just a regular doll?

Years ago, I heard a story about a rumble match on the indies that had a big dance-off spot where everyone got hypnotised and started dancing. The next person out was Saraya Knight, and she didn't want to do the comedy spot, so instead she just came out, no sold the hypnosis bit and just twatted the guy responsible to end that bit. In her head, that was "I'm not doing this bollocks". But the way commentary and other people on the show sold it was, "what powers does Saraya have that makes her immune to this magic?", so actually made her more of a part of the daft comedy spot than if she'd just taken part like everybody else.

I'm reminded of that, because it's the same thing with Charlotte now. If she's capable of saying "fuck off with that daft shit, it's just a doll", does that mean that she's immune to its/Alexa's powers? Or is it just saying, "all of that was silly wrestling TV shit, it's time to get serious", in which case, it's a matter of the old Vince Russo "that bit was fake, but this bit of fake wrestling is real" that has never, ever worked.

You can see it now. There's going to be an actress dressed up in a life size Lilly outfit that's going to be terrorising Charlotte on RAW/Smackdown!!

  8. Having watched the video on page 14. Don't you think there was a bit of stunt editing going on? I'm not condoning any of their actions, but from what Dreamer was saying and the narrative doesn't quite match up for me. He sounds like he's recounting experiences of Flair doing his shtick, of which he's been well known to do (it's documented in the 30 for 30 Flair documentary) and then they overlay the stewardess harrassment segment in between. Of course it's going to make Dreamer sound bad by ending his interview segment with "someone must have got offended".

I've not seen the whole episode so if someone could let me know if it was clear that he was talking about that particular journey? If so, it makes him sound like he's blaming the stewardess for not being in on the joke and not allowing Flair to sexually harass her, or is it likely he was just speaking of previous encounters and they added it for a gotcha! moment?

Man, this really cut deep didn’t it?

That just makes you sound desperate! If I had any issue with your opinion, I would have raised it at the time.

  10. Everyone was required to provide an up to date covid pass from the NHS app to get in so that did relieve some of the concerns I had. The issues I had was that we were all there for over three hours watching the support and a good hour of BSC before the group decided to push their way to the front. If they had of done it from the start then that's a different story but they were drunk, getting handsy with people. Putting their arms around people and trying to shake hands. They were right up in people's faces and almost headbutted my sister. Someone said about any concerns about not going to a gig. They were not respecting anybody's boundaries and were out of order.

  11. Is it wrong to kick off at a group (3) of lads who decided it was a good idea to push through to the front and completely disrupt everyone around them? Saw Black Stone Cherry tonight and I was standing third row from the front when this group of lads, whom I initially thought were with man in front of me barge through and stand next to him and cause a drunken scene, forcing those around them to back off or get knocked around. Long story short, it almost turned physical but thankfully cooled down. I was greatful there were a few large lads near me that would have helped me out had fists been thrown! All one of the lads could say to me was "you're at a gig". What annoyed me is that everyone was respecting each other's space up to that point and with corona still around I wasn't prepared to put up with that kind of behaviour. Has anyone else had similar issues, or seen arguments/fights at gigs?
