  1. I just watched the first two Back to the Future films. I think I'm in the minority that like the third better. I hate westerns, but it seems a lot more fun than the others, though the detail in the 2015 Hill Valley set was nicely done. A lot better than alternate 1985.

I've always been under the impression that most people thought the 2nd was the weakest, which coincidentaly is my favourite. The ideas it explored such as cause and effect, divergent universes, the future and time paradoxes stimulated my young mind a hell of a lot more than either of the other films.
It did the same with me when I was younger, but when I watched it years later when I was 21 the chopping and changing of timelines and circumstance made me think it was the weakest too as it killed a lot of momentum. I always thought getting rid of Jennifer was poorly done, but in fairness they weren't planning a sequel so without wanting her interfering with the Mary/Doc duo they had to do something to ditch her. I didn't know that until a few years ago, though.I still like it though, especially as it's one of the few films of the era that we saw the future as a positive place. Even the 'everything better for us in the future' Star Trek had gone dark and dingy.
  2. Agreed with that. My ex had that movie and I had to force myself to sit through it. It rally put me off seeing Devils Rejects or anything Rob Zombie was affiliated with :(I just watched the first two Back to the Future films. I think I'm in the minority that like the third better. I hate westerns, but it seems a lot more fun than the others, though the detail in the 2015 Hill Valley set was nicely done. A lot better than alternate 1985.I may need to buy more DVD's if I'm going to continue working at home :(

  3. I got Gotham Knight recently and i loved it. It's just a collection of ten minute animation shorts but they are all so well written and drawn you'd be hard press not to find a story you like. Don't worry about the first tale which is quite good but nothing new or special.

I watched the classic Batman movie with Adam West last night. "...and that shark was pulling my leg, like the Joker!" Wonderful camp cheese. Also watched Spinal Tap which I hadn't seen for years and forgot most of the good stuff, so it was great to have a few giggles at it all, especially the way they interact throughout the film; Mallrats, still funny but odd seeing Jason Lee look so young and playing frustrated so well after getting used to the more laid back Earl Hickey; and Star Trek VI, by far the best of them all with the political tone, especially love the discomfort between the two camps when Gorkon and co come aboard the Enterprise.Next on my list is to rewatch the Back to the Future trilogy and I may build myself up for Nacho Libre - I'm not expecting much, so with low expectations I may actually enjoy it a little.
  4. I watched Minority Report and Clerks 2 for the first time.......Minority report, pile of wank. Clerks 2 was kinda what Jersey Girl should have been. A nice romantic movie but it works and has a nice ending. The Dante/Randal relationship makes the movie, though Randalls acceptance of Jay and Bob was never really explained as the last movie they were in together Randall had them arrested.Rewatched Hedwig and Party Monster whilst working last night. Borth tremendous films. Though Hedwigs better, always love the scene where he and Tommy stare at each other in the end to reflect the main song/theme.

  5. This news comes out of nowhere. I won't lie and sayhe was in my my list of favourites, but he had some memorable matches in ECW and it was great seeing him at One Night Stand back in the spotlight for a night.Real shocker, especially now I've read the circumstances.

  6. Has anyone got any opinions on the film "Chopper" It's been really cheap for ages and i've been thinking aboot getting it..

I didn't think I'd like it at all, but my GF made me watch it last year and I loved it. I thought it would be focused around violence, but it's not... it's focused around humour which is based on violence and Chopper comes off as a crazy uncle you don't want to invite to your wedding. The extra's with the real Chopper were also fun to watch. As for stuff I've seen recently - The lady and I went to see Pans Labyrinth on Sunday night and I rather enjoyed it. I had only seen posters of the movie and hadn't seen any reviews or previews, so it wasn't what I expected.I asumed the movie would be all fantasy, and in my mind something like the David Bowie movie but more serious with less muppets. Instead I got some fantasy mixed with Spain some time after it's civil war which merged quite well. Though the fantasy element made me a little unprepared for the gruesome scenesincluded within the movie.
  7. How many times....???They point people have made repeatedly is that even if the shows were good, they consider the business model to be unworkable in the longterm, and 1PW's existence ultimately detrimental to British Wrestling in the longterm. Please actually read what people are saying :/

