  1. Looking at that mayhem in Manchester show. Does anyone know why for years on UK we shows I think until 2001 did we have the ring on a platform. Was the ring they used over here shorter or they thought we were? Or a possible show where loads of fans couldn't see well on the floor sparked it. Always hated it as it wasnt authentic to the TV in the us?

  2. Isnt there a promo on Raw from 1998 or 1999 where he kind of breaks character to some degree, was that foreshadowing?

He also wrestled on a UK show around the time in non taker gear which was questioned years later in power slam and reported as just being a luggage fuck up

  3. In my view this former world champ could still be an NWA Champion in the promotion (remember the Al snow former world champion BS?). However it still if it is not a returning Lashley leaves;

Ken Shamrock - Didnt he wrestle recentish?

Aj Styles - Not likely as he is at the top of NJPW and working ROH etc

Jeff Jarrett - Almost impossible unless its a GFW tie in

Raven - Since mentioned above one of my top picks for a 1 off or a non wrestling role

Rhino - I know he has been in NXT but not sure how serious and maybe Dixie offered a better contract dont know why...

Sting- Cannot see, why would he unless he was pissed with WWE big time.

Samoa Joe - maybe the meetings with Triple H didnt work out and finding he is not in AJ level demand has made him go back. Doubtful

Bully Ray- A possible choice but I like to think in this day and age when guys show up back in WWE after TNA they are gunning for a role in the big leagues again so hopefully he hasnt gone back

Sabin- was going to say my top pick but he is with ROH i think so not sure he can or it would be him

Foley - Not a chance with his recent WWE stuff

RVD - been quiet on the WWE front for a while but i'm doubtful TNA would pay for him

So its go to be based on the odds Raven I think or maybe bully. Fuck knows

  4. I didn't like it. Which was odd because its something I thought they should do for a while but it looked a bit naff. I think it needs to be on 3-4 sides and fit with the ring a bit more. It just looks glued on at the moment.

How do they use it in next as a static graphic or does it have moving sequences

  5. I thought the reaction to reigns was OK and his promo was half decent. The Daniel Bryan chants are not crippling in my opinion and he handled them great. That said I read an interview with him recently not sure if it was a transcript but it would have sounded great as a promo and he should be working down those lines a bit more...need to dig it out

What's with the heyman moc cut off 2 weeks in the row. Is it a shoot as he goes off script a coincidence or because it happened last week Vince thought it would be funny to fuck with him this week?

  6. 100% agree. I hate turning on the shows now to just see the same ugly wall of light and ring colour scheme.

Thinking about it outside of wrestlemania, what was the last ppv to have an original set....Rumble 2014. The last I recall was payback 2013

Set give such a unique feel when done right, even something like the tribute to the troops with the airplane entrance way

  7. For me it was the first mania I honestly didn't care about in the build up. Nothing seemed that interesting, possibly being a uni student with a lot going on or just being an age where I hated Cena. But watching it was great most matches were good upwards and everything was so enjoyable that my lack of interest seemed stupid

  8. Had a thought about the alleged argument between Vince and Brock. I just saw some silly news piece not even worth quoting saying how with Brock possibly leaving after mania wwe is expecting a more positive reaction from smart fans. Whether that occurs or not I don't know but what if the whole argument and Brock leaving thing. Including the argument was staged to create the same Brock resentment seen at mania 20? Far fetched in some ways but there's a slither of doubt in my mind.

  9. Loved silver vision as many have said especially after paying over the odds at hmv for my first few tapes. The time in 2002 was great for me as you guys were selling off stock cheap due to the name change. I was still at school but used most of my little disposable income to get my mots on stuff. Regretted not buying more pre attitude stuff. Actually I cant remember which tapes I got. That'll keep me up tonight.

also I think it was you guys who sent me a wrong tape once and then let me keep it. Was thrilled

Out of interest what happened to the left over Wwf stock After the name change?

  10. Wwe got royally fucked by metallica when using enter sandman from my memory. It was said by someone in a shoot or podcast. Can't remember who but in 97 ish metalluca who were looking to promote a new album offered to play summerslam for free . Vince didn't know who they were and blew them off.

Forward some time and hey man insists they use enter sandman for ons so metallica ram the price up costing Vince a fuck ton of money.

I'm not sure how true it is as st anger was the summerslam song a few years before (unless that was the requested performance time) but that might have been a record company thing.

  11. I would say it took some time in 02 for it to become prestigious. Michaels Vs HBK did a good job of pushing it into legit world title areas. However then the Steiner and booker feud dropped it down with it not recovering till maybe Goldberg through Benoits win (small drop during his run) and then became a top again by Mania. What with JBL holding the WWE belt in Then with the switch of brands it was probably even till 06 when definitely the WWE belt had more prestige. I think that really stayed looking at the feuds from then with maybe being equal around WM24 and summer 09 but even when briefly back on Raw for me it felt second rate.

By about 2010 it was definitely secondary with the Swaggers and Zigglers holding it

  12. I know 3 hours is some tough shit to fill with no in ring time but they had some other options that I can think of.

Stick with the interviews and packages and then do a highlights package of old rumbles or manias

Show an old rumble or mania to promote the wwe network

Show the 24 wrestlemania 30 debut on TV or some other network content to promote it. Would piss people off less them a $45 ppv

Take some taped matches from NXT and show them or a whole episode or even fucking set up a last minute live feed if you can and have the guys nearby. Offer free tickets and beer to students and hey presto you can mix that with shit up at Stamford and you've got a 1 off unique show

  13. The way TNA market the shows and put on 3 nights in a row that's OK numbers I guess. Especially in a city with plenty to do. Friday night is of course a weekend night which helps for many reasons. Next time run just Friday or Friday and Saturday I say if TNA really care about filling the place.

Surely they need to find 3-4 cheap venues and run those for at max 2 night stints? - says someone for the 1000000000000th time

  14. Catching up on recorded Raws.

Just so we're clear, what is the difference between a Street Fight, an Extreme Rules match and a No Holds Barred contest?

Nothing much these days really. I always got the impression that No holds barred would originally have been about strangles/rope breaks/illegal moves being ok but weapons not so DQs can happen. No DQ, obvious with Street Fight being an name to promote it more than anything. Extreme Rules was hardcore matches so weapons are encouraged. Cant remember if Extreme Rules had falls anywhere.

Apart from if falls count anywhere they are all the same now really

  15. What was the biggest venue ECW ever ran? Not the biggest attendance as that was Heatwave 1999. But the actual building. Im sure I saw them use a few arenas like Nashville back in the TNN days.

Also what is the smallest venue for both TV and overall the WWE have ran in the last 20 years or so - post 1990 I guess. Hammerstein Ballroom and ECW arena in 2005/6 would be my guess - EDIT: forgetting the Manhattan Centre for Raw. Any others spring to mind?

  16. I think it comes down to the crowed more than anything. surely across the US there are more than a few decent venues of that size. However as shown the Manhattan Centre provides a vibe that might not appear in other places. So they can look hot on the new network followed by UK Tapings meaning they have a couple of months of aphetically pleasing shows. From then they should cut back and try to get the audience amped the old fashioned way by putting on a good lively show

  17. think it would work for a smaller promotions rumble rip off or perhaps a WWE TV version if they needed to do one.

Think it woulde be interesting if 27-28 got eliminated and then have a heal come out for 29 with 30 being a top or returning face who rips through them

Anyway, I just saw apparently Orton Vs Cena will be the main event at HIAC, not sure if its the good old fanboy in me but dissapointed it wont be Rollins Abrose and therefore hope the orton cena bout gets shat on
