  1. A very young Stevie Richards in a training school match.
  2. Atsushi Onita was in the US over Wrestlemania weekend and took time to visit Amarillo Texas and Terry Funk's grave before returning home.
  3. I've heard the phrase 'serving cunt' quite a bit lately and have no idea what it means.
  4. I don't necessarily disagree - and the examples you gave did make me rethink the point about still disliking someone who is entertaining. I completely agree that making you not want to watch someone at all is the worst thing any performer can do. I guess it's a fine line. As an example, I cant stand James Corden. Nothing entertaining about him as far as I'm concerned. Hugely annoying, completely smug, unfunny, untalented prick BUT I would watch anything he was on if there was the chance I got to see someone hit him with a chair.
  5. It's the point of a heel though, surely? If she was annoying to the point of being entertaining then you would like her because she was entertaining - therefore she would no longer be a heel.
  6. I honestly don't know much about Tama Tonga (other than what Michael Cole said). I never knew he was older than Roman? Wow. Okay, well maybe not younger but the ''new generation" then (Oh God, Mabel and Nikolai Volkoff flashbacks). I'm more interested in Jacob Fatu showing up (if he is). Mean looking guy, seems crazy agile. Reminds me of Umaga from the little I've seen of him.
  7. I like the Solo/Tama development, personally. It makes sense (the younger generation trying to usurp their elders) and at least means WWE is intent on building new people. I'm interested to see where they go with it.
  8. He's with wrestler Alex Windsor, who had a child with Ryan Smile.
  9. Apart from when they made fun of it on TV during a match.... or when they brought Colt Cabana back for one match and then never used him again.... or when they passive aggressively made fun of the whole thing on BTE.... The Elite are not beyond being petty, childish and insecure either, in fairness. Same with Tony Khan. As evidenced by this week's promo, neither is Will Ospreay. It's not a one sided thing.
  10. Perry Saturn as a long haired cowboy in 1991.
  11. Apparently they are not showing what had Tony 'fearing for his life' though. How odd.
  12. Underwhelmed by the thought of Jey Uso (who autocorrect changed to Jet Using) Vs Damian Priest but at least they are focusing on newer guys for main event slots. Has to be a Gable heel turn next week, surely? I wonder when Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu will show up.
  13. I'm withholding my opinion until Meltzer's star rating is released.
  14. No, but cutting people for 'budget reasons' and then publicly saying a few days later that you spent more money on one song than the guys you just released will earn in a year is pretty cunty. Still, at least Tony's not petty....
  15. Her name is Giulia. She wrestles in Japan. I've not seen her work but by all accounts she is highly regarded. Let's hope she's not another Sarray.
  16. I agree completely. I think it's more 'from the outside looking in' kind of thing. If I'm one of the wrestlers who has just been released, I'd be a bit narked thinking 'Tony can't afford to pay me to the end of my deal but can spaff that much on one song for a three minute entrance?' It's like when the company you work for says 'We've made record profits this year so to say thank you for all your hard work we have bought you some pizza's'. Okay, maybe it's not like that but that's what the company I worked for did once and it annoyed me. It wasn't even good pizza.
  17. As you say, it's personal preference/subjective. All anyone is saying when they go 'He can't work' is really 'I don't like watching them/I have a set idea of what being able to 'work' is'. - which is fine, obviously, but isn't necessarily true.
  18. Indeed. It's why when people say, for instance, 'Hulk Hogan was not a good worker'. Are you kidding? He could have crowds cheering just by lifting a finger. He could sell and his stuff looked good. Do you mean he didn't do flips? If that's the criteria then, yes, he was terrible.
  19. What is 'in ring skill'? Selling, timing, not hurting his opponents? Or doing flips and moonsaults?
  20. Exactly. It just comes across really....twatish. 'I've spent more on one song than you get paid in a year!'. Really tone deaf.
  21. Reading a report on wrestling observer about Tony saying he had overspent this year. According to them, on saying he needed to make cutbacks, he said 'On one song alone, I spent like a years pay for most pro wrestlers in this business'. Tone, mate, that just makes you sound like a twat. Stop it.
  22. Maybe they only want to work one date a month and then shoot vignettes?