Seconded... this is getting way OT and rather futile.
  8. Yeah. Crimefighting, writing screenplays, television production, modelling, etc... Yeah, okay, so that one was a cheap shot. But then so was Kriss telling Herbie (or Sean as he calls him, seeing as they're buds. Both having a television background and all) that he fucks his own mother. And him calling Cage Tyler a "bullshitting yardtard" as if to transfer blame of their matches poorness to him.

I've said before that me and Kriss haven't been the nicest people in the past or the easiest to get along with, I don't see how any of that is relevant to the issues at hand. I don't have problems with either of them people.
I find this a peculiar statement, and right now I'm hoping you don't take this as a personal attack but trying to explain the frustration felt by a LOT of people here.I've always found both of you enjoyable to talk to when we were corresponding. Yourself especially. I understand that you may not have been as pleasant or nice as you seemed - I wasn't that nice a person either in my past. But we're talking about the present...The fact of the matter is all the jokes we're poking at Kriss regarding his cromonology degree, his filmmaking and everything inbetween are part of it. He lied rather publicly and rather foolishly, when he was caught out of these lies he made excuses to cover them. He has done this in the past... these lies were in the present. They're not directly relevant to APW, but they show that he is a compulsive liar - whether he excuses it as 'to win an argument' or not. We're then given the fact he lied about his name, using an alias is fine -I bet you don't know what my real name is, right?- but when you're using that alias to intentionally hide yourself from guys like Alex Shane whilst in talks with him, it's going beyond harmless and will do nothing but refelct badly on you once your caught out.If someone can be this unreliable whilst trying to make amends, how can anyone, industry insiders of fans alike, trust any venture he spearheads? Why not instead try and gain some support and work from the ass up, starting from the bottom and learning how to do things properly - rebuild his shattered reputation?
  9. To be honest, that seems a touch unfair. The Sprules/Tyler match certainly BECAME a joke with that commentary- and the match itself was poor- but from what people have said the rest of the card was actually pretty good.

Untrue, to an extent. The joke came when a guy hired to be a manager agreed to a squash as he'd theoreticly get killed. Wat happened was an encounter where one person didn't have the know-how to kill a baby squirrel (despite the claims to the contrary), and the other was just unsure what to do to cover it, and didn't have the experience or confidence to do so.That was followed by Kriss' blatant denial where he'd blame everything but himself for his involvement. I also spoke to those who published the match and they explained why they published it...

Kandiman (Sprules) used to spend hours upon hours telling us what a great wrestler he was, how he was setting up federations all over the globe, how he was trained by the best in the business, how he is beginning a successful movie career. He took great delight in trying to convince people that he was better than them, he never succeeded because we knew he was big fat liar, but obviously had no way to prove it. (A little side track if you'll allow me: I actually met Sprules at a TV taping for the show GameZville, which is how *I* learned he was a nobody, but others still needed to be convinced)As you can imagine, when we got our hands on evidence that he was a crock we just ran with it. We were the first board to showcase the match, and the Commentator (Who has apparently had legitimate job offers due to his edited version) is one of our members.

The relevance? It only started to be published because he had already started his reign of bullshit, making himself a joke before he even attempted to get in the ring. After Scorn I did a little research and heard he was asked to leave wrestling schools because he had no hope, though he was telling people on boards all over that he was the next big movie maker and wrestler.Only a couple of months ago he's claiming to have changed whilst also claiming he's worked with Judi Dench, working fifteen our days in the movie business while studying criminology - a course which invites him to make movies. With the high amount of bullshit, a history of dramatic failure and the cheap trick of using your children to gain sympathy, your really not worth anyones time. I screwed up and I worked hard to recover, you guys screwed up and nothings changed. You may have backed out of your Skydome claims after everyone and your cat said you were retarded for taking on such a venture, but you still made them, you still lied, you still cheated, you still committed what could be considered a serious act of fraud and you STILL want everyone to get off your back. Why should they?

