what exactly was Nick Wayne's mum's issue in this case anyway? Christian called him "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, and then she came out upset about it? Bit of an overreaction on all fronts there.

He has kind of been brainwashed by Christian.

I still contend that Nick Wayne's mom should be nicknamed "Got it going on"

  2. Knight is an insanely good talker and is a bit of a nostalgic act with a lot of their fans with many of them growing up on Rock and Austin and seeing someone take their candances and mould would make some fans go "I love this guy"

I gave a gut feel that Reigns/Knight is going to be like the Summerslam main event. It's going to be shit and everyone is going to shit on it. Even the "@wweloadofnumbers twitter accounts who normally go ape for average yet hated that Tribal Combat rubbish

They best be keeping Nick Wayne with Christian long term otherwise he’ll be a total afterthought very quickly.

If Nick Wayne being on telly means his mom is also on telly, I say have Nick on as much as MJF is on AEW TV right now

  4. It's two very different situations but this is the anniversary of Tony's mom being so I'll so maybe he's not in the right place mentally.

The 1st anniversary of the death of my mom last month got me in a shot place mentally.

People are different when it comes to shit situations. TK should get off twitter for a few weeks and maybe even take a few weeks off and go on holiday.

It's not a thing, but it refers to the titles they hold in CMLL - Mistico is the NWA World Historic Middleweight Champion, and Rocky Romero is the NWA World Historic Welterweight Champion, so it's a nod to them both holding titles in different weight divisions, which means they'd be unlikely to compete in a singles match in Mexico. I'm pretty sure this is their first ever one-on-one match.

It's a potentially huge get for AEW - Mistico is one of the biggest box office draws of the 21st century (Luchablog brilliantly explained him as "the biggest casual fan draw, as long as your idea of a casual fan is more expansive than 'somebody who watched Monday Night RAW in 1998'").

I don't expect he's going to turn things around overnight by any means, but he'll draw some curious eyes, especially if this is more than a one-and-done thing. AEW has been stop-start with their luchadores, as they have with pretty much everybody else, but having one of the biggest names in lucha (even twenty years past his best) will hopefully continue to grow that aspect of their business, and their Hispanic viewership, and will almost certainly pick up a bigger live audience for this show.

The most interesting aspect is that I'm almost certain this is the first time that AEW have booked a CMLL-contracted talent. The relationship between AEW and AAA has been rocky, but seemed to be on steadier footing with QT Marshall winning the Latin American Championship, and now I'm not so sure. This might be Tony Khan having an opportunity presented to him and just running with it, with CMLL happy to let him book Mistico so long as it's against someone else who works CMLL (which Romero does) and that no AAA talent appear on the show. If it were a full-fledged CMLL working relationship, I doubt Rocky Romero would be Tony's first choice of opponent for Mistico. But if this is laying the groundwork for shifting their relationship from AAA to CMLL, I'll on one hand be disappointed - I watch more AAA than CMLL, and think some of their younger talent have more upside for an American market - but on the other side, it opens up a lot of possibilities for future matches.

So it's for the Light Middleweight Title then?

Dressing her up as a teenage witch and making her do frowny face has only made her more cute really

Do you really need to tell us all your fetishes

Watching the Shane Haste promo reminded me that Vince McMahon thought it'd be a good idea to but him in a mask and in the Antifa faction

  7. WWE being in Colorado as every media outlet is going insane over Deion Sanders and Colorado is a case of "you don't have to be good, you have to be lucky"

I can imagine Triple H doing the "Can we have a pool dad" from The Simpsons regarding Mania 40 to Dwayne

Someone writing for the WWE isn't likely to have the credits for a current membership. The job in WWE itself probably could end up being categorised to qualify, but then that would require the writing staff to unionise to pursue it.

WWE have at many points had adverts for writers and hired soap opera and comedy writers with plenty of experience (they had the Days of their Lives associate head writer of staff at own point) so I am surprised that they have no WGA writers there unless Nick Khan saw the strike coking and made sure the building was clear of WGA members when May 1st came by.

  9. The Rock is the The Rock. He's rather good at this wrestling thing. McAfee isn't too shoddy either even if I can't take him seriously after Mike Ryan's impression of him on the LeBatard Show.

The fact there was crowd sweetening tells how addicted WWE is to it. Dwayne could have given a 15 minute summary to why All Out was great and they would have been eating out of his hand.

Austin Theory is the Lidl Grayson Waller. Just nothing happening

As for the potential "picket line crossing"  It's whenever it suits them best when they can claim to be sports or cinema. Right now they are sports.

I'm actually surprised that they're not getting hostility from the WGA. Nick Khan claiming that no union members wrote for them was, making for a protest from the WGA outside a show and with WWE being so eager to be "cinema" I would have thought they had writers from movies and TV there which means they are WGA badge holders.

No doubt. That doesn't mean that Meltzer's "reporting" is any more credible though. Hasn't he been intentionally duped and shown up as being gullible in the past?

After they had been out scooped (again) Bryan Alvarez tweeted that Miro and Punk had got into too.

Which was quickly dismissed by everyone as "bants" between the two.

Meltzer and Alvarez haven't been relevant or accurate ever since they tied their mast fully to the Elite and were no longer impartial.

Kids, stay away from that guys house.

He reads Nick Hausman's stuff and believes it

That guy is neurologically divergent right (i'm being polite here)

Do people actually notice his opinion.

I'm a cunt half of the time but I know the right time not to be a cunt.

And the "you guys can't handle the truth" tweet. Fucking hell

    You do not.

Edit: but you should. Its mad how more events don't do a comms style thing to allow you to listen along if you want.

AAA do live commentary over the Pa and it's the worst thing

ITV don’t deserve wrestling. But they are showing All In on ITV4 on 31st August from 21:00

Are they going to interrupt it halfway through so Mark Pougatch and Ian Wright can preview the upcoming football.
