  1. Cody Rhodes may not be the guy they want to put the title on. If he is they can do it at another point, but at Wrestlemania it's about special spectacular moments you will never forget and The Rock vs Roman Reigns is that.

I hope the majority on here make sure you get to nursery school on time tomorrow

  2. What great news to wake up too. Roman Reigns vs The Rock at Wrestlemania and Rhodes still wanting to finish his story somewhere down the line. I'll definitely be staying up for Wrestlemania 40 this year.

A little from colum A, a little from B. Realistically who is the best fighter Benn has beaten, Algieri? A man who was bringing the curtain down on his 13 year career.

I agree and yes I would say Algeri who at that point was a part time nutritionist and part time commentator is the best fighter on his resume, not that it is  saying much. He meets anyone with a pulse he gets finished he's already mentioned Haney again and everyone else who wants it at 147lbs.

  4. Beterbiev is the same now as he was 5 years ago, he isn't suddenly stronger or being more decisive in his wins. He's not got a lot of miles on the clock because of turning pro late in his career. He never failed a drug test, now what came out of it by the statements wasn't ideal, he may be guilty, not guilty I personally don't even know anymore in this sport but Bellew with his Matchroom hat and friendship hat on wants to chime in now, yet very quiet when his friends fighters failed two drug tests but claimed he wasn't trying to get pregnant, he is INNOCENT.

Beterbiev picks his shots so well, everything he throws wherever it lands on a fighsters body looks like it leaves it mark, Smith fought gallantly and tried but he just isn't at this man's level in the ring. I hope it is Beterbiev ve Bivol next, been waiting ages for it to happen and everything recently seems to be pointing in the direction of that fight taking place next. It's very compelling on paper qith the different styles and how good both fighters usually look in the ring. My mind hasn't changed when the fight was talked about a few years ago, I can't ser Bivol being able to keep away from Beterbiev for 12 rounds, he may take a early lead on the scorecards but at some point he'll get hunted down, caught, hurt and I'd then expect Beterbiev to finish him off between 9th and 10th round.

  5. Not sure if anyone is aware and I only just seen it by accident but ONE Championship is live on Sky Sports Mix in the early hours of tomorrow morning from 01:00.

Sure. I was in the same boat when Rock came back first time around. My "good for the business" head felt it would make great sense for him to lose that (first) match to Cena to further establish John as the new top guy for the foreseeable future, then when he actually showed up I marked out heavily (as a huge fan of his from 97-2004) and was delighted for him to beat Cena, who I was sour on at the time. It even gave a great story for John and his redemption leading into his next mountain to climb, the returning Lesnar. But of course, there was a rematch a year later that had to suck in the title and the Rumble to make sense, and looking back at Mania 27-29 now.... well, the belt's back on Cena at the end, not much has really been gained other than pissing off Punk and his reign being ended so the belt could be involved when Rock did the favour for Cena which truthfully, he didn't really need. I'd be far more up for Rock vs Cena today, to be fair. We're not pissing around involving the title being contested between TWO part-timers (again) and further delaying getting the new face in position.

Which is a credit to him, and they should be grateful nobody perceives him as a loser after they made him look like one. So... surely, you pull the trigger now? Enough's enough. Put your new guy on the spot in time, or people won't give a shit when you do and you'll end up looking for someone else.

See also - Rollins, who lost a World title and got betrayed in 2016 then had to wait until 2019 to finally win one again when he could have been made into a top babyface, except they were too busy false-starting and Lugering "the Big Dog" over and over again. They turned against him. Much the same as ROH made everyone wait far too long for him to win the belt, and had to turn him heel before he lost it because they'd missed the boat and people rejected him.

Rock's had his day in the sun, more than enough of them. We need a hero for the next 5 years, not for 2-3 matches a year. It's Cody's time.

I enjoyed  the whole build up even with it being long between The Rock and John Cena. It was something completely different build up wise  knowing it would come around a year later. What is good or best for business is for them to decide. It may be they don't think Cody Rhodes is the guy or they may just not want to interrupt Roman Reigns historic championship run.

Rhodes got put over huge by Lesnar at Summerslam so that certainly helped that they had that whole build up to go with after his Wrestlemania loss to Reigns.

I don't remember much about Rollins run as champ besides him beating Lesnar in opening match of one off the Wrestlemania's and getting injured at some point and I never seen any of his ROH run to know how that all went down rightly or wrongly.

You obviously very much emotionally invested in Cody Rhodes being the man and being the one to dethrone Reigns, but can it not happen on another PPV event? The Rock vs Roman Reigns may only be able to happen this year and if that is the case it needs to take place on  the biggest show of them all.