In closing, there may not be a board of control, or governing body, but if I can do anything to improve the UK scene I'm going to do it, and if I can do anything to prevent the UK scene's reputation taking another hit, I certainly will.

That statement should go for every self respecting worker in the UK, and to be frank... you've no one to blame but yourselves.
  10. So how about this working with Keira Knightly stuff?

I was trying to win an argument. And I really don't like Evangeline Lilly's acting. Was it a lie? Yeah. I admit that. I fail to see the relevance though. I can admit when I'm lying and when I'm not.It defies belief that people are this interested in things that aren't relevant to the discussion at hand.
Here's the relevance...s6wz4.th.jpgYou're in the entertainment business and doing something in movie production? On the same forum you said you worked with Knightly and co, and are now saying it was a lie to win an argument? So where is all this movie making going if youre just working on the occasional script that goes nowhere or productions youre no longer connected with? Is that another lie? Why would you lie about something when you really didn't have to?A lot of what you've said has been proven to be fabrication - particularly the Skydome booking and how you've handled it, a lot of what you've stated as fact has been changed because you've been backed into a corner when we realise your lying. Why even bother?
  11. So again, stretching the truth MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT.

    This does help...

That I, personally, have worked with? Anna Friel, Kelly Brook, Dame Judi Dench (And I'm begging you to tell me Evangeline Lilly is a better actress than Judi Dench) and Keira Knightley. And that's just from the top of my head. I've worked with a few others that you've probably never heard of but are still famous on a national level. So I make that two Academy nominated actresses and one witha shiny gold Oscar on her mantlepiece. Oh, and a BAFTA winner

  12. BUT THE MONEY MARK HAS TO BE REAL.

 Extremly good point.Someone delicatly asked me if there was something mentally wrong with Kriss. Well, he said "Seriously like... this Sprules guy... he's a mongoloid, right?", but I knew what he meant......while there is a possibility that he does suffer from mental illness, he could just be so desperate to become all these things (wrestler, writer, filmaker, drag queen, spy etc etc) that he's tangle himself in a colelction of lies. Here we've seen him claim to be an established wrestler wanted in the US and Japan, he's claimed elsewhere to have promoted and worked in the US, on the Lost forums he spoke of being involved in film making working with stars such as Judi Dench. I don't know who he's trying to convince, us (as he only seems to lie around people who he thinks will be drawn into his reality) or himself... but every time he gets caught out he avoids the subject and runs away which suggests he does know what he's doing, but can't seem to find the will to stop.I really don't know why he pulled off this stunt, I mean... it obviously wasn't for the money as there wasn't any money involved, Maybe he was trying to get a card together and force the Skydome into it? I really have no idea. But this blatant bullshit needs to be stamped out, and although some may see it as malicious (or should I say Melicious?) - I'm glad this was shat over before it went too far.I feel sorry for his family if he is really dillusional. A lot of people have stated how bad his actions are for British wrestling, but he has a kid (or two?) to consider and I hope, again if there are some head issues, he gets himself sorted for their sake.
  13. Because when I e-mailed him - he has the same IP address as Mrs Sprules had a year or so ago.

Do you still have the email address? If so, could you PM it? I'd like to check something......I was speaking to Tom Campbell recently on MySpace and I'm now curious to find out if it was really him.
  14. Look at the date of his supposed booking. Now compare it to the date of OPWO Scorn, where he booked himself against Cage Tyler (the "bullshitting yardtard", as he referred to him on TWO).

I did apreciate the shout out and change of attitude towards me around that time.As for his supposed US booking, it's highly possible there was a place for him and that he blagged a tryout of sorts but they cancelled it once they realised what they were really getting;picturesnortonou7.th.jpg
  15. It'll be interesting to see where Kriss gets the 12k rental from. I'll state it on here though, if Ronin, Dragon and all the others who are owed money aren't paid before I see the first advert, I'll be dropping by the SkyDome to see my friend Jon to stir up an enormous amount of shit. At least I'm honest.

