  1. After reading that interview with Khabbib from the Sherdog website it really makes me start to believe what Khabbib said was bang on but Dana came out on the first UFC show of the year and went with a huge and smart tweet before the show started to get those ratings boosted for that show (On a new network none the less) Then he comes out and acts like it was super positive and Khabbib was running through walls to come back. Dana just went back to pro wrestling booking threw out a reason to buy/tune in to the PPV too see what the main and co-main would pull out the bag and who would Khabbib choose after it was done........The answer is fucking no one because he retired and he is a man of his word and will not be forced into breaking that promise to his mum & dad.Β

He has said Never say Never but it's not going to be anytime soon if at all. Dana needs to wave the white flag and accept it. He is turning into a weird ex partner that won't accept it's over. If you don't want to "STRIP" him of the belt then ask him to put out a statement and say he is vacating it that way everyone goes home with there heads held high and no one looks bad (Well Dana can't look much worse right now)Β

  2. Is it pretty much guaranteed then with the world still being shut down and very unlikely for them to have fans in attendance for Wrestlemania this year the won't be going with the original speculated plans of doing Roman VS The Rock this year then??Β

If so what does everyone think they will go with instead as the main event for mania this year?

  3. I've been thinking about this loss and what's next for Conor since the PPV ended on Sunday. While we have all said Conor has changed and grown up slightly in the way he is speaking in interviews and press conferences, I think one of Conor's best assets something he has been able to do better than pretty much any other fighter in the companies history is the ability to get into his opponent's head and have 75% of the battle won before he even steps into the cage. I think if he want's to have a shot at getting back to the top spot if indeed he truly want's that at all. He has to revert back to that larger than life character and demolish on the mic like he used to do. This nicey nicey love and respect everyone approach he has adopted isn't working at all and he is appearing more normal and regular instead of this guy that will do and say anything to get the job done.

    Jesus. Look at his eyes!Β

I rewatched it last night before I deleted it off of the Sky box. When I watched it live, I thought Conor did enough to take the first round. Second time around, I'm not so sure. Poirier never really looked troubled.Β

Yeah man I see where you coming from with this, I've rewatched the Main a few times now and I'm not entirely convinced the first round was absolutely Conor's round. Dustin got the takedown controlled him there, Then in the clinch against the cage Dustin answered everything Conor threw at him (Shoulder strikes/punches) Dustin also landed a few of the calf kicks that eventually led to the KO in the second during the first round. I've seen thrown around on various youtube reviews that Conor landed more big shots that hurt Dustin. I think yeah Conor laded a few clean shots but Dustin took them and landed some right back so I'm not convinced it was 100% his round.

I was litterally just watching the interview on ESPN with Justin Gaethje and he said the rankings now stand as #1 Dustin - #2 Justin - #3 Olivera - #4 ChandlerΒ
So I mean surely Justin has to be in with a argument to face Dustin for the belt next?

  5. I've just gone onto youtube and there is indeed a Interview with Jake Paul on Ariel's podcast talking about the Ben Askren fight in April.
I cannot believe this fight is not only actually happening but is the main event this is insane. Is this what it's come to where because of Conor McGregor every MMA fighter now thinks that going over and doing a boxing match is a good idea that will have the same response and hype that the Mayweather Vs McGregor fight got to. I can't see this being anything other than really embarrassingΒ

  6. Spot on Carbomb your also 100% right there. Another big problem and point that hasn't been mentioned as much IMO is Conor and Dana for so many years now have completely bought into the fact that Conor McGregor for the longest time was the biggest star in the entire history of the UFC and no matter what that guy does within the company or indeed outside the company he's got away with so much......Probably fucking way way more than anyone else would ever dream of getting away with just because of the star power and like I've mentioned the mystique that has surrounded him for his entire UFC career. There is only so many times you can let someone get away with blatantly taking the piss and being a fucking cunt outside the octagon before you look at the bigger picture and accept that those things are massively hurting his reputation and fanbase, That's without factoring in the losses to Nate/Khabbib/Dustin.Β

The sheer amount of money they throw at that man to get him booked and top of the bill is fucking staggering and is about 50x the amount that MOST main eventers even dream about making. I've just seen on twitter that the Issy vs Jan title fight is booked for March 6th (UFC 259) IF and it's a massive IF Issy goes in there and gets the job done and becomes a 2 division champ (Which he and Dana have said if he does win he has the absolute intention of remaining active within both divisions and defending both) Then that's another big selling point that Conor has struck off the list.......Yes he was the first to do it, But he also instantly got stripped of 1 of them because they knew there was absolutely 0 fucking chance he would or could defend both of them.Β

