Surely the thread closing answer to the question is Jinder Mahal?

I liked Jinder as champion. I mean, he didn't have loads of blinding matches, but as an act, with the entrance, the look, the clobber and the Singhs, I thought it was good.

He had an air of the corporate, JBL-style champion and an air of the muscleman champion, which made him a decent boss to conquer.

I was a bit gutted they took it off him.

  2. There's been far too much happening for too long for me. I used to watch regularly, but don't now.

Interim belts, ROH belts, AAA belts, IWGP belts, Trios belts, All-Atlantic belt, TBS belt on TNT, TNT belt on TBS, loads of tournaments...

I just find it so noisy and can't help but think they'd be better off choosing 20 or 30 characters and focusing on those each week, without all the extra stuff.

Then you can do a Ring of Honor as a completely different promotion, if you so wish.

  3. When Mr. Perfect came back in November 1992... was that on the cards *before* Warrior went and they needed a replacement for Survivor Series?

I've never heard anything about him being primed for an in-ring return, but he must have been ready, or they wouldn't have chucked him in.

Was the Lloyd's of London policy thing an issue and he was good-to-go but claiming, until McMahon made him a better offer to wrestle?

What was the rough plan if he didn't replace Warrior?

What's the best pubs around the area ?

Hotel is on Tyndall Street, hoping its not far from a few nice spots to wet my whistle

Everything is walkable in Cardiff. You can see the stadium from Tiny Rebel, it's across the road.

Oakwood is still open, I believe, seasonally. It's probably closer to Ireland than Cardiff though!

The day of the PPV, it should be pretty busy in the city centre, but then a Saturday always is.

It's certainly not overwhelming though... just beware of the hen do's!

  5. Ah, I thought as much, thanks for that!

Warrior/Quake would have been hot after the Hogan/Quake angle on Brother Love, but then the heat was in keeping Quake strong for Hogan's return.

You could have probably done it, but it would have needed the most delicate of booking to not hurt either the new champ or the big summer program.

Just had a thought about LOD coming in as heels against Warrior, I heard they were slated to start as heels. It's out there, but would have been fresh...

Not a Tory but we’re left with this shitshow government because the opposition gaining power was unfathomable.

Corbyn should never have led Labour. The Tories will stay in power until Labour rids itself of the far left element & aligns itself much nearer the centre & re becomes the party of the working class. Unfortunately that appears to be a long way away. The state of politics in Britain & the US is the most shambolic it’s been post WW2

All Corbyn did wrong was be a decent bloke. If that's a negative, we're all fucked.
