I was hoping they might take the opportunity of not having a crowd to do some funky stuff with Wyatt and the Fiend:

Imagine Wyatt coming out as he did but talking to Cena (prefilmed with a fixed camera angle), only for the Fiend to attack Cena from behind (live) and then having some maniacal laughter as the fiend and Bray face off in the ring to finish the show.

edit: thinking about it, they didn’t have much time. Maybe next week?

And now they wasted the idea on A cringe Miz and Morrison segment

  3. Paige turns on Team PCB 2015

Paige’s heel turn on Team PCB: I’ve seen this so many times, it seemed cutting at the time and took a stab at everyone in the Diva division, which ultimately wasn’t long for this world. It didn’t ultimately go very far, but as a one off promo, I loved this. Interesting to look back on considering all that has transpired since.

But this is the one for me: Looks to have been shot live, and the pure emotion in Rock’s face when he makes it to the curtain. Absolute gold and really shows he is without parallel when it comes to raw charisma.

The, “Executive Producer,” of Smackdown getting fired and replaced the week that they lose a million viewers, I can’t see how this isn’t a case of Vince chucking him under the bus to placate Fox. The only surprise is it happened so quickly and Vince hasn’t realised its likely to continue dropping and he’ll run out of scapegoats.

“Lads, don’t worry. I’m sacking myself. I’m a sacked man.”

“I can’t get the blame if I’m sacked!”

The next 83 Weeks could be interesting but I would imagine that there would be something in his severance to stop him from disclosing anything that has happened!

Since Prichard went back, I’ve been secretly anticipating the day we get a modern day WWE expose

  5. I can’t believe that they didn’t have either the Fiend (No selling the beating he took the night before) or Seth (Moping about the place he had to go to try and take the Fiend down).

They best be on Smackdown or all the steam will be out from this (admittedly stuttering angle)

  6. The psychology and flow was all off in that main event (even though I can kind of see what they were going for- wanting to present the Fiend as an unstoppable and unbeatable monster).

It went downhill after the Stomp and the kickout at one. Seth, desperate, hits several other stomps which fail to keep him down: this waters down the stomp, previously one of the coolest looking finishers, and essentially Seth’s best offence, making Seth look useless.

Then, panicked, he gets a chair and hits him in the face only for him to kick out, then he grabs the ladder and again he kicks out, so he moves into the next thing, but this time, hits him with the tool box but doesn’t go for the pin, instead, pouts around the ring, searching and searching for something else, which, logically, he would only have needed to do if the toolbox hadn’t worked.

meanwhile, the Fiend, the unstoppable monster, is laid out for several minutes, before popping back up and destroying Seth. If Seth has gone for the pin in between each attempt with a new weapon, only to have the fiend continually kick out, until he gets to the desperate point, only then to get back up and hit the mandible claw, it would have looked way cooler, Bray would have looked like a monster and would have been a hell of a visual. This however, wouldn’t have got them out of the mess they got themselves into by booking the match in the first place.

You can’t have an unstoppable monster in the title picture, because, for a title match to work they need to be vulnerable which ruins the unstoppable nature of the character in the first place.

They would have been better off having the match never start, maybe have Bray destroy the ref once the door was locked, with no one else being able to get in to the cell (maybe even have them scrambling to open it while Bray was destroying Seth, and when they finally get in, Seth is in no condition to compete after 20 minutes of brutality: they could have even tried a similar thing with the Seth offence this way without everyone looking like a chump.

terrible execution in a match they didn’t need to get themselves into in the first place.

  7. Just getting into the collections now. Is there anyway to prevent the ratings and disclaimer popping up between clips? It’s really jarring having them pop up every time.

is there a setting to turn them off all together??

  8. I enjoyed the Rousey/Becky/Flair match, and the post match up until Becky got cuffed. After this I started rolling my eyes because I knew Charlotte was going to do the same. As they were going up the ramp (complete with Ronda rolling on top of one of the security guards) I was shaking my head....

But then, that backstage kick fight was glorious! Ridulous but glorious. So illogical in so many ways, but super entertaining and what i love about wrestling. You can suspend your disbelief and just enjoy it for what it is. The intensity was immense, and that knee by Flair to Rousey looked brutal.

The best though, is that WWE.Com are clearly going to roll with this more over the coming days with the “stay tuned for the latest”.

Are we expecting them on Smackdown tomorrow?

  9. Enjoyed this weeks show. The Roman concussion stuff at the end was well worked and the match with Ambrose has heated Drew back up in a big way. I was worried that they were just going to slot Roman back in at the top of the card and business as usual him, but this was a refreshing switch out. Dean Ambrose also looked great and I refuse to believe he’s actually leaving.

Everything is starting to become clearer as we build towards Mania and this show made a lot of positive steps to get there.