Absolutely. Cody doesn’t need to take the belt at Mania 40 having been back two years and having failed to do at 39. Remember how they held off on Roman himself regaining a World title for two years, Lugered him at Mania 34 then finally re-anointed him at (looks it up) SummerSlam 2018? Didn’t do any harm to Reigns getting over as the next top babyface at all, did it?

Wasn't Reigns at the time getting booed because people thought he was being shoved down their throats? When he did beat Lesnar at Summerslam wasn't he then diagnosed with leukemia and had to give the title up. I can't properly remember that time frame of when all of that went down. I'm saying what I would like to see, business wise I'm not fussed what works for them, that isn't my job but if I have the option I want Reigns vs The Rock every day of the week over Reigns vs Rhodes 2 at Mania 40. Rhodes from what I heard on this show is still hugely over with the crowd, even after what happened at last year's Wrestlemania.

  8. I'm all for The Rock vs Reigns at Wrestlemania. Cody Rhodes can finish his story at another event, at another time.

Raw was a good show, I've not seen Ivy Nile wrestle before but I was impressed and always impressed when I watch Rhea Ripley compete. Punk on the show next week, I'm going to get properly back into the shows now and enjoy the build up to the Royal Rumble and then the lead up to Wrestlemania.

  9. Day Of Reckoning full fight card:

    Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin

    Deontay Wilder vs Joshua Parker

    Dmitrii Bivol ve Lyndon Arthur

    Daniel Dubois vs Jarrell Miller

    Jai Opetaia vs Ellis Zorro

    Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Agit Kabayel

    Frank Sanchez vs Junior Fa

Filip Hrgovic vs Mark De Mori

One of the biggest cards ever from top to bottom in boxing history.

I'm going to have to pay for it and watch. Anyone else on here looking forward to it? Ordering it?

  10. I expected Haney to win it on points but not like that, he completely dominated from the beginning of the fight until the end of it. I thought if he stepped it up a bit more in the latter half of the fight and went looking for it he could have stopped Prograis, but he chose to continue his thing and not take any unnecessary risks. Programs hasn't impressed me since the Taylor fight, still a good fighter but it seemed to take more out of him then I first thought it would.  Haney even at being 5lbs heavier from he usual 135 weight he fights at looks massive.

  11. We just didn't have that clinical edge in front of goal yesterday. Giving a early goal up was always going to cause us problems as gave Villa the lead to defend and hold on to, and credit to them they did it well. I expected more from us in the last 20 minutes,:but even the subs failed to give us that spark we needed. Unfortunate with the Havertz disallowed goal hut just the way that type of thing can go for you at times. Tough one at home against Brighton next weekend, hopefully we can get the three points in that one to set us up for the trip to Anfield the following week.

Does Emery not shaking hands with anyone on the Arsenal bench yesterday because Arteta wasn't on it class him as a "prick" as well? I was under the impression all managers have their "prick" moments. Some are worse then others and I can see why people don't like how Arteta acts at times and think he is one, as I think he is too in moments.

  12. I'm up for watching Dubois knock out either Miller or Chisora. It's a good card on paper if it comes off and I have serious doubts it will end up taking place. Wilder and Joshua talk has been going on for far too long now. I can't say I'm too fussed by that fight anymore, if happens I'd watch but if not I won't lose any sleep over it.

Won the same amount of trohpies as Arsenal last season, dare say it'll be the same this season (community shield doesn't count).

People can chuck the Saudi Arabia stuff around all they like, but the fact is a lot of the big club fans just don't like another club challenging them. It's alright saying how much they like Newcastle when they're shit, deserve so much more etc, but when they actually challenge its all, LOL never won a trophy etc. Just don't like it up them.

Newcastle are here to stay, the money isn't goirng away, but even without that Howe has transformed the club. Longstaff, Joelinton, Shchar, Murphy even Lascslles now are much better players since Howe arrived, the money spent has improved them but its hardly been a Chelsea style spending spree, little by little a giant is being built and it'll only get stronger. Unless you're due to die within the next couple of years I think you'll be very wrong about the trophies Newcastle will win.

Yes, you did but thankfully in my lifetime I've seen Arsenal win more trophies then you've had hot dinners.

I never said you deserved anything when you were rubbish, you are better now and so you should be with the investment put in.  You challenging for what?

We know the money isn't going away and Howe has done a real good job and deserves plaudits for how he has improved a lot of footballers you already had at the club. You think your a giant club? Lol, now that is hilarious, I'm not dying anytime soon and I'll be around for many years to watch you do what is the norm and win absolutely nothing.

  14. VAR should have ruled the goal out as it went out of play. We were not good today, nor were Newcastle.

The Havertz challenge was nothing bad, rightly a yellow card and nothing more. Guimaraes sould have been sent off for his hit on back of Jorginho's head in the first half.

It's okay though, let Newcastle United fans dream about trophies, closest they'll ever get to seeing them even with all the money behind them win in my lifetime.
