Or to put it another, slightly less patriotic but more accurate way, Lays, who sell crisps all over the world and of whom Walkers are a UK subsidiary. Keep flying the flag, mind.

Lays from the Polish shop always include some winners. For a "standard" e.g. non ridged crisp, the Green Onion is very powerful.

Sure, sure. Next you'll be telling me that Axe is the main branding of Lynx and not the other way around or how about all those Opal cars not being just rip off copies of our good old Vauxhall's

  2. I'm crap at uploading pics but Lays which for those without any culture is what many places in the world label their Walkers have released 2 special flavours in Cambodia. Amok which is a fantastic local curry dish and Leas Hal which isfriend clams with Chilli.

Might actually pay the neighbours a visit again to try the Amok if they don't leak over the border.

Definitely a mix-up, a misconception I've carried around for 15 years and only just today realized was wrong. I believe I'd read this mistakenly reported on a (fake) NEWZ site around the time and thought "fair play, he got in better shape" when I saw Bam on TV, and never had this corrected.

To be honest I had to double check as thought maybe he'd got in shape, had a trim etc. Then I saw Roadkills wiki page photo of 2007 and definately not a mix up.

Well I suppose what makes an ‘indy’ and what makes a proper ‘fed’ is up for debate.

But given it has domestic and international TV deals and contracted talent, I’d still class it as a distant US no.3 rather than a traditional indy which uses talent on a more ad-hoc basis.

Yes Impact uses a lot of free agents for a few taping blocks at a time, and outside talent from New Japan on the regular, but so does AEW so the lines are much more blurred than was once the case.

In fact, even WCW did a fair bit of that.

I do agree actually. I was more talking about how I think many fans would  view them than anything related to business or deals.

And that card still could have only drawn 20,000 people, max! Them letting Hogan call out Austin on that anniversary Raw and then never broaching the subject ever again still baffles me. I know Austin had the falling out again not long after but I just can't picture that match actually happening.

This is the same company that completely forgot about Undertaker Tombstoning Cena in 2009/10 though, so it happens.

Wasn't that Vince basically trying to force Austin's hand into the match in some bizarre way? Like in Vince's head Austin would do the match if the storyline just happened to start which seems ridiculous when you think about past incidents in 02 and 05 with him.

Batista/Umaga was one of my biggest letdowns. I was hyped and certain it was going to rule. I wasn't slightly excited for Lashley/Umaga the year before and it ended up being class. 24 ended up being a great (and varied) card anyway, but if it had pulled off the epic battle of the monsters as well it would have an even stronger case as an all-timer.

Batista Umaga felt very much like Brock/ Ambrose in 2016 where one or both sides are just not fussed about doing the match so what we get is this lacklustre effort that's more card filler than worthy of the two competitors on the biggest show of the year.

A photo from this weekend's tapings from Center Stage, Atlanta, which is becoming a good little touring stop for them.

I always find it bonkers that Impact, with a much smaller budget and footprint nowadays, is attracting paid crowds of roughly the same size as the free entry Impact Zone when it had some of wrestling's biggest stars of the day.

They're more of a top level indy now than a distant no2 mainstream promotion. I guess with ROH gone they attract some of the indy fans but overall it's just! a better more.investable product than its "hey day". That said if they ran tapings regularly in arenas like 2013 TNA I'm sure they would be back in trouble fast. They know their limits.

  7. One of my favorite things about flying Vietnam Airlines is that you can go and demand as many local brand pot noodles as you like during the flight. They all taste of pretty much generic Asian food flavoring but it's a great way to keep your fluids up and make everyone around you know what a smelly fat bastard you are for 15 hours. I wouldn't mind trying the sticky rib and Malaysian curry flavors there in the thumbnail.

I really hope that one day you have the time and resources to make this into a book. It would be a treat to see it all again in that way.

With the way some wrestling/ sports books are written these days you could probably copy and paste most of the posts here as they are fantastically written. give them a small check through and publish away.

Then if it makes millions we all get a share under ukff rules right?

