  1. I was just dropping on one of the dirt sheet sites this morning for the SD taping results when it was there plastered across the front of my phone.

Utterly stunned, still not sure I can make head or tail of it all. About to rewatch his speech from Monday Night and see it in a whole new light, so many things he did over this last weekend make sense now. Feel godawful for his daughters though to lose their dad at such a young age.

Didn't watch Raw, and like a nobhead I've read all the spoilers because I couldn't wait. It sounds like a tremendous show, but I have a question... Now Cesaro is a Heyman Guy, did he turn heel? How did it work with Heyman managing both a heel and face on the same show (assuming Ces is still a face).

    Ta.

They'll try to heel Cesaro but it was near impossible last night. Heyman managed to almost turn Brock face in his promo when Brock was getting booed left right and centre on entrance, when Cesaro said he was a Heyman guy, the pop was huge. Then the "King of Swing" moniker had a massive chant going.

I don't see them keeping Lesnar heel, he's probably going to end up a tweener. Gotta wonder what this does for Rybaxel though, I don't see Heyman sticking with them any time soon while they're being booked as dead weight in his catalogue of talent.

  2. Also, worth mentioning, the pop for Paige when her music hit? Fucking hell, most established wwe wrestlers would kill for a reaction like that, let alone someone on their debut.

Got to take the crowd into account. If her debut was on any other Raw, she'd have gotten curious mumbling at best and then a cheap pop purely for beating AJ. Same with the reactions Cesaro and Wyatt have been getting this last few days, though obviously not to the same extent.

She definitely had the right crowd to debut infront of, but when that happens on TV some stuff gets picked up (see Bryan) and some stuff doesn't (see Fandangoing).

I doubt the love in for Barrett with the Barmy Army and "We love you Barrett, we do" chants will continue, but if she can continue to get great reactions, Wyatt gets the "Whole world, in his hands" with arm swinging and "Bray's gonna kill you" chants going and Cesaro's "king of swing" becomes a thing? Those are the kind of chants and reactions that look great on TV, and translate globally.

Edit: And the Hounds of Justice chant, that needs to be a thing. Fuck I seriously cannot wait to hear Line in the Sand on WWE tv again, fucking epic theme.

  3. The crowd were far better than last year, less focused on getting themselves over and most of the time being relevant to the actual match in the ring, or maybe I'm slightly bias because I'm still laughing at the 3MB chant when Bryan was being beat down by Evolution.

If last night and tonight are the sign of the future direction the WWE is going, I'm very much hooked all over again. I haven't been this excited in years, moreso than I was during Punk's run, because it's not just one guy that they're backing the farm on for change, there's a good 9-10 different people here all being pushed into that spotlight and being set up to look legit.

    Brilliant Raw.

  4. I'm still confident the Shield will be in a triple threat for the US title. Everything so far looks like they want to pull the trigger on this split at Mania, and their ribbing of Kane seemed to be signs of foreshadowing here. For him to one up them and have them face off at Mania so he gets the last laugh seems right down his alley.

As to the Battle Royal? Cesaro to win it for me, they've been pushing his unnatural strength for ages, just watch him pick up one of the bigger guys and throw them over the top rope as a match winning spot? It's the kind of clip they'll use in highlight packages for the rest of the year to sell the DvD.

  5. I dunno, even if she's right you can be arrogant to the point of dislikeable about it, being right doesn't necessarily mean people are going to automatically like you for what you're saying.

On the complete reverse that's the reason I tend to like AJ, nothing to do with the geek attire or carefree "aren't I cute" attitude, she could ditch all of that considering we've now got Emma doing the cute role now. But just about every time she's on the microphone ripping into one of the various wastes of space in the Divas roster, I find myself laughing in agreement, each to their own but I actually enjoy listening to her.

And yes, already sick of the Bellas here.

  6. Natalya should by every right be a heel, the whole smug "I come from greatness, and that makes me better than all of you" stick is the kind of thing you want to boo the shit out of week in, week out.

As opposed to AJ who's doing all the right things to be a heel, but is just too goddamn likeable to actually hate.

  7. Yeah, but if it's true he walked out because one of the reasons was he wasn't getting to main event, I can't imagine he'd want to come back for a bit-part role.

