So, I've finally reached the age where a doctor is going to have to look and probably feel up my anus.

I've noticed a small, but still quite sizable, lump on my anus the last few weeks. I was hoping it would just go away, but it hasn't so I've booked in to see the doctor next week and am convinced I have anus cancer.

Of all the cancers I could get, I think anus is the worst one just from a telling people perspective. In fact, if I do have anus cancer, I'm going to tell people I have a different, less gross form.

    I'm assuming you've given these a look

    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/anal-cancer/

    https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/anal-cancer/symptoms

I wouldn't worry too much as the Doctor is most likely checking to be on the safe side. Could just be something simple or if it's like a polyp, one which is non cancerous. Or, worse case scenario, one they have found fairly quickly & can treat.

  2. Cheers for that, will give it a look. The NBA finals are playoffs arent included from what I've read if they are nationally televised and it's just audio streams.

quick check of the NBA.com shows that only audio service is allowed on NBA League Pass for the playoffs. All playoff games are broadcast nationally on ABC, TNT, ESPN or NBA TV. ... That is most likely the case for the playoffs, hence only audio is available.

  3. Found this about ElevenSports

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/jul/28/eleven-sports-new-player-sport-broadcast-rights

Seems it is definitely streaming until they work with Virgin, Sky etc for a channel. They mentioned when first starting they had a pay per match option for Serie C football.

Their website has UFC logo already on it so I'm assuming they cover it for other countries.

    http://elevensports.com/

  4. If ElevenSports has a PPV channel I think the big cards will be on PPV. Especially those involving Conor. Didn't the head of UK UFC say they wanted to transition the U.K. market into pay per view?, so it might be on the horizon in the near future.

We don't know if UFC have packaged everything together (including Fight Pass exclusives & all the PPVs) and BT didn't want to pay over the odds for it. Or UFC just are offering TUF, UFC on Fox and Fight Night shows. That could be why BT pulled out of the bidding.

If Sky comes in for the UFC I think it'll be a wrap that all the PPVs (& probably UK based events) will go on Sky Box Office. Since it'll help offset their costs as you can imagine what McGregors first fight back would do PPV wise so they could make a mint of one fight alone.

  5. That's disappointing. I don't have League Pass so was watching games on BT. Eleven Sports are favorites to land the new NBA TV rights, unless Sky Sports get involved. I believe the NBA made $6 Billion last year so they are having a resurgence in popularity. Ideally when you have the UK games you want as many people as possible to see it. I can't see BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & 5 bidding for the rights but they need a presence on UK TV to keep growing the fanbase again. I think Channel 4 had a highlights show in the 90s so a similar one today would be good too. As for League Pass are any games region locked or is that just applicable for the US?

So Brickhouse Brown, over the weekend, has went from dead to alive. (Mistakes happen I guess, glad he's still with us, even if he's still very ill).

Reminds me of that HHH vs Austin match from No Mercy 2000 (I think it was), when HHH went from dead at the PPV to "slightly shaken" on the following RAW.

He's in the very end stages of cancer (prostate cancer which spread to the brain) and hadn't eaten. B Brian Blair said they called in the priest to give him his last rites but he woke up and said to his Mum that he was hungry and they fed him thru a tube (he has lost something like 200lbs). Sadly its unlikely Brickhouse will recover but he's battling on and still fighting.

  7. I think when 5spike signed the new deal the One Night Only and other PPVs weren't part of it. So its unlikely it'll be on TV unfortunately. On their UK Facebook page they posted this link to buy the PPV replay

    https://impac.tw/slamfite

I imagine it'll be up on their GWN eventually too. Fight Network had Slammiversary listed last night but it was the 2017 show.

It was discussed a while ago and while it’s always fun to see wrestling figures on tv shows, those faux reality hunter/storage type shows are pure shite and horribly scripted (a bit like some wrestling then)... however, my favourite ever figures on tv show was an old episode of bargain hunt/car booty whatever the fuck it was, in which Dickinson or whoever did a 3-4 min chat with a particular trader, the trader in question was about 16 and he basically travelled around the country buying wrestlers from boot sales and then sold them online for much more to collectors.

This must have been in 2000/2001 and was bloody eye opening at the time.

It’s pretty rare to find hasbros in the wild these days, and even when you do they are completely butchered... but occasionally you find a score.

This was at a games convention I was co-hosting last week. A box of figures, half being hasbros, 3 for a tenner.

    5A0EF969-50CE-4EFD-A821-1DB642C8F8AB.jpeg

Toy Hunter was more the guy and his mate searching out the really rare toys, think one time he found a prototype Transformers one and selling them on via his shop/at conventions.

