He's getting rid of the belt entirely, the new championship is that mask.
Pretty sure Trips made him wear that as an apology for smashing up the throne.

I also chuckled when Charles Robinson lifted his arm up in the air as 'Taker chokeslammed The Rock. Reminded me of his reactions during the HBK/Flair retirement match.

One of the best and most satisfying main events of all time. The disappointment of last year was hard to get over but to be fair to them they told a better story in the end. This was everything. Well done.

Someone on Twitter said that they think Damien Priest will cash in on the The Rock and his "toy belt" and part of me really wants to see it.

i remember when I thought Michael Cole was the worst. Lovely wee tribute.

As mentioned a few posts above, not surprised in the slightest about this one. More surprised it's taken so long to be taken (more) seriously.

Excellent episode.
Mine happened in Morrisons years ago. I was sent to fetch a couple of bottles of Cola while my (ex) wife perused something else.
I duly went and retrieved said bottles and for some inexplicable reason I then held them up as pretend boobies and jumped around the corner of the aisle making machine gun noises a la femme bots from Austin Powers. (Expecting to surprise the missus).
Some old dear dropped her basket, screamed, almost fell over and half a dozen checkout lines fell into silence. Looking (glaring) at me.
And I had absolutely no comeback. I waved and walked over to the trolley, placed said bottles and joined the back of a disapproving queue.
One of those times.

Rock's going to tear a quad by the looks of it. Incredible. How not to get into the backseat.

Think I'll get tickets to the Dublin or London show as it'll be 20 odd years since I last saw them. Had this on the playlist today. Feeling it.

Fights in Hull.
The cheer made me laugh.

Can't do better than Gladiators but at my grandpa's funeral, my uncle got up to say a few words, tripped getting onto the raised platform where the lectern was and in a split second disappeared through a curtain to the left. Unseen by everyone but me and my gran. The gasps as we both erupted in laughter is a sound I'll take to my own grave and still makes me laugh now.
My uncle is a top seller too as he stayed down for the remainder of the service, only reappearing for the handshakes on the way out. Still hasn't said where he went or what he was doing.

Incredible stuff.

Also, I was thinking today about happy-go-lucky wrestlers where the fans have a "good mood" entrance.
Again, one from a few years ago but 'Dance Macabre' by Ghost would be an incredible entrance song for a face.

Love this topic. I said in an unrelated thread a few years ago that I'd always thought 'Crying Out' by Shinedown would make a great entrance theme.
First came across it when I found a training video of Jay Cutler's ahead of one of the mid-2000s Mr Olympias and this was the soundtrack. Always had it on my gym playlist after that.
The feedback at the start, the quiet guitar before it kicks in... tremendous.

Any extra stipulation like that devalues a babyface win. It signals to the crowd that the babyface needs extra help to win. What better way to FINISH THE STORY than for the pure white meat babyface to overcome all the odds and win the belt on the grandest stage of them all. There can be an absolute dog and pony show in the match, but the ending has to be Cody pinning Roman in the centre of the ring with no kickout.
Agreed. If anything if it's is Reigns/Cody 2 then I'd expect nothing less than the same if not more amount of shenanigans down the closing stretch so that when the Dusty boy does finish the story, he overcomes all the odds AND THEN SOME to do so. Anything less or any contrived stipulations will leave a question mark in the minds of many (??) fans. Or at least hardcore fans on internet forums.

and Rollins looking like a total knob in their respective skyboxes was hilarious.
Agreed. Cody referenced it in the press conference albeit with a very neutral answer. There is no question which title he is going for "all due respect to Seth Rollins..." line made me chuckle. All due respect but respectfully Seth and his title are numpties. Good times.

He has got a point though, fucking Jinder in 2023
Jinder in 2024 though is a completely different prospect. Dollar signs.

Michael Cole with the moves. Point well made though, no screaming the "CAN IT BE!?" of yesteryear. A treat I didn't know I'd witnessed until I saw this.

I think the ‘idiotic son in law’ has turned out to be the best thing to happen to the WWE ever
Not having Vince involved in creative has been a massive boon for sure. How much is down to Trips I suppose time will tell but it's as if he's "listened" over the years and what we're getting now is (almost) everything we've ever asked for.
Bells. Whistles. And some tinsel!
Very well done all round.
It's Wrestlemania Season

Would love a more traditional belt to be introduced. I don't even care if it's not the golden eagle at this stage but the WWE belts have been crap for 20 odd years now.