If he comes back in any sense then I doubt he ever really walked out of the company, but that's me just being cynical.

  8. If Punk returns at Mania he doesn't need a match.

At Bryan/HHH (where if Bryan wins he makes the main event) have Kane run interference and then have Punk jump the barricade for the save, purely to even numbers and chase off Kane, then Bryan can beat HHH clean before going on to the ME.

Punk shouldn't be in a Mania match, doesn't mean he can't have a role at Mania.

  9. Only Mania booking I can see for Punk is if in the HHH/Bryan match, Kane etc. gets involved and Punk returns to make the save before walking back out through the crowd. Bryan beats HHH clean from there and goes on to win the ME. Run in, walk out, no one still has a clue what his stance is.

Ian's got it spot on, Mania's booked, where's the spot for Punk on this card to have a match?

  10. I was expecting Roman v Ambrose for the US title at WM 30, cementing the shield split and pushing Reigns to the next level.

The Cena injury looks to be legit, what it is, is still guess work. Knowing the way he approaches injuries at big events, he'll work a limited schedule for the next few weeks, painkiller through it at Mania, pull out a match and then take the time off post Mania selling a Wyatt family beating.

  11. There's a difference between crowds shitting on a poor product, and crowds trying to get themselves over at the expense of whatever quality show is on.

The latter was around tonight, you know people are just being cunts when they start Husky Harris chants through a pretty decent match. Overall a good show tonight, though the only thing that bothered me was using the same style dusty finish twice, teammate enters the ring to attack opponent when it's unnecessary and cost their partner the match.

On a positive, the thing I still love about wrestling are those little moments of disbelief, I'm still not entirely sure if Cena was selling that well or actually fucked his leg up unintentionally and they just ran with it.

Edit: Less positive, the dirt sheets are saying it's suspected actual ligament damage. Fuck =/

Ultimately, great start, but a brilliant ending, only thing missing was he should have used Lesnar's blood from the pen nib to sign the contract (ok it wouldn't actually be his blood, and you don't need a close up with a fake blood pellet to convince people. Michael Cole screaming that "HE JUST SIGNED THE CONTRACT WITH BROCK'S BLOOD" would have been enough to get the concept over) just to add the cherry on top of the mysticism and intimidation factor that is the Undertaker.

  12. I'd love to find hardcore cuts of the early 00s Adult Channel series like Banged Up and 00Heaven. Awesome stuff with tongue firmly in cheek.

That's the porn version of "will we ever see the Owen Hart death fall". I honestly think my head would explode if I saw hardcore versions of late 90s/early 2000s filth from the Adult Channel.

Some of them did get a hardcore cut released on their website, mostly the GG stuff but a couple of B/G series did too, a lot of it is up on free video sites now if you just search by the actress.

  13. Eh, I found myself enjoying the Usos vs the Wyatt's, was a pretty good for-tv tag match.

The ending was probably one of the better endings to a Raw in a while, certainly wasn't expecting Steph to get clattered and Cena's worked shoot on Orton was probably one of his more enjoyable promos, not because of the references but because it was something different to the generic Cena promo script, and it felt rather believable.

Couple of guys out among the 20 felt a bit filler material, Christian and Swagger especially. Seattle pretty much shit on HHH with the Bryan/What stuff, either he's an amazing actor or he really was pissed off about it.

Not sure about MOTY, I still think the Shield vs the Rhodes was much better.

  14. Pretty much expecting the finish to be Orton and Cena at the top of the ladder, and falling off to the floor at the same time with each other's belts.

Lead up to the Rumble where the winner faces off in a triple threat unification at Mania, or alternatively faces the champion of their choice early on the card, after some "politik" where the last person they eliminated faces off against the other champion. Main event being winner of A vs winner of B in a final match, sort of like a twist on X where Yokozuna defended twice in one night, but Bret had to face Owen earlier so both men had two matches.

  15. EA was responsible for some top music on the Mega Drive, probably my favourites.

    Road Rash

Great call. Road Rash II was one of my favourite title themes growing up.

    Also

probably one of the best Megadrive games where the music suits acts as part of the aesthetics.

Edit: For the Street Fighter themes, I suggest the CPS2 versions for Ken and Guile, as you've done for the Ryu one.

    Guile

    Ken
