  1. Another thing I don't think anyone mentioned is that Marvel actively buried the fantastic four for years to the point of even cancelling the comics while other studios owned the rights, I'm sure that hasn't helped with the way they're perceived, it used to be a huge title for them.

I like the FF enough but I'm a bit sick of Pedro Pascal being so overexposed, he's cool enough but he's been everywhere for a couple of years, just feels like Marvel casting whoever is popular. I would have loved to see Glenn Howerton or someone as Mr Fantastic. I hope Galactus is in it in any case, and not as a cloud this time.

I went back into the lounge and found a big brown slug in the middle of the floor.

When i was a teenager I used to have a room that was next to a garden and I'd find random slugs in my room on occasion, it was disgusting. In desperation I patched up any areas the slugs might be coming in to but no matter what I did i would occasionally still find a slug in my room, no slime trail or anything, the slug just sitting there. The worst occasion was when one of the slugs climbed up my wall and slithered over a ticket stub I'd put up that I'd got signed by Ronnie James Dio and the slime actually dissolved the autograph off the ticket. This carried on for a few years until one day I caught my cat red handed bringing a slug into my room (presumably as a gift for me) so that whole time it had been my fucking cat bringing them in. Do you have a cat perchance?

  3. NXT PLE from last night was really enjoyable, wolfdogs vs melo & trick and the Dijak vs Gacy hardcore match were fun but the main event was a total banger, Trick was so over.

Filth Collins is alright, but stuff like Thrill Collins, Michael Cera Palin are forum usernames at best.

Where do you stand on Dananananaykroyd?

Ah this is a crap one. In addition to Star Trek I remember growing up watching him on Alien Nation as well.

That suuuucks, Alien Nation was my absolute favourite TV show as a teen, so underrated with an awesome theme tune. I was happy to meet him at a sci fi con years ago, he was really cool. R.I.P Sikes.

I drink Azera and only recently discovered that, I'm sure most of you will be disgusted. I am quite snobby about tea though

I used to help manage a coffee kiosk that was obsessed with having the absolute best coffee in town, i was already a trained barista before i worked there but they sent me to 2 days at the London school of coffee to learn more about coffee, i did a whole day of coffee theory which i didn't even know was a thing, then a day of coffee practical. Then after that the kiosk owner still wouldn't let me make a coffee for a customer for 3 months, during which i had to practice making coffee for staff and myself every day -remember i already knew how to make coffee before I even started there. they were that anal, they used seasonal small batch extra high end coffee beans etc. Anyway that just to preface the following; When they had a large order for catering and it was impractical to make that much espresso they'd send a thermos of Azera cos they thought so highly of it. And these guys were the biggest coffee snobs conceivable.

@Chest Rockwell nice one on starting drinking coffee, I'm so proud.

    The former sounds good.

The latter...mate, I'd have to be REALLY sold on watching an MMA film, and I'll watch anything!

The forner has a good hour of basketball game action in it which is a lot but the basketball is really well "filmed" and exciting.

I'm not going to try to sell you on the latter but I thought it was surprisingly good and dramatic, if one is going to watch it it's probably better going in not knowing too much about it. Dorff plays an arsehole fighter very much influenced by Connor Macgregor which is probably more off putting but I remember it being really gripping.

I used to like Million Dollar Baby but the Scary movie parody of it spoofed it so mercilessly it killed it for me.

Does Blades of Glory count? That was hilarious.

  8. The First Slam Dunk is a 2+ hour anime about basketball I saw at the cinema a couple of months ago and it's one of the better classic sports films I've seen, I reccomend it unless you're a cartoonphobe or hate basketball.

I really liked Stephen Dorff's MMA film Embattled from a couple of years ago.

When he's whooping everyone while handcuffed, while he was easily holding on to the girl and the stretcher with one hand, and when the guy slid on the knuckle duster only to then start cutting a promo on Reacher.

    Spoiler

I rewound and watched that whole helicopter scene 3 times in a row, funnest 5 minutes of TV in ages.

He's so OP it's glorious, his one weakness was that he's so loyal he refused to entertain the idea that his old friend might be working with the bad guys and he turned out to be right anyway!  The perfect stud action hero if you don't insist on taking shit too seriously.

  10. Reacher Season 2 is over, I loved it, seen a couple of book wankers online saying it was too cheesy and OTT but that's what made it for me really, just perfect balls out stupid fun.

For the particular attention of @Bellenda Carlisle, here's a tiny trailer for Nicolas Cage's next horror film (although he's probably got 17 other films queued up) called Longlegs, from Oz Perkins. Also stars my fiancee Maika Monroe.

Thanks! I didn'tknow about that one. I love how varied his projects are at the moment, he can do anything. He said recently he was only going to do a handful more films then maybe move into TV, hope he was exaggerating and does both cos I do think him doing a prestige TV series would be interesting and I'd like to see him do something long-form but I obviously don't want him to stop doing loads of films. Did you catch Dream Scenario yet?

  12. I enjoyed Aquaman 2 it had 80s buddy cop and fantasy quest movie vibes. Gutted they cut Affleck's cameo though. Momoa looked massive, like almost fat he looked so beefy. RIP DCEU, the better of the connected superhero movie universes

I don't know how Madame Web can have Sydney Sweeney in this outfit and not just make the movie be about that