As great as Ronda was, and this is the way to build heat back into the feud (by keeping them away from each other for a few weeks), she needs to slow down. That promo was fire, but she rushed through it. Someone to help her pace things a little better would have sent that promo over the edge.

I’ve never really gotten Batista, but HHH is one of my favourites. It will be refreshing to have him as a face in this feud. Need a couple of Big Dave cheap shots over the next few weeks and we’re set. I enjoyed the “i’ll Hurt everyone you love” line.

Angle retiring and welling up got me. I hope they find a worthy opponent for him. How poetic would it be if they slot Cena in here.

  10. I’m not familiar with this video series of hers. Is it usually a work? If so, that’s a funny work, which far from bluring the lines, has outright pointed the line out from way past it.

Again, if it’s a work, why do they need to have Ronda rant, yet at the same time have some dude brushing her hair and another lady taking her make up off. This is supposed to be the toughest Woman in the roster.

I love the feud, but Outaide of TV Ronda is messing it up for me. She comes across as someone with a short temper who types things before she thinks, which when played opposite Becky’s confidence and snide, on the money remarks makes Ronda look like a tool

  11. I said this in the other thread, I’m enjoying, particularly the Beck side of the back and forth, but I worry, especially the route its going that Vonce is going to cool on them both due to the PG perspective and we’ll end up with a Charlotte win at Mania

  12. Although I’m really enjoying the Becky and Ronda Twitter back and forth (particularly the Becky side: Ronda is breaking the illusion a little too much), I’m worried that they may be taking it too far and Vince is going to cool on them.  Don’t want them to ruin the hottest angle in years!

  13. Not sure if I’m imagining it but I thought that was a great show, well paced and went by really quickly.

Pretty much everything that happened, had a reason for happening. Every match or segment mattered. It harked back to previous events and built some suspense.

    A couple of examples:

    - Corbin being called out on his previous Roman Reigns comments, only to then have his beat down of Ambrose stopped by Reigns later in the show.

    - Lio Rush getting himself into a match with Finn only to loose and then be told off by Lashley as to how that wasn’t the original plan

    - The way each segment seemed to flow into the next.

    - The Assesnsion/Heavy Machinary angle

    - Ronda leaving the title at Steph’s feet.

Honestly, it felt like an Attitude era style Raw in terms of pacing, everyone having some sort of storyline and general amount of content. I’m sure some of this is Prichard’s influence (and i’m Likely imagining it) but if this is the kind of thing we can expect with him back i’m All for it.

  14. Man, I appreciate we are on a bit of a downturn at the minute, but is it any worse than the normal December Lull?

usually at this time of year, there isn’t a lot of continuity with the product, specifically around storyline’s, but in truth there’s quite a lot going on at the moment (Dean/Seth (needs work), Bryan/AJ (more please), the GM situation on Raw (over it).

As mentioned above the Women are stealing the show currently. They have had some fantastic PPV matches over the last few months and are really rising to the challenge

  15. I’m hoping that they take him back to the only moderately interesting phase I’ve ever had with Bray: when he worked out how to harvest the Undertaker’s soul!

They should have kept going with that angle, it was logical and an interesting way to make Bray more supernatural but they just threw it all away!

  16. I was pretty disappointed with that to be honest! When Vince handed over control to Shane for one night I expected Shane to at least appear and do something of note, but nothing, if you'd missed the opening segment and tuned in after twenty minutes would you have really noticed the difference?

In any case, with Dr Phil as the guest star next week, this is blatantly leading into a Vince and Shane reconciliation which with the Authority still in power could well lead into some sort of brand split. It's certainly possible with all the new additions and superstars to come back that we could be looking towards some sort of split, although I'm not expecting as blatant a decide as the old Raw and Smackdowm Era!

Plus, with Styles now in the main event picture, surely they have to be looking at turning Roman ahead of that match!

  17. What a great start to the in ring weekend.

The tag title match was as old school as it gets and Incan totally see the fuss about the Rivival!

Corbin's ring psychology is great and he must be due a call up soon.

Nakamaura has a very unique style which should lead to some interesting matches, he's almost a little like Auska in that respect.

The Women's title match was good, but didn't really hold me at times.

The main event was the most legitimate WWE has looked in a while, it added to the match even if it killed the pacing.

I can't be the only one who wished Dean Ambrose rocked up, completely ignored the match and came out with his cart to grab his chainsaw back!

  18. Is there such a thing as year in review shows for each year? I've had a glance but have been unable to find any. Would there be like a Special Raw or Smsckdown for each year that would summarise that year?

  19. I found out yesterday there's another volume in Stephen King's Dark Tower series coming out in the spring. My mind doesn't comprehend how this is possibly going to work...

I gave up on that series after Wizard and Glass. Such a pointless book and the epilogue did nothing to get me interested in Wolves of the Calla. The amount of retconning he's done since The Drawing of the Three is insane.
Heres an extract from what appears to be the start of the book from Tor.comCome TETCertainly left me wanting more!
