  1. Ok, I'm late to the party, and here is everyones chance to collectively groan, then point the finger and laugh at JohnnyChimpo, but;

Does everyone here know that if you scan a UV/Black Light over the Blueprint map that came with the special edition of the game, there are loads of hidden stuff mark on there? Like, the directions to some meeting spot where you are advised to bring $500,000 with you, or an alien head, various submerssibles in the water etc.

If all y'all already knew about this, then move on, nothing to see here. But I just wanted to share that information with everyone.

  2. Anyone think Triple H would ever be a guest on Stone Cold's podcast? Personally, that would be the one I would really want to hear. How real is the beef between these two nowadays? Or is Triple H too important a figure in the business at this point to be doing a podcast interview - that basically boils down to a shoot interview. At this stage, Austin has interviewed, and gotten the individual perspectives of 3 of the 4 members of the curtain call, except the one who suffered from the fallout. I would love to hear a candid Triple H interview.

  3. I've no idea what he's like these days but I think absence has made some of you remember differently.

Nah, not me anyway. I always liked him. Just thought he was a fun, cool character. Its not rose tinted specs - I'm well aware of his limitations, and I'm in no way shape or form in the same boat as niff in thinking he could have been the next Rock or something.

    And maybe Morrison.

Yeah, I was going to mention Morrison last night in my post too. I think there is space for him on the roster these days.

  4. I really like Bryan and have been digging his rise to the top since the turn of the year pretty much. But is anyone else concerned about the way his beard is kinda becoming his gimmick? He is so much more than that. But that angle where Barrett was trying to shave off his beard, and his 'Fear the Beard' t-shirt and so forth is a bit off for me. I mean, its the kind of thing a comedy character would have as the centrepiece to their act. I know it could just be something along the lines of his appearance being one of the reasons why Vince, Triple H and the 2013 Corporation dont see him as a company figure head, but its a concern of mine over the last few weeks. I'd hate to see Bryan turned into a bit of a gimmick character.

Anyone else feel this way? Or is his act too hot and over to be really troubled by that?

  5. Anyone else miss Carlito? Maybe miss is a bit strong, but I think he would definitely have a place on the card in todays WWE. I always liked the guy and thought he had potential. Maybe not WWE/Word Heavyweight Champion potential, but he could be a good hand. That night that Edge did the first (and best) cash in of the Money in the Bank, Carlito was in the Elimination Chamber and was pretty over. Anyone reckon he has another run in the 'E in him? I for one would like to see him back for a bit anyway.

  6. I got round to listening to Steve Austin's podcast with Scott Hall today, and there was a part of it that surprised me and was hoping that someone on here could clarify if it was all true or not.

Scott Hall says one of the main reasons he left WWF for WCW was because WCW were willing to give him an actual contract which guaranteed him money. Austin comments that this was the first time a contract like this would exist for a wrestler, that this was a pretty big landmark moment for wrestlers. But I found it really hard to believe that guys like Hogan and Warrior and whomever were not getting guaranteed money during the height of their runs.

Can anyone shed more light on this for me?

  7. I have Arkham Asylum sitting untouched on my shelf, but I also am disappointed to say that I bought the limited/collectors edition of Fallout: New Vegas when it came out. I've never opened it. I was absolutely addicted to to Fallout 3, it may even be my favourite game of all time. I was really pumped about New Vegas, with the excitement building each passing week, teaser trailer into full trailer etc. Then I bought it, got it home and realised that I didnt have the heart to play it. Fallout 3 was so immersive and addictive, I didnt have energy in me to start it all over again. I kept saying to myself at the time; "I'll play it when the bank holiday weekend comes around", or some holidays I had coming up, you know, when I could devote some time to it, and get properly into it. That never happened, and nearly 3 years later, its still sitting there.

I did however, recently look up the collectors edition on ebay the other day and they are selling for 200+ quid, might stick it up there.

  8. It had to be deliberate. At least I hope for his sake it was deliberate, because how he could be posting huge spoilers, blissfully unaware while everyone else in the thread is jumping up and down telling him to shut up, means that it either had to be deliberate, or he is one of the dumbest posters we've ever had. Definitely likely to be a repeat offender. Ban him.

  9. Also, here is another question for you all. How long was Robert Baratheon King for? In the first episode of the first season, Jamie has not long slain the 'Mad King', right? Arent they at his funeral in one of the opening few scenes? So Robert took over from him? And then died a few weeks later? How much time was meant to have passed between Ned arriving in Winterfell and getting his head chopped off? Actually, how much time (roughly) is meant to have passed since the first episode to the point we are at now?

  10. My memory of this is sketchy, but did Ned and Robert not mention Ned's dalliance with Jon's mother in the first season when they were reminiscing about old times? I'm sure they've discussed Ned's infidelity at some point (with Ned being more reluctant to talk about it).