  9. I'd have been all for something like a Sting title win if he is/was healthy and then dropping it back to MJF at All Out. That would give the big moment and somewhat reset things back to the status quo fairly quickly.

  10. A friend of mine has done some rummaging in his parents attic and found a signed "the one" Billy Gunn action figure still in packaging from Jakks Sunday Night Heat line I'm guessing late 00 to early 01.

Any chance this is worth anything (at all) if he drops it on eBay or somewhere?

Apparently this Rikishi of the same age is about £40 these days.

talk of 'roster splits' between All In and All Out starting

Tony Kahn has to take some of the slack for this for scheduling All In and All Out a week apart

I'm waiting to see if we get All Shake it all about a week or so after?

  12. Starting a new term at work and checking on my forthcoming students. Most of them were born in 2005. The first thing that hit me was they were born after John Cena first won the WWE title and I was born just after Hogan did. 1980's Hogan seemed like an ancient relic to be in 2005 at uni myself so that means I must be a relic to these kids.

Not a chance that match is on last

It will likely be the Bloodline Civil War Tag that's the main event

God I hope they give the early cash ins a rest especially with the women. No woman has held the briefcase for more than a week or so (if that) since Carmella won the first one.

I'm actually sick of the whole premise now as it been going for close to 20 years just to make us all feel that extra bit old.

About the only premises I'd still like to see are someone holding it getting a title shot, get dq'd by battering their opponent and then pin them or actually win the title and hold both, lose and take an instant rematch.

I get where you’re coming from. But I think that’s the only way I’d actually enjoy a festival now. I couldn’t think of anything worse than sleeping in a tent these days. My girlfriend has been on at me the past couple of years about going Download or Glastonbury and it’s a no from me unless we fork out for glamping.

Last download I went to in 2012 we stayed in a hotel in town and apart from the extra faff getting a bus in and back or a taxi one night (which was hell) it made the weekend very pleasant. Being able to sleep in a warm comfy bed, have a buffet brekkie and take ourselves away from the festival when needed made it feel less like you'd been to battle at the end. Only way I'd do a big festival again.

I’m well confused. I’ve only just clocked that Rhea took the “SmackDown Women’s Championship” to Raw with her instead of swapping belts with Belair like Lynch and Charlotte did that time. What have they been calling Mami’s belt on TV? And what will they call it now??

I'd put money and probably be wrong on them having a shiny Womens world heavyweight championship which looks quite like the men's but with a white strap waiting for her this Monday.

Your bank balance would be even healthier if you didn’t waste it on Jericho’s lip-synching

Oh he doesn't lip sync or didn't when I saw them unfortunately

Well you all knew it was coming, Fozzy will be playing Kentish Town Forum on Friday August 25th.

Not surprising. Jericho and the fozzy lads actually really like playing in the UK so I guess this is a good excuse.

Is that the one with that Sticky Sticky Stick Stick song?

Hey Duggee is full of brilliant weirdness the stick song is a wonderful example. I'm a particular fan of the stoner rabbits and effiminate crab who lives with his "friend" Nigel.

We've just taken out 18 month old to Thailand for a week and as lovely a time as we've had I'm exhausted.

Just watched Picard Season 3 in about a week.  I don't think I've ever seen such utterly blatant fan service.  Everything upon everything was a callback.  Sometimes we had callbacks within callbacks.  Even I probably missed some of the references because I was too busy noticing other references.  Almost unbelievably they also lifted the Death Star battle ending of Return of the Jedi.

    Absolute perfection.  10/10.  No notes.

Been looking for this thread, totally agree 10/10 for the ending. Even the Borg Queen comeback felt like a full star wars lift from the last one though.

If I have some notes is very minor things like not getting a scene on the bird of prey, seeing a saucer separation or Janeway being in or mentioned in the scene with Tuvok and Seven especially when she is in Prodigy.

But overall what a wonderful way to end the next gen era. I'm all for a new series aboard The G and it not being the shiny sexy new flagship makes things more interesting than if we just got the F. Also definately need to know more about what Word's been up to.
