To have Kenny act like the best bout machine, and be the best bout machine, defeats the object of being a heel, which is to piss you off. .

Jon Jones would like a word.

The heel who thinks hes incredible and noone else is good enough works really well when he's right, as he can just get cockier and cockier until someone comes along and proves him wrong.

Omega should absolutely win this tournament, and should beat hangman to do it, although he should probably be forced to cheat to do so. That should send hangman rock bottom and then his redemption story can begin, culminating in a match with Omega for the title down the line.

The most insane thing is, they've registered 4 keepers. It seems to be that due to so much of their squad being under 21 opened up some gaps and that wary of a covid outbreak in the team (especially with the goalkeepers in close contact) if anything does happen he'll take off the suit and tie and have a full kit on underneath.

No, the most insane thing is he isn't the oldest goalkeeper in the squad.

Yeah it's the flipping up of the ball that was a pain in the arse. I think it was made worse by the fact that I went in late with the mentality of "I'll just do this one quick shrine and then go to bed" only to be confronted with that abomination, so I just opened the chest and left the orb. I'll go back and finish it properly and I'm sure it won't be thaaaat bad but I am still angry.

The maze? It's a lot easier if you

    Spoiler

    turn the maze upside down

I was very pleased with myself when I figured this out then did some googling and realised it's what everyone does.

The problem with that attitude is it normally leads to every heel becoming an absolute fadge. Goes back to Steve Austin in 2001, if not further. Guys who are hard as fuck babyfaces are suddenly chicken shit heels because they're so one dimensional in what they present. There are exceptions but they tend to be spooked by those guys getting cheers. That's never a problem, the opposite is. Book your faces well and you can cope with a heel some fans like.

I don't think that follows from the point I was making.

There's more than one type of heel, the problem that they often have with turns is they just assume chicken is the only one. You're right that they end up radically changing the guys character when they do that, but I'd argue thats mostly been a problem in face turns rather than heel. But that's not the same thing as cementing the turn, that's making a bad turn. Theyve not done that with Roman, they're making him play big timer. I'm not sure Steve Austin is a great example either, as I don't think the problem with his heel turn was his character work, which was tremendous, I think it was the opponents he had.

They want Roman's first opponent as champ to make clear that he has abandoned other alliances, that he doesn't care about his family and only himself. A 2 minute smash doesn't do that, it just makes Roman look dominant. He's already dominant,  he's Roman Reigns. He needs to betray Jey in some way, and the best way to do that is for him to not take Jey seriously (which is part of the build), Jey to surprise him and then him to cheat with a chair or something. Although hopefully it's not a DQ. That would be pants

  5. Yeah this feud clearly only exists to cement Roman's heel turn. Roman not taking Jey seriously, Jey getting the better of the big dog for a minute or two before Roman cheats and then destroys him with a chair is the way forward.

Fans already take Roman seriously as a main eventer, it's the heel turn that needs focusing on

Killed of Keith Lee's momentum for nothing.

This was always the plan. Kross was looking for the title before Cole lost it. They way they've pushed him it was pretty clear that Lee only won the belt for Kross to beat him and look unstoppable. Lee then moves on to another brand because he's done everything he can do there.

Vinny used to yes but not anymore. He’s a professional sportswriter I think, which makes things even worse!

I thought he edited Figure Four Weekly, or possibly just some sections of the Observer.

Considering how close to the line Dave finishes them these days I'd be very surprised if a proper edit is done. I subscribe to WON but only for the radio shows. I find Dave far more annoying than Bryan these days, and I've always had fun on the Bryan and Vinny shows

As the recipient of the 2019 Dolt of the year award, I should probably comment - particularly given that employee wellbeing has become a huge concern for me in the workplace since Covid hit and I'm dealing many examples of employees truly struggling with burnout and their mental health. I genuinely believe @RedRooster is coming at this with the right motives and based on your arguments, it's difficult to argue with you. I wouldn't have said the same thing a year ago - I rolled my eyes at the time when the whole #bekind movement was a thing - but that feels like a lifetime ago.

Yeah, for the record, I've got lots of respect for Red Rooster throwing this out there. I know we have this chat a lot, but that's mostly been in paid and Rooster wouldn't know that. They saw something they found concerning and raised it, knowing it might get shouted down. I disagree on the issue, but I respect you for raising it.

Navigator Fan is just trying to dig at Butch and Keith, and should be ignored.

  9. I think why some posters here bristle about accusations of bullying or resist the (reasonable) mental health points is because there's a recurring theme of it feeling like some of the more difficult posters have weaponised mental health, learning disabilities etc to try and avoid criticism. This may never have actually happened, but it has felt like it has. At the same time, Butch has been doxxed and he's not the only example of people havinf been legitimately victimised by people on here, and so some people will find that stuff hard to swallow.

  10. We have this conversation every six months or so. I don't know if that means anything, but it's worth mentioning.

My response on these things has always been "no one is required to post here". I understand what people are saying by saying that people struggling with their mental health can't always been relied on to make the best decisions (Hannibal Scorch particularly had this issue when he was at his worst),  but I don't think they represent a significant minority, and I'm nervous about enabling that behaviour by building the forum around it. It's hard for me to vocalise why, though. I think it's because the idea of sanitising all of this space for the sake of mental health will harm the forum and, most crucially, not be any help to the people involved. Removing negative awards isn't, realistically, going to make anyone's life easier.

I'm now wondering if I think this just because I won't enjoy the forum as much, which is a rubbish reason.

It's also worth mentioning that this forum is not social media, and the implications are very different (not real names, forums aren't as ever present so you can avoid them, etc). The potential for bullying on here is lower than it is there.

I’d go with a heel Kenny taking the belt from Mox after turning on and injuring Hangman. Then later have Hangman return and eventually take the title from Kenny 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, you could definitely do that. I feel like if you want to strap a rocket to hangman I think he needs two big feuds before he wins the belt and Kenny is the obvious first one.

Business tanked within the first two months. The biggest problem at all was switching Austin heel but keeping him as top star without having a babyface of equal measure to oppose him. Taker was a shit option and bombed in the role. HHH should have gone face the day after Mania, the Power Trip was an awful idea.

I don't think the power trip was a bad option, they just needed to be bolder with it. I remember massively getting behind Jericho and Benoit when they finally started winning on them, they just did it too late. Had they started with a shorter run with taker and Kane and then transitioned to Jericho and Benoit sooner, going all in to elevate them, I think it would've worked. The taker and Kane run was too long and they murdered the Hardy's, which will not have encouraged fans to keep watching.

It was a great elevation opportunity because Austin left this massive top baby-face hole, but they never let anyone fill it, presumably because they were waiting for rock to come back, which was a mistake.

There is zero intimidation though. Nexus had big blokes in there too. Ryback is a unit and Wade had some height to him, while Darren Young and Otunga were beefy too. Considering the angle and what they were going for, you need to be somewhat intimidating. Otherwise everyone is wondering why security aren't recreating that great Loki picture.

I saw a video of it on twitter and I thought it looked absolutely ridiculous. It's Nexus but everyone is Justin Gabriel.

The other thing is that Nexus beat the hell out of John Cena, CM Punk and Luke Gallows when they first arrived. They beat up all the commentators and referees and looked like they'd hurt you. These guys ran everyone off, did a couple of terrible looking attacks on the fans that everyone knows aren't fans, hit the ring with baseball bats accomplishing nothing, and then cut the ropes and were very pleased with themselves. The whole thing was anemic.