The one with Hogan in was one of the Black Eyed Peas searching out rare figures and the guy bought a rare LJN from HH. There's one with Gene Simmons too when he gets him to find rare Kiss toys and merch.

As for Hasbros, yea you get people either put high price tags because "they're worth a lot of eBay/ they're collectibles etc" on them or customisers buy them so they can make other wrestlers from the parts. Plus if you do find them it's usually one of the Bushwhackers or Legion of Doom. Galoobs are a bit more common since I don't know if the collectors market is the same. Found El Gigante a few years back but he had a painted beard on him though!

  9. LA pick up his remaining $6m on his contract til the end of the season. So in post season if they make it to the World Series again that 6 million would be more than worth it.

The Phillies still are in pole position to land Manny in free agency as they have the money available. The proposed new deal he can sign is estimated to be in the hundreds of millions if this is to be believed

    https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2712613-mlb-metrics-101-top-candidates-for-mlbs-1st-400-million-contract.amp.html

They also mention Mookie, Bryce Harper and Mike Trout as players who could potential sign $400m contracts tok. Also Giancarlo Stanton already had a $325m, 13 year deal with the Marlins so I imagine the Yankees have picked up the remainder of it. If they do manage to land Manny Machado too in FA then they'd be pushing their payroll through the roof just with two players alone. But adding him when Mookie and JD are pushing the Red Sox ahead of them right now might be the game changer they need to push ahead.

Another interesting article about other potential trades etc

    http://www.espn.com/blog/buster-olney/post/_/id/18723/olney-how-deadline-dominoes-will-fall-following-machado-deal

  10. Manny Machado is now a LA Dodger. LA traded 5 of their minor league prospects to the Orioles for him.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/Orioles/status/1019750485170032641/photo/1

    https://www.mlb.com/news/orioles-get-5-prospects-for-manny-machado/c-286394044

Yusniel Diaz is predicted the most likely to make it to the Majors & be a success. The Os are also looking to trade 3 more players including Jones & Britton to speed up the rebuilding process. Im assuming their poor season is what forced their hand. Had they be competing with the Red Sox & NYY I believe they'd have wanted to keep Manny and offer him a new deal. Surprising they let their best player walk away essentially. Ideally you build around him but maybe Manny Machado had plans to leave the Orioles anyway and they at least got some prospects in for him. Diaz might turn into a promising player but filling Manny's shoes will be a tough act to follow.

  11. Kawhi got traded to the Raptors

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24128608/zach-lowe-kawhi-leonard-trade-spurs-raptors-nba

    https://mobile.twitter.com/wojespn/status/1019567705521655809

He of course wanted to go to the Lakers but unless the trade is vetoed over a failed medical (Toronto apparently may even waive that formality which is risky as he only played 9 games last season) its likely he will have suit up for the Raptors. There is a rumour going around that he has no interest in playing there but if he plays hardball there I imagine he'll be fined etc and be in breach of his contract. I believe if Kawhi plays for a year and doesn't sign a new deal its a one and done & he can enter free agency. So maybe if he looks at things in that perspective its not so bad.

  12. There was a rumour started up by a crime reporter about federal & state investigation into Hanley over drug trafficking charges. However he was completely innocent and a friend just brought his name up.

    https://www.si.com/mlb/2018/06/22/hanley-ramirez-eyed-federal-state-invesitgation-red-sox

    https://nypost.com/2018/06/25/hanley-ramirez-was-the-victim-of-desperate-friend/

Could the Red Sox have known that before DTAing him. I doubt it, as Alex Cora said he knew nothing about it. So it was more so to do with moving salary around. Baltimore were interested in Hanley but their fans were complaining but they need him when Manny leaves.

The Phillies, Brewers and Dodgers are in for Manny Machado. The Yankees were but didn't want to give up a promising pitcher. Philly seemed to be leading the way in the race but the Dodgers are back in and if they pick him up with Muncy & Kemp being surprise successes then I think LA have a great chance of making the World Series again this year  .

    http://amp.si.com/mlb/2018/07/17/mlb-trade-rumors-latest-news-manny-machado

Another hit to the Os is Adam Jones will be a free agent soon too. There's talk of an Indians trade

    http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/news/mlb-trade-rumors-2018-baltimore-orioles-cleveland-indians-discussed-deals-for-multiple-players-adam-jones/1pzx5mz2l1kne19tdnn5cytvat

So I wouldn't rule out them trading him now so they can go into rebuild mode. Plus Zach Britton of the Os has trade interest in him too. The Baltimore Orioles are 39.5 games back to the Red Sox so the seasons already over for them really halfway through. So if they manage to get good players in for Manny and if Jones & Britton go they might finish the end of the season a bit better. But now it's a washout and when they were OK to fairly good last season it makes you wonder why they are doing so badly. Their only real notable wins are a series win against the Yankees

  13. MLB All Star game tonight (will be repeated the day after and a few more times).

Home Run derby is repeated today on ESPN, no Judge or Stanton in it. Don't think Ohtani is in either, pinch hitting for the Angels last week and hit a great homer against the Dodgers.