While I accept Dustin said in the post fight presser he would be happy to have the trilogy fight with Conor straight away or Nate if he doesn't get the title fight next, Why would the UFC and Dana want to hold back Dustin from having that title fight a position he has grafted so hard to get and been regularly active, Nothing at all negative or bad thrown his way and when he has had a couple of bad nights and losses he has held his head up and worked even harder to get to the top of that division only to give Conor what he feels he wants instead.Β

I personally think Conor is being quite smart there and heard Dana say that Khabbib is staying retired and has no intention of coming back and knows full well that Dustin is next in line for the vacant title shot and feels that trying to get that immediate rematch/Trilogy fight with him could possibly be made for the vacant belt meaning it's another smart way of trying to edge himself in the Title picture when he has proven he has had his chance and now whatever anyone says should be fighting someone that is in the top 5 next and needs to rack up a couple of wins before he should even be entertained as a title contender again.Β Β

McG clearly hasn't realised just how much his star has fallen if he thinks he can get a trilogy fight with Poirier. In previous years, I'm sure Plastic Caesar would've been all over that, but now he sees the writing on the wall and realises that McG is just not worth the return any more, given the infrequency with whichΒ fights, and how much he appears to be on the slide.

The Diaz fight is the one to make. And I know I'm getting predictable in saying this, but it shows just how much of a waste it was to let him go, but Anthony Pettis would've been a fun matchup too. McGregor vs. Hooker might not be a bad idea either.

Furthermore, at firstΒ I didn't agree with Poirier about Chandler "just coming in" and having not earned a shot, as I thought it was unfair to ignore his Bellator record, but on mature reflection, I rather see his point. So Chandler vs. McG might also be a decent option.

I 100% agree with you on this I think this loss to Dustin is incredibly damaging to anyone out there that isn't looking through the rose tinted glasses that most McGregor elitist's see through. It also isn't just the fact he was beaten it was so much more than that, The fact he got his leg shredded by those leg kicks and then stupidly said that he hadn't trained to block them which is mental when you listen to the interview with John Kavanagh where he stated they HAD trained to look out for those but they did it in a training setting with shin pads on which isn't the same ect ect. Then the fact he threw all he could at Dustin and he just eat it and got the eventual win via KO which no one has ever done before.Β

In that interview I just mentioned above with Ariel & Kavanagh he said he didn't know what was next for Conor weather it will be another MMA fight OR a Boxing fight and as soon as those words exited his mouth I laughed because if Conor even entertains the idea of fucking off out of the UFC again to go do yet another boxing fight which he has 0 chance of winning and will just be in it for the big payday then I truly believe he will turn round and find that the core MMA fanbase he has left will have said fuck off and turned there backs on him completely leaving him with very little options left at all.Β

On top of that someone I was listening to on Youtube or a podcast made a fantastic point about his ridiculous dreams of this boxing fight, Dana and the UFC had to sign off and give the okay for the Mayweather fight to go ahead and take place as he was under contract with the UFC and anything outside of it is essentially breaking that contract so it needed the okay from Dana and the UFC. There isn't a chance they will give the go ahead a second time around which as a result would mean 1/2 less opportunities for him to fight for the UFC and a couple of people have said they don't think this fight that Conor wants with Manny Pacquiao is remotely as big as the Mayweather fight was so it isn't at all in there best interest to let it happen a second time. If Conor is being serious and not bullshitting and trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes and he IS still passionate and determined to be in the UFC then he needs to accept the loss that just happened, Pick himself back up and get the next one booked in for May/June time. Like you said his star power and that big untouchable mystique he has had for the past 6/7 years is rapidly fading and doing anything else will fuck it up entirely for him.

  8. Apparently Conor is saying he want's the Dustin trilogy fight straight away which I think is wrong and not the right move to make.Β
After this past weekend Dustin has worked his bollocks off and deserves to fight for the vacant title next whoever that is against.Β
If Conor thinks that the trilogy fight with Dustin is bigger and better matchup than the Nate Diaz trilogy fight we have all been waiting for 3/4 years now then he is more mental than I even gave him credit for.

