  1. Kenny seemed to have a completely different voice in that Jericho podcast than usual... and half the time I couldn’t work out who was who!  But yeah, it was really good and such a cool thing to be able to listen to!

  2. I thought the main event was REALLY good, and both the cage and hardcore matches were well laid out. The whole show was quite long and disjointed, but it was last year too, very much in keeping with it being their WrestleMania. Not sure the Hydro is as good a venue for wrestling in reality as it looks on paper - what I though was a great seat was rather spoilt by being RIGHT behind the production desk thingy, where the guys WOULD NOT sit down - and it’s curious they didn’t announce next year’s show this time...

Well yeah it's possible to get up there, but it's not nearly as convenient as other venues in London. In fact it's probably the least accessible indoor venue of a decent size in London.

I’m glad it’s not just me. Looking at potential hotels it seems about an hour’s travel from ANYWHERE! Being a slight pain in the arse to get to is fine for a one off, but three days running it is going to make a difference to people wanting to make a weekend of it...

  4. Seriously?! I got mine after jumping through the various hoops, being vaguely threatened not to open a PayPal dispute, agreeing to some hilarious legal mumbo jumbo, etc.

The vaguely pathetic way they dealt with that whole situation after having my money for four months though is certainly the reason it will remain the first and last time I have anything to do with the company.

  5. Those first six rows were pretty much gone in the first minute of the general sale yesterday.  And, doing the maths, those would account for a chunk fewer than the 700 that they get in the ballroom, so I guess that was no surprise at all.  I missed out on those, and there's no way I'm going to pay £41 to sit behind at least six other heads and not be able to see a thing.  I pity the poor fuckers paying £35.50 to sit in row nineteen!

  6. I'm not even seeing any "OUTRAGE~!" in this thread, just a feeling that it sounded really fucking lame. I do enjoy a "feeling of worry, shock and anger" at the end of an evening's entertainment though, wish I'd been there!

PCW show in Blackpool Tower Circus on June 17th sold out this afternoon, all 500 tickets gone, 68 hours after they were made available. No matches or talent yet announced, for a show in 4 months time.

Wow, impressive! How much were the tickets?

  7. I think if you watch a match (or movie, or anything) that has been praised to such an extent, it's very difficult NOT to be underwhelmed.

I managed to watch it spoiler free on Wednesday night, cringed at some of the crazy spots, ended up about as captivated by the near falls as I have been by any wrestling match (especially on a screen as opposed to in person) and, like others have said, was surprised when I heard how long it went because I was enthralled throughout. It's definitely up there in the tippiest toppiest of half-naked-men-pretending-to-hit-each-other-based-performance-art, but I find I'm less and less of a list guy as I get older... if I see a better match this year though, 2017'll be a pretty good one.

  8. Watched Unboxing Live today, tremendously enjoyable show. Really liked the women's match - never really rated the likes of Pollyanna and Jinny at all, so it'd be great to see these two become more regular fixtures in Progress. Toni Storm especially just seems to get better and better - no doubt her time in Japan has really helped her!

The Ospreay heel turn was pretty masterful too. Metaphorically and almost literally gutting Jimmy Havoc at the very moment he chose to show a little vulnerability, reach out a hand of friendship and actually ask someone for help. It was almost Shakespearean. What a total dick.

  9. Seems a bit of a weird rush job to crown a new champion doesn't it? Also, was completely caught off guard by a combination of a late-running train and the insanely quick sellout and didn't get a ticket. I'm guessing my chances are slim on that Twickets or whatever?

Last two matches on Sunday were utterly outstanding I thought. Jinny/Pollyanna pretty much redefined false finish overkill though, bloody hell!

  10. Also, it's not even really a weekend is it? People travelling from outside London would need to take two days off work to attend both shows. I hadn't missed a RevPro York Hall show until the Vader show which was announced at pretty short notice in terms of getting cheapskate train tickets, and this double header for which I simply wasn't able to get the time off work.

  11. Well I didn't bother with tickets for this years Global Wars UK shows or the actual ROH tour, largely on the basis of going to Supershow of Honor III, and had already booked train tickets to Preston before this announcement, so needless to say I'm a bit fucked off with this development. Just sounds like somebody's decided to throw their toys out of the pram for some reason, and this new tournament looks crap - a wrestling 'World Championships' with no Japanese or Mexican participation?!

Emailed about a refund immediately too. Not heard a thing.
