  1. Had the global Coronavirus pandemic not occurred it would be interesting to see how this would have played out this month. You had WWE NXT:UK running in Glasgow at Braehead Arena the same weekend as ICW was to run Shugs House Party at the O2 Academy. I'm guessing the landscape of that weekend would be pretty different from the speaking out movement.

Would there be fans snubbing ICW? Would the promotion take a serious stance and not be shying away from everything. How would WWE be handling this with having a relationship with ICW? Would Uncle Paul be walking away from it?

  2. There's been some tweets going around that apparently that the parents of El Ligero have been telling his former fiancé to be quiet about their son. Ex fiancé new boyfriend taking exception to it cue more negative tweets about Ligero.

  3. The main event was to be a fatal five way. Three out of the five people in the match are on the list.

The only two who aren't are Ace Austin and Eddie Edwards.

I see this as a massive chance to put the strap on Ace.

Have him win the title but you have Trey from The Rascals come out to cost Austin the title but by accident hit Edwards allowing Ace to pick up the belt.

You can play it the weeks after the PPV of who knocked Trey out and small bits of the puzzle come together to finding out it was Austin all along who jumped him.

Both were meant to meet in the finals of number one contenders title tournament. Take a chance on these new generation youngsters to be your main event of the brand.

Not sure how that's linked to this thread, her contract was coming to an end and it sounds more like she just didn't want to do any work so was told to do one.

Theres an article on the metro website covering this. It reads that the contract was terminated and not naturally expired without renewal. They mentioned the racism allegations of Blanchard in the past but don't specify that is the reason for the contract termination. She was on the list going around. I thought perhaps her name being on that list and having her contact terminated would be linked.

  5. That's the Twitter of Kid Fite and Premier British Wrestling had all tweets deleted as well as his girlfriend. His Ross Watson account on Facebook has been deactivated as well as the Facebook for PBW.

It's been good to see the FPWA, Discovery Wrestling and Wrestlezone being proactive on social media and gaining trust from the fans and also the people it works for.

  6. Mark Dallas has been known for ages to be a raging alcoholic and a drug taker. He's got this obsession about being Glasgow's most famous entertainer. Walks about Maryhill and Glasgow city thinking he's the man. Does his own comedy shows. Gets bit parts on BBC Scotland online The Social.

The taking the drugs and the alcohol is to fuel himself living the lifestyle of the famous.

Ultimately he isn't fully responsible for ICW these days. He sold out a while back. He is merely there as the founder and paid staff of Triple G Music the gig promoting firm. He still has backstage authority over the talent and anything backstage will happen on his watch so it is extremely unprofessional for all this going on and for him to blame drink and drugs plus any mental health issues it's just a cop out to take responsibility and ownership for this happening on your watch.

Triple G Music are a larger concern to ICW so I guess they will be closely monitoring the situation and if they want to sever ties with ICW and Mark Dallas they can do so at the drop of the hat at any chance of stink coming near them.

  7. And now I have that awkward moment at work being the known token wrestling fan and a colleague asks what is the wrestling all about that you are into? They only know of it through one of the victims being a mutual friend then got curious and read all the shit going down on Twitter about other stories. Never have I cringed about being a wrestling fan so much right now.

Plus that apology from Kid Fite. What planet is he on? Is he posting expecting to get likes and we forget it all happened?

  8. Agree with what all has said.

It's just that there will be a number of promotions who have continued to exist based on running things to a very tight budget in order to keep running.

Some promotions may not wish to incur any costs and feel as they have done nothing wrong they shouldn't need to fork out for the expense. I agree those that think like that should maybe not promote anymore.

I'm all for regulating things and having the necessary measures put in place to make it that a promoter is first and foremost making a conscious effort to safeguard talent and any minors involved with the event. The second to be trustworthy for the fans to purchase tickets.

  9. This has all been a very sad and depressing long weekend.

In regards to regulating the business a number of independent promotions in the UK work to an already tight budget and have some of the talent double up to do other duties.

If you are a promotion that runs a town hall once a month draws 350-400 fans each month at a £12-15 ticket price you have all the various overhead to cover. You have venue, talent fees, event marketing, travel and accommodation. If the promotion doesn't own its own ring then ring hire, production that's not included with the venue hire. There will be other costs that I will have possibly missed.

Most promotions will struggle to add the cost of professional people in such as on hand medical personnel for all events.

The wrestlers and anyone backstage might not be willing to pay for any disclosure checks. You could have a scenario where talent are looking for promoters to foot the bill for PVG checks but then the promoter may turn around and say you don't get this yourself you don't get work. Independent wrestling is run on a shoestring budget at times and people will cut costs at every chance to make themselves more profitable. I just hope the industry gets together and is on the same page and there is some sort of regulation and people get themselves disclosure checks.

  10. I once met Bret Hart in Wetherspoons in London.

It was the London Wrestlecon organised by PSI events.

The convention was on for two days in The Grange Hotel in Tower Bridge.

At the end of night one I went in for a drink to Wetherspoons next door. Already in there was all the World Of Sport guys including Marty Jones and Johnny Saint as well as Gangrel. They actually allowed me and my girlfriend at the time to join them and listen in on their stories of the old days. Johnny Saint can fair drink 8 pints of John Smith's and he was still coherent.

Bret Hart walks into the pub. He was there to meet Harry Smith for a drink. Harry was meant to be there for both days but issues with flying in from Japan meant he missed the first day. He had came straight from the airport and hadn't even been into the hotel next door to check in. He went straight for the bathroom it just so happened I was in the bathroom at the same time as him when Harry walked in with his case and went for a piss at the urinal next to me.

Was good to see Harry Smith is a cask ale drinker and had one of the guest ales on.

Got a selfie with Bret and also Johnny Saint