Ah yes, now I remember that scene more vividly. I only started watching Game of Thrones this year. I crammed the first two seasons in about a week in the lead up to season 3 starting back in April, so season 1 and 2 occasionally merge into one for me. I did remember a scene where Ned talked about Jon's mother, but couldnt remember who it was with. I was thinking it may have been Jamie, in a "I'm going to put you down a lot, but in a way where it can be interpreted as unintentional", like they often did with one another near the start of their relationship; remember conversations where Ned admired Jamie's armour, saying it had no scratches on it, with Jamie replying that nobody had been capable of scratching it yet, to which Ned quipped 'you must pick your fights wisely'. Stuff like that. I did remember Ned not wanting to talk about it though, which initially triggered my thoughts on there eventually being a reveal further down the line. Still Ned's reluctance to talk about it gives me a reason to think there is more to it than just some whore.

It was well known that Robert had many bastard children and that he didn't care, isn't that right? That's the impression I get. So I don't think Robert ever cared about bringing shame on his family name at all.

Yeah, thats true. Thats the Robert that we knew he had become by the timeline of the show, but we also learned that he used to be softer, more romantic, and that Cersei once fell in love with him. Which is why I said that maybe Jon Snow was Robert's first bastard son. If it was the first, then he would have been younger, more naive and it would have been new territory for him. He may not have known how to handle the situation. He may have been newly married and didnt want to hurt/shame her and his name, or he may have bowed to Westeros politics and been forced to get rid of the bastard child to avoid a scandal. In steps Ned and yadda yadda yadda. Like I said in my earlier post, I hadnt fully thought it through anyway, and I was pretty sure there would probably be large gaping holes in the theory, but hey; its fun to speculate on these things, right?Anyway, Magnum has pretty much rubbished the theory anyway by reminding me that Robert and Ned talked about Ned's infidelity. When I rewatch the show, I'm going to be paying particularly close attention to their early conversations and whatnot.
  11. Robb's older.

Thanks. I was thinking about Jon Snow the other day, and who his mother is; because they did make a semi-big deal about it back in the first few episodes of season one. I remember a scene right before Jon left for The Wall and Ned left for King's Landing, where Ned told Jon that he would be back one day, and that he would tell him about his mother, and where he came from. I also remember a scene where Ned was quite defensive of the Jon's mother, which led me to think that it wasnt just some random whore in a brothel. From what we know about Ned, it does really seem to go against his character that he would have been unfaithful to Catelyn; we even learned in the last in the last episode that Ned didnt have a bedding ceremony at his own wedding. Stuff like this always led me to believe that there would be more to Jon Snow, his history, and who is mother is. Now though it seems like it will probably just be a dead thread that never gets revisited. Again, I've never read any of the books, so this is just my own silly rambling and posturing, but does anybody reckon there is any possibility that Rob isnt actually Ned's son at all? And that he is actually a bastard child of King Robert Baratheon who for some reason unknown at the time, Ned took in as his own. The reason I was asking about whether Robb Stark or Jon Snow was older was because I was trying to see where Jon's birth fits in with the timeline. It could be that Jon Snow was King Robert's first bastard son, and that he asked Ned to take him into his care for fear of bringing shame on his family name, or that Jon mother died, and Robert was prepared to leave the baby to die, until Ned's moral compass kicked in and he took in Jon as his own. Whatever. Whatever the reason, somehow Ned 'adopted' Robert's bastard son. Anyone think there could be something to this? I can see John eventually making his way south, ending up crossing paths with Melisandr
  12. It's definitely "spout shit about the tax system" week om Facebook. Today it's an analogy about 10 men going to a bar and four of them don't pay anything, you know, cos that's the way our taxes work. I must have missed when VAT, excise duty and council tax were abolished.

And do you pull people up on it when you see it? Or just bitch about it in here?

  13. I'm not on facebook either. But something I dont really understand, why are all you guys putting up with this shit? Like you SpursRiots, you've contributed a lot to this thread with "this just popped up on my timeline", but why are you letting stuff like this clog up your timeline in the first place? Unfriend them or something.

  14. I'll stick that one in my to watch pile. Might not get to watch it over Christmas, cause while I adore good-bad movies, Mrs Chimpo isnt as prepared to sit through stuff - but is prepared to endlessly rematch bad-bad movies like Twilight, but I digress. I have to kind of trick her into bad movies, so stuff thats recent gets through her net easier. Stuff that have come out in the last couple of years - even better if its this year - like Shrooms, Chernobyl Diaries, Troll Hunter etc, I can get away with. They are all lined up for Christmas viewing so far.

Also, there is some film where a tyre goes around killing people, I seen the trailer for it recently, and its looks amazing in a totally bat shit mental way. Have you seen it Gladders?

EDIT: Found it, its called Rubber. Here its imdb page, and here's the trailer on youtube. This is going into the pile.