  9. Yeah I absolutely agree with what you said there with people making excuses for Conor and saying well it's because he's not been as active ext ext. I think it's actually more the case that while Conor has been fucking about doing 1 fight in a year, Retiring, Trying to get another worthless fucking boxing fight that he has no hopes of winning at all, And all the while guy's like Dustin ext has remained active and training extensively getting better and concentrating on being the best he can be and a genuine title contender based on his hard work and wins. Whereas Conor has relied on his previous achievements and his name value to do what he has done and be in and out of the UFC and not doing what the rest of the roster has done.Β

There was a massive amount riding on this fight and Conor needed the win not only to go on and potentially get the title fight even though he didn't really deserve it but now he has gained yet another loss but this time he can't really use those arguments he has made to let him come back into the company and leapfrog over all those worthy/hardworking/loyal/dedicated full time fighters and finds himself in a position where he needs to stick to the plan he made last year with wanting to have 3/4 fights in the year but now he needs to go in there and get wins because I think he is now at a really dangerous point in his career in the UFC and another loss or losses this year will completely destroy the Conor McGregor machine completely and there will be no coming back. I'm listening to the review podcast by Bloody elbow and they just made a fantastic point with this loss.
They said for Conor his previous losses have been by submission meaning he still had that aura about him being untouchable in the stand up and him being beaten by knock out is almost unthinkable. Well that just happened so he has lost that aura making him just another big power punch fighter but the he can't be beaten in a stand up fight has been lifted now.Β

It's such a weird place to be when your talking about arguably the biggest name in the UFC's history. But this is all his own doing, There is no excuse for it all this is down to his own doing and even the most diehard Conor McGregor fans are going to struggle to make a good valid argument for him.Β

Thank you very much for the recommendations. There is an awful lot about him that I don't know so that opinion I have of him probably isn't a fair one - it's also not a fair reflection of the individual or his abilities.Β

I'll search for them and that will be my afternoon/early evening viewing sorted. Tyson Fury was someone else I initially held in low regard because of the headlines, notoriety and obscene amounts of money involved but one interview I saw changed it completely. I went and read up on him, watched his interviews and different bits and pieces and he's now one of my favourite sports persons. I'm thinking that there might be some similarities with Connor McGregor.Β

Oh dude I actually 100% get you with regards to Tyson fury. I don't watch boxing and as a stand alone sport It bores me so I'm not at all knowledgeable about any names really bar the big ones that pop up everywhere and on TV shows like a league of their own and Jonathan Ross ext. But I had heard bits and pieces about Tyson fury and some of the weird and wonderful things he has done at press conferences ext and in the media with his drink and drug habits. So I didn't have much of a high regard for him, until I saw his interview on the Russell Howard hour of all places and he spoke out about his mental health issues and I thought wow that is a really interesting and open interview that really moved me and I've been a fan ever since. I would have to add I'm much more a fan of him as a person and I'm currently reading his first book which talk's really openly and honestly about everything including his mental health issues and because of that I will more than likely be watching his fight with Anthony Joshua this year if it does happen anyways.Β

  11. I'm so tired I'll make a proper post talking about the show later but I don't know if any of you guys have watched the post fight presser yet but Dana was out first and he really didn't look happy at all, in fact he looked super disappointed and bummed out. You quickly found out why when he was asked had he spoke to Khabib after what went down on the show and he said yes he had and Khabib basically said he is several levels above everyone else so there isn't any reason to come back and as he promised he won't hold up the division. So I'm taking that for what it is and seeing it as Khabib is staying true to his word and retiring and the belt will be vacated meaning Dustin Poirier will fight SOMEONE for the vacant title. However in Dustin's post fight interview at the presser in my opinion he was really disrespectful towards Michael Chandler and said he won't be fighting him for the title as he has just come into the company and hasn't done anything to prove himself or earn the privilege of fighting Dustin for the vacant title........Even though in the lead up to this PPV it was pretty much unanimously agreed by everyone that the Co-Main & Main Event would be the semi final in the unofficial title tournament to decide who will face each other for the belt.Β

It's a huge shame because going in there and beating Conor like he did when pretty much across the board by everyone Dustin wasn't just the underdog but he was pretty much counted out by everyone in the world and even though I was shocked, I was so impressed and thought what a guy he truly deserves it. Only for him to go into the presser right after and be incredibly disrespectful and abit of a dick towards Chandler who went in there last night and fucking showed the world he is legit and not just another guy from Belator/the B leagues that can't hang with the A list/top tier guys. I think Chandler vs Poirier is absolutely the fight to make after last night in every way.

