  1. one little note for the old Pride-heads, tomorrow's main event is Team Fedor vs. Team Crocop. I'd imagine both men will be in the corners too.
  2. Yep, you dont put Nate the Train in the Apex. What a maniac, great win. Great win for Weidman too! I think if it was anyone else id be a bit more pissed off about the constant eye pokes, but Weidman needed this. He's gonna fight on and end up getting wrecked now though. The pokes were bad though, his fingers were extended the whole time.
  3. PFL regular season kicks off Thursday on DAZN. Mishmash of regular PFL fighter and Bellator names that have crossed over. "Get your popcorn ready" Blagoy Ivanov sneaking in there. I don't think id even seen that the UFC had let him go.
  4. Off to see Hell is for Heroes tomorrow night. Nice wee tour before the new record comes out, gonna be good.
  5. Joe Parker has called out Dillian Whyte in prime Covid-era fashion:
  6. Fabio stated that the noise was more of an annoyance than anything because blood kept running into his eyes. I dont think it was as bad as it looked, he's always had a scar across his nose and it seems to open up anytime someone touches it. I think he was just knackered as the fight went on, still dangerous, but knackered.
  7. Fabio's got some dog in him. He took some hellacious shots last night and didnt look phased really until the end of round 12.
  8. The Azim/Eubank announcment was a damp squib. I love it as a fight, but nobody wants that. The Dalton Smith callout is fresh in everyone's minds and instead they served up something no one's asked for. It didn't help that Hearn and Smith basically said they knew Azim would swerve them on the callout.
  9. Yeah, it was probably the start time that I was happy about more than anything Another note, Boxxer did a great job of setting up the next fights last night. They clearly made a concious effort to plant seeds going forward. I saw some "what is this? Pro Wrestling" posts on Twitter, but it always works for. Its always a good thing to know where fighters are heading, especially the guys further down the card.
  10. The draw cost me about a hundred notes at the bookies though Happy to see Ben Whittaker somewhat humbled. He clearly came in to try and create a bunch of new viral highlights but Leon Willings pretty much forced him into fighting conventionally by the end. Enjoyed it. Riley/Lawal was a dud. * from Meltzer. Sunday Boxing is great.
  11. Fucking hell, I was looking forward to it, but I wasn't expecting it to play out like that. Absolute war. Give em 9 months off then lets seen it for Christmas, the rematch will be a big one.
  12. Manon Fiorot looking like death warmed up on the scale:
  13. It's another solid night of fights. Special mention to Marc Chamberlain, going from being a York Hall regular to landing what looks like regular spots on these Saudi mega cards. According to the broadcast last time out he's Uncle Turki's favorite fighter, the lad's landed on his feet.
  14. Whatever the fella's name is, i'm behind him. Whittaker had a pop at the main man Andy Clarke at the presser and that's something you don't do:
  15. The Hives are a tremendous live band. @textonlysucks to read about your Pixies experience though. The only time ive experienced anything close to that is the couple of times ive been to Hyde Park, but that's purely based on how quiet the shows are, i'll never go back there.
  16. was some chat about it in the Boxing News thread, but big Boxxer show going down on Sunday evening, pretty deep looking card. Worth noting this is going to be on Sky Showcase too, so no Sky Sports subscription needed. Pretty much have interest in every fight on the card, cracking stuff from Boxxer. Not to be outdone, couple good shows taking place over in America. Top Rank with this tonight (on Sky Sports): then Amazon Prime presents their first PBC PPV offering on Saturday night (unfortunately not on Amazon over here, Fite TV has it). Some weekend of boxing. Happy Easter.
  17. Watched it up until the Alfie Davis fight then got sidetracked and didn't go back to it, standard. I'll keep the thread alive though just to keep people upto date. One note though, they had completely altered the production and got shot of Big John and Josh Thomson which was a huge improvement (though Big John pops up in the Din Thomas role, which he's good at).
  18. That's the thing though, they are running the same amount of shows now that they were running in 2014, same schedule. I dont have any issue with the contender style cards either, its the just the setting that sucks. Remember the Pearl at the Palms shows in Vegas? Put them back in there if they have to stay in Vegas, a little cauldron like atmosphere, with proper fans watching. There has to be thousands of venues like that in America the UFC can utilise. Do this: Instead, we get this: Its just depressing. More and more fighters are speaking out now, people have had enough. Keep the Apex for TUF and the actual Contender Series. Also, the UFC hasn't been in Milwaukee since 2018. You stick home town fighter Rose Namajunas on there and tweak the undercard and i'm sure they sell it out, the arena there holds 10,000
  19. All it would take is a slight shuffling of the deck and they could hold every show in front of an audience again. They've done it before.