Every single piece of talent that appeared for OPWO was paid.

That statement was made yesterday. It seems someone is in denial (hint; it aint Majik).I don't want to jump on a hate bandwagon, but it seems foolish to try and clense yourself with all new bullshit :)
  16. I really don't see why people think British Wrestling is on life support, it's thriving in so many ways. In fact I'd say we're in a much better position now than we were a few years ago.

I'd agree with that entirely. There are plenty of good promotions with good workers with all the problems people ad with British wrestling being solved. A few bad patches shouldn't represent British wrestling when there is a LOT of good stuff out there. It's just that people pick up on clusterfuck idea's like this one and it gets more attention than the good stuff.
  17. 40 Year Old VirginI smiled all the way through this film, silly, funny and very warm all at the sametime. There were a few 'cringe' moments, oh and the Waxing scene had me in fitsof laughter I peed myself a little. Good movie.

The thing I love about this film is that you can tell its a lot of guys having a laugh. I noticed a lot of the improv in the movie and was quite thrilled to find out I wasn't just imagining it.And the end sequence was marvelous.
  18. ok folks i remember seeing a video in this thread at some point whihc had Mojo from Los Pervitos walking/running across a cover on a swimming pool.... i wanna see this video again since i thourght it was quite funny.... but i've since looked thourgh the whole of this thread and couldn't find it can anyone help me and post a direct link to the videocheers

I think its in the off topic youtube thread
    I think it had a thread of it's own. I seem to remember someone posting it and the thread being filmed with 'that was stupid' remarks. I have one of the guys video's in my favourites... so the Mojo one was easy to find;
  19. Might have been posted already..

Awesome. I havent seen that vid for about a year. I was looking for it the other night (since Im spending time at home, I introducd my mother to pointless videos online - like the pole dancer face plant* etc). I like the football manager edit, heh. Ive always seen it as a computer crashing/failed startup video.* For those who dont know what Im talking about; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1ddTy3dgnw
  20. Doctor Who stuffs....The Two Doctors.it was nice to see Troughton back in a role that wasn't just a parody of himself as he seemed to be in the Five Doctors. Colin Baker's incarnation is growing on me, as is Peri for cleavage related reasons. The story revoles around the Fifth Doctor chasing the Second when he feels Two being tortured. Believing Two to be dead, he investigates as if Two is dead, how can Five be there? Not the best or strongest story butit was fun to watch. The Face of Evil.I was curious to see this after watching a clip of Tom Baker introducing himself in the episode... by talking to the audience. This story worked really well, in that the Doctor had been to the planet he had visited before and his actions had negative repercussions - much like Eccelston's incarnation altering Earths timeline and accidentally creating the Gamestation. The story unfolds nicely and more importantly, Leela is introduced to the series and she doesnt wear a lot. Fantastic.Castrovalva.Regeneration eps always interest me and it was nice to see the Doctor wander around the TARDIS aimlessy, getting alittle insight into it, however the story didn't get interesting until the end of the third part which meant I wasn't really into the final part at all. I was never a big fan of Peter Davidson and this didn't help. Especially when he ripped apart 'the' scarf :(Other stuff;Monsters Inc.It's been a long while since seeing this movie and luckily it was on today. I keep forgetting how uplifting and well written the story is and it's unblievable how real Boo is in the movie. All the elements of this movie are perfect for it's genre - I love it.Hedwig & The Angry Inch. It's actually been a while sicne I was introduced to the film, but I thought I'd write about it here to help balance out the Who-ness. The movie is a musical about a transgendered musician (Hedwig) who's lover (Tommy) stole their work and became famous through it. The movie explains Hedwigs life and feelings through a series of incredible songs, climaxing with Hedwigs personal salvation. Great film, awesome sountrack.I now have Priscilla: Queen of the Desert to watch later after Some Like it Hot and Doctor Who. I'm having an incredibly camp day