I don't watch enough UFC but I've never really understood the hype around Connor McGregor. There's been a few flash in the pans (in my opinion anyway - McGregor, Rousey, Alves) who have had a media/hype circus around them and just as suddenly they're losing fights and the hype disappears.

What would you recommend in terms of reading/watching so I can educate myself on him? Any fights of his that I've seen he's lost so I don't understand how he's made so much money. Any info or nudge in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks!

If your talking about educating yourself on Conor McGregor I would absolutely suggest watching his film "the notorious" and there is also a 6 part tv documentary that was made during the period of him fighting Jose Aldo/Eddie Alvarez also named "The notorious" Which is really interesting also dude. If you want to see behind the scenes/build up stuff about Conor from the days he was all about being the best UFC fighter and not just in it for the money.

    It’ll be midnight, we’re on US time for this one. BT has the televised prelims starting at 1am so it’ll go;

    Midnight - Fight Pass prelims.

    1am - Televised prelims.Β

    3am - Main card.

I expect the Poirier vs McGregor fight to get underway sometime between 4:30 and 5am.Β

Thank you very much for confirming those sir. I had planned to set my alarm for 12:30 get myself wake and sorted which I think I'll stick too. The first half of the fight pass show is usually them talking about the main card anyway so getting up at 12:30 means I should catch at least 1 of those fights if not both. I need to ring sky up just to make sure everything is good and ready with the PPV because weirdly when I go to the box office part and click on the show it says rented but it's not allowing me to record it for some reason which didn't happen for the last PPV I bought on BT sport box office

  14. It's weird now were nearly here I'm slightly excited but not nearly as much as I thought I would be and have been for previous McGregor PPV'sΒ
It might be down to me now being in recovery and not drinking or doing anything else But I've stocked my fridge full of cola and Monster's. I'm just dreading already that alarm going off to wake me up for the show, I'm hoping and praying that this show doesn't go anywhere near the amount of judges decision's.

With that picture of the line up you just posted does that mean the fights start at midnight not 1pm?

  15. So the press conference did have fans & it was pretty much a carbon copy of the Conor vs Cowboy press conference.Β
The reported quite respectfully I thought asking Conor about the new allegations/police report that has just come out and having the fans in attendance boo the reporter and Conor himself looked really pissed off with him asking about it but come on now let's be fucking honest he has had so many sexual assault allegations be pointed at him over the past 3 years and he has got away with it pretty fucking smoothly when it comes to doing interviews and press and them not mention it or act like it's happening. I don't think for 1 minute that reporter was out of line or overstepping the mark.Β

  16. 3 minutes ago, Dzeko10 said:

Is it just me but is anyone not that excited for the McGregor fight? Back inΒ 2014-2017 it was such a highlight but this time fighting abroad which can't be helped and Conor being all respectful makes it a bit boring to be honest. I think it's because we know what Conor is really like that it's hard to get into one of his fights the same but he's obviously a very exciting fighter in the cage.Β

I was having this exact same conversation with my mate last night!! This is pretty much spot on with how I'm feeling about it and when I sit and think about the sheer levels of excitement I would be at a few day's before a Conor McGregor PPV compared to what I'm feeling now it's a massive drop. Conor will always have his cult like hardcore fanbase that refuse to accept he has done or can do any wrong but I think this does show the decisions he has made and several other important factors has had a impact overall.Β

I have to go pick up Chester from nursery at 1 so I won't be able to watch it live unfortunately but after the embarrassing - Cringefest that was the McGregor vs Cowboy press conference last year you know today is going to be pretty much a repeat of that and say what you like about that man he only became as popular and exciting to watch because when he was put in front of a microphone or in a press conference situation he would be unbelievably entertaining/funny/unpredictable and that will not be the guy we get today. Nothing that will go down at the press conference today will help to create buzz/excitement/PPV buys. I think we are at the stage now where Conor's name on the marquee is the only thing that shift sales not the build up or promotion that they do because in 2021 Conor McGregor just isn't that fun/one of a kind character anymore. However he is still a phenomenal fighter in that cage but let's be truly honest that's only a fraction of the reason he became such a megastarΒ

  17. For anyone in here interested the Conor & Dustin press conference is happening today at 1pm (You will be able to watch it live on Youtube)

However I just read online that apparently there aren't going to be any fans there for the press conference which I'm shocked about as even Conor said in his interview with BT sports & Ariel that there were going to be fans allowed in for the presser.

