  1. Huddersfield draw no bet at even money away to Barnsley with Paddy Power looks a plumb one for tomorrow. Will take a proper look in the morning and put up a line.

You wonderful bastard. If only I'd put down more than

  2. Couldn't sleep last night so was flicking around the channels and I saw Beecher from Oz in a film on the Horror channel. It was one of those DTV jobs called Boa V Python or something. It was terrible, no redeeming features at all. Then to add insult to insomnia, it wasn't even Beecher, it was some bloke who looked liked him.

I'll echo the admiration for The Loved Ones, one of very few films that has stuck with me for the next few days.

  3. I watched a godawful film called Smiley, i should have known to switch off when it first mentioned 4chan but i very stupidly carried on. Absolute shite that one was.

I saw the trailer for this recently. My main reason for wanting to watch it is that I've long liked the idea of a smiley-faced killer, albeit with a mask like this :) as opposed to the tripped-out Leatherface look that they've gone for.

Edit: Just watched it. You were right; it was a bit poo.

  4. Just watched Looper. It was different from what I expected:

I went into it with the thought that it was going to be young Joe and old Joe joining forces to prevent their death. It was pleasantly surprising to see that they'd be against each other. When they started talking about the Rainmaker, I figured it would be someone in the same age bracket as Joe, not some child with magic powers who lives on a farm, resulting in half the film being on the farm. I fucking hate farms. Why couldn't they have kept it in the city? I much preferred the first half, although I did like the moral of the story/"The lengths that people would go to" ending. Part of me is still disappointed that it wasn't my anticipated Willis and Levitt tag team, time-changing mega battle...with sexy results.

  5. The guy who played Half Sack in Sons Of Anarchy has died:

Johnny Lewis Dead: 'Sons Of Anarchy' Actor Found Dead Outside Los Feliz Woman's Home

Johnny Lewis was found dead on Thursday, September 26 in Los Feliz.

In what appears to be a bizarre series of events, "Sons of Anarchy" actor Johnny Lewis was found dead Wednesday outside the Los Feliz home of a woman who was also found dead inside.

Lewis, 28, was known for his role as Kip "Half Sack" Epps on "Sons of Anarchy" and his "The O.C." stint.

Lewis is reportedly suspected of murdering the 70-year-old woman on whose Los Feliz driveway he was found dead. According to TMZ, the woman may have been renting a room to Lewis at the time of both of their deaths.

Although the elderly woman's death has been described as a homicide, it is unclear how Lewis came to his death. Sources reportedly heard the woman screaming inside her home and noticed a group of men fighting before one man, believed to be Lewis, climbed onto the roof. It is unclear as to whether Lewis may have fallen to his death or jumped from the roof.

    Jesus.

  6. Just watched An American Werewolf In Paris for the first time in years. It's not entirely bad, however I began to think that my mind was playing tricks on me when I watched two scenes that I couldn't remember. It turns out the Horror Channel have an alternate version with an entirely different ending:

In the original version, Andy and Serafine get married on top of the Statue of Liberty and bungee jump off of it.

The alternate ending takes place several months later, with both of them in hospital due to Serafine having just given birth. Unknown to the parents, the baby opens its peepers to unveil werewolf eyes.

  7. For sure, no worthwhile company would let an active wrestler book unless they were super-over. The reigns would never have been handed over to the likes of Jobber McGee. I just can't picture him as being the most likeable person in a lift, let alone a wrestling organisation. I'm probably on my own but I've never been won over by him on the mic, either. It's like being dressed down by Little Mo from Eastenders.

  8. It's always amazed me how popular Dusty Rhodes was back in the day. I was watching the Ric Flair documentary DVD from the set they released a few years ago, and there was a bit on there where Flair talks about the territories and what a star Dusty was. Cut to two clips of Big Dust in the ring, completing a couple of big elbows before doing the fruitiest little dances known to man. Even by wrestling standards, a 40-year old bloke with bleached hair and a belly the size of the moon in tiny pants doing funny camp wiggles looks a bit strange, even more so in 1970s Hicksville, Florida.

I'm sure he had some decent matches back in the day, and he was a good promo, but fuck me, he looked like across between Big Dick Johnson, a Benny Hill character and something from a Tango advert.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure he booked himself favourably and to a ridiculous extent, in the 1980s at least. Apparently he'd be in most of the main events, rarely lose a match and pop up in other people's angles. Someone on here described it well when they compared it to The Simpsons episode "Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie", with there being a theme of "Where's Dusty?" when he wasn't on screen.

  9. It would be great if the UKFF could do something for charity. I often hear stories about what events people would take part in if they raised X amount of money for a charity of their choosing. Maybe if we raised X amount of money for somewhere like Cancer Research, the mods could do something amazing in return like, I don't know...

  10. Regarding The Big Bang Theory, I think Sheldon is brilliant. A necessary evil, if you will. The episode which tells the story of how Sheldon joined the group is a fairly decent summary of the character. Although he does come across as a know-it-all, be it unintentionally or with an air of smugness, he is ultimately a good guy. Even though I've never had a problem with him, I have found him to be more of a likeable character than he was in earlier seasons. I'd definitely recommend giving a handful of episodes a try before deciding yay or nay.
