  1. ITV Box Office side I think helped get them on TV with them. Cheap filler content on ITV4 with the occasional bit of cashflow coming back through PPVs. As its not like ITV Box Office had much in the way of content. It was a handful of boxing matches. I think all 3 PPVs were on it before it closed. Double or Nothing getting the most promotion. If there hadn't been the idea there could be a financial return from PPVs. I'm not sure they would have taken on Dynamite.
  2. ITV4 schedule is upto next Thursday on their website, and it is not listed.
  3. Congrats to Ruby and Ang! And to everyone else saved from Saraya v. Ruby or Saraya/Zak v. Ruby/Ang
  4. It was from last year after the interactions in the Rumble, but isn't this where some people saw Gunther and the Imperium for a spell?
  5. I don't see the promotion thing happening. In part because it might be the last straw for Linda to finally divorce him and get a cut. Instead I see a lot of lawyers getting paid, and donations to Trump/Republican PACs. Try and get that Presidential pardon sewn up as a worse case scenario.
  6. Two people that have been nothing like Jericho. Picked specific acts to work with Gunns/Acclaimed and Darby. Played 2nd fiddle in-ring and promos for the most part. Could go months without doing anything on TV. With how blatant Jericho was during the Trios match, they're either going to tack on HOOK v. Jericho for Dynasty or get added to the card to set-up Double or Nothing. Either way I'd say get ready for an FTW title reign using the gimmick to have a bunch of TV matches. So he can pretend he can still hang with people half his age, before putting HOOK "over".
  7. He's a guy in his mid-50s, if he goes away he ain't coming back in any meaningful way. He's just desperately clinging to his spot.
  8. I'm not sure on that front. There was the strongest rumour at the time he was off to WWE, only for the WWE hiring freeze to bite when the sale was going through. Considering some of the ex-NXT acts on the main roster, he would have found his way there. If he had spent the past year in WWE he'd be in a much better spot than he is now i'd reckon.
  9. Hangman feud into the Elite reunion into OC matches only disrupted from an International Title reign because of the concussion. Straight onto the Continetnal Classic where his winning streak carried the importance of the tournament, and his post-match promos helped shaped the overall style the company as carried on. He was likely to be part of the tag tournament most recently, but is has been rather obvious he was being tapped for the IWGP World Title. What a shame he hasn't done "anything significant" for 3 months after being the company workhorse for years. Something that still includes the attempt at elevating STP, CMLL sidequest, and FTR feud.
  10. The eye injury was in the singles match with Andrade. It was just as part of the tag match to further set-up the Tokyo Dome.
  11. WWF would still have existed even if Vince never took over. Its an unknown quite what they would have looked like under someone else With the way cable tv and what we think of as PPVs were developing during the '80s, companies would have been going national. Still shakes out largely the same.
  12. Better Than You BayBay - Cole smashes his ankle jumping from a ramp. MJF starts doing handicap matches and being beat down to carry it on and compensate for Cole gone. MJF ends up getting injured too. Golden Jets/Callis Family - Omega goes down with diverticulitis. RUSH - gets back to work with the C2 and gets injured early on. Mox's run with the International title is scuppered by a concussion. Leading to Fenix run which ends because he's injured as well and out 6 months and counting. Jamie Hayter's and Thunder Rosa's title reigns all end due to injury and what looks like year long absences in both instances. Punk's title reigns regardless of all the backstage drama. I can't think of a company that's been as jinxed.
  13. I bigger issue at the start of the year was booking really small towns that would be lucky to get a WWE House show, let alone TV. When AEW do almost no local advertising. Those shows were never going to do well. There's been a change on the booking and advertising shows today. They've announced all the PPV locations for the rest of the year. WrestleDream last year popped up with about 5 weeks notice last year. When it comes to overall viewership I would consider that more the casual fans, not the hardcore. They went from a .23 for the last two weeks to a .30 Which is the highest demo rating they've done since the Samoa Joe v. HOOK Dynamite back in January.
  14. Going to guess the "reporting" was either the old school Meltzer/Keller reaction podcasts that get clipped up because of their historical standing. Since Fightful are doing mop up.
  15. Okada, Ospreay and Mercedes in, with rumours of MCMG to come. PAC just returned with the likes of MJF, Hangman, Omega, Mox, Cole, Bandido, Rush, Fenix, Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker on the sidelines. AEW has constantly loaded up without seeing major departures. Its been attrition through injuries, suspensions, and now retirements (Sting and 5ish months of full-time Danielson) If people have options when their deals come in. Its probably for the best they go to wherever they feel the grass is greener. AEW could do with working with a smaller roster. Take Penta. 5 years in there's been no real development. The past 6 months forced him into a singles spot. There could have been a story there of him slowly turning heel to cope with being a singles after years of tag wrestling. Instead its just random multi-man matches, the odd win on a B/C show to get the blatant 50/50 loss on Dynamite every other month.
  16. With how baggy and toothless AEW is right now, its only fitting there's a Battle of the Belts this weekend 😴
  17. Swerve and Joe brawl happening to near silence. Currently on a neverending Copeland v. Penta match that's nailed on for a Copeland win. Crowd's dead, commentary's dead. Doesn't sound like its going to get any better.
  18. I'm just assuming the Bucks will be doing their EVP schtick of the last couple of months, with the take being that Perry has been victimised by TK and they're using their powers to end his suspension.
  19. It's not even really Cultaholic reporting anything. All they've done is listen to Meltzer's latest radio appearance.
  20. Matt Hardy is doing his best to drum up some publicity. Seen at Raw. Might be his last WrestleCon for a while. Now reported to be a free agent after turning down the AEW contract offer.
  21. Danielson v. Japanese wrestling sensation Yoshihiko. Best way to break the internet after this.
  22. Dustin getting a title shot. Billy Gunn in a prime spot this week. RVD due back for 4/20. Jericho never ever leaving. Come on TK do E&C v. The Hardys in a TLC match while you can. Sack another bunch of randoms and you'll have the budget to add the Dudleys.
  23. It has been known there was footage since it happened.
  24. Not only is it petty bollocks. They're probably justifying it to themselves by saying it will be a good way to re-introduce Jack Perry to TV. Cos you know that's around the corner. As if the mid-card isn't already cluttered enough already.
  25. Haven't seen Collision to know what was said, all i've seen is the promo graphic. Which is the Young Bucks showing backstage footage from All In. Which is where they faced FTR and are about to face them again at Dynasty. To me that's more them trolling everyone for clicks and attention.