I didn't do the mission as the Detective so I'm not sure if the clues are the same ones you can scan with your camera anyway, but the ones I found were

    Β  Reveal hidden contents

Shoes and Intel in the bedroom, footprints on the steps outside, Whiskey and intel in the room with the corpse, intel in the Greenhouse and a couple of others I forget.

You're right though, the second mission is more fun than the first. I've always enjoyed the smaller maps over the big sprawling buildings and streets. My favourite mission in any Hitman game to this point is still the BBQ at that house in Blood Money. The suburbs in the last game were fun too.Β
I will admit however that I've buggered up both the first two missions so far by getting so far in, getting caught and then it turning into a bloodbath. Just wall to wall corpses, 0 stars on both.

Ahhhh well I just said to my partner that although I'm really really really enjoying the detective route for the second mission, I know that whatever route I chose when i replay it will be way way harder as you won't have that 1 disguise that pretty much let's you roam around undetected and unbothered for the entire mission. Also I 100% agree with you on your opinion on the smaller missions, The one I enjoyed the most (I think it was from the last game) was the mission where your on that nice quiet housing estate while the entire neighbourhood are enjoying a BBQ/Get together at one of the houses you can go round different houses, Some of which are up for sale so empty but you can explore secret passages in the basement or cool shit in the attic ext. While I did enjoy the first mission and it was truly breath-taking (Exactly the same as Paris and Miami in the first and second Hitman games) This second mission has really gripped me and I have been given the opportunity to frame people for the murder a couple of times but I really wanted to get all the clues and find out for certain who it was.Β

  19. I don't know about anyone else but even with this being a nice early start for us, This show ended up being incredibly hard to get through and really fell way under the expectations going into it. Pretty much the only guys in that arena last night being put to work and really earning there pay check was the judges. 8 of 14 fights went to the judges yesterday and unfortunately 2 of those fights that didn't go to the judges were on the fight pass prelims.Β

With the majority of the show going that way I think the main event panning out the way it did and being pretty much 25 minutes of a grappling/ground fight with very little exciting stand up happening really did end the show on abit of a Low mood setting walking away from it. While I do think Chiesa looked really good with his ground game and being able to control the majority of the fight from the ground I think him calling out Colby will end up falling of deaf ears and as it's been mentioned above and on twitter he has very little chance of getting that fight at all anytime soon.Β

All in all this was a really dissapointing show for the most part and not done much in regards of getting everyone super excited for Saturday.Β

  20. So I woke up at 4am this morning and jumped straight on it. My personal Thoughts on it so far is It feels like the gameplay does flow even more smoothly than the second game and that's saying something as the second game was really impressive. I completed the first mission in just under a hour and although it was far from a bad mission Personally I think the second mission is miles more entertaining and fun without giving any spoilers for it, The route I have gone down with the second Mission while it in some ways is way more Ideal as the disguise I've gone with gives you access pretty much anywhere within the mansion without any problems I will say I think I have found a glitch/Problem in the murder mystery storyline on the second mission as you have to go round and investigate 5 different areas and I have successfully got every clue in 4 of the rooms but one of them it's saying there is 1 more to find and I have literally looked and searched every single part of the room from floor to ceiling but it is nowhere to be found.Β

It's been commented on several reviews/previews of the game that the addition of the camera tool/gadget feels slightly irritating and unnecessary and I have to agree IMO. I understand with it being the last game in the trilogy they wanted to add some new elements to the levels to make it feel fresher and more upgraded but I don't think it needed this sort of addition and personally it just feels abit irritating because you can find yourself stuck for what to do next not really thinking for a second to whip out your camera and scan something in order to open a window or scan for evidence. But like i said (Before any of you jump on me like you enjoy doing) This is just my personal opinion as a fan of the franchise and someone who has immensely enjoyed and completed the previous 2 games.

If it makes you feel any better @Kfogg1991even if you had time to play Hitman at launch you wouldn't have gotten far. There's a Progress Carry-Over system to bring your Hitman 2 unlocks and XP over but because of the global launch it's not working for anyone. Importing it overwrites your Hitman 3 save, so even if you played Hitman 3 without doing it, if you then did it later it would erase all your progress.

I'm not able to import my Progress from the previous Hitman games anyway because I played them on my Xbox. I'm playing this on my PS4.Β

I will say though I wanted to get used to the controls on my PS4 for the reason I just mentioned above and I've had 15 minutes on the training mission and I'm pretty sure it's the exact same Training mission as the first or second game was. I've defiantly seen it before because I knew exactly where to go