Apart from that the As are doing well, The Red Sox are just pulling ahead of the Yankees and the Braves have been a surprise package this season too.

  14. A bit off topic but there's a free guide for all Dreamcast games here

    http://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2018/07/the-dreamcast-junkyard-presents-a-to-z.html

Also includes prototypes and a price guide for collectors.

  15. I was seeing a NHS dietitian, however i was discharged. This is because i was too afraid/anxious to try to re introduce food, because of the crippling pain and the fact i would then have to spend 3 - 4 days constantly on the throne until i would be well again, and i cant spend all day on the toilet and work... I have to follow a "low fodmap" diet, which has worked somewhat, but i find it depressing and limiting for the most part. Its hard to explain, if interested, give it a google :)

I have a fear of eating now and everything i eat i read into its carbs, sugars, salt etc to make sure im not poorly or to reduce the risk, i actually shake sometimes when eating meals now, which is no something that used to happen. Im under CBT at the moment, so hopefully this will help.

I would definitely try and get a GP to further look into your digestive issues. Because you shouldn't have to go through that at all. Have you had allergy testing? As from what your saying it seems you are allergic to certain food groups. Are there any food(s) which are OK, if so, then whilst they are bland you won't lose any weight if you try to eat those. From what I recall Fortisip are lactose, gluten free so I would definitely suggest that to your doctor. If they aren't understanding of your problems I'd seek a second opinion too.

Have you had any endoscopy, colonoscopy, barium meal/barium swallow, CT scan of your pancreas etc?. Ideally you need a referral to a gastroenterologist or a re-referral who should hopefully pinpoint what's wrong. CBT will hopefully break the cycle of being anxious about eating too. I would make a list of foods you can eat and add little extras to them each time to boost up the calorie content. Also make a list of foods which trigger your symptoms. Then you'll notice a pattern and you can mention them to the doctor. Have you tried mint tea at all? Mint is a natural anti-inflammatory so it might help aid digestion.

Also the shaking could be down to blood sugar level as well as being anxiety related. I would avoid energy drinks (Lucozade, Red Bull etc) as they artificially spike your blood sugar. Have you had any diabetes blood test? I would get your GP to run a full set of blood tests, maybe go to see the doc with a parent/relative/friend and have them explain your concerned about your symptoms and want to get to the bottom of them. It might take time but you shouldn't have to go through this on a daily basis, until then stick to what you can manage. I would eat smaller meal portions at a time too so they are more manageable and less stress on your digestive system. Again hope you get this sorted out & all the best.

Just want to say thank so much for the feedback. To know that you’ve actually taken time out of your day to give it a shot, that means a lot to me. With regards to some of the points you raised-

    * I mentioned it a few weeks back, but I have spoken to Tom Fontana via email and he has agreed to do an interview if his schedule will allow it. He is currently developing two new projects for TV, so at the moment his time is short, but he seems to be up for getting involved whenever he can. I am going to try and get interviews with other cast & crew were possible, assuming that the show gains any sort of traction.

    * Thank you for that Chuck Zito interview link, and I will keep it for when he turns up in the show. The plan is to introduce the actors a bit more when they get their ‘intros’ from Augustus Hill, so I will talk about the actor pre-Oz and when their character dies or whenever they leave the show, I will then do a post-Oz segment on them.

    * The next few episodes do use more clips to break up the recording. As soon as I sat down to record that first episode I was absolutely paralysed with fear. “What if no-one likes it, what if it sounds like shite, what do I do if I just go off wittering about nothing”. Ep#1 took me nearly 5 hours to record because I was stopping & starting so often due to nerves.

    * Eps 1 & 2 I was just working from notes on the show. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to say, but I hadn’t decided exactly until I hit record. However, Ep3 onwards I am working from an actual script for the episode, and my recording time been drastically decreased as a result. I’m also starting to find my ‘host voice’ a little bit more now. Now that the show is out there and people are starting to listen to it, I’m relaxing a bit more and starting to enjoy the process alot more.

    * Thank you for the recommendation of ffmpeg. At the moment it has been very much a ghetto style production, but considering that I don’t think that it sounded too bad. I’m still learning the in & outs of putting a show together, but there’s a small segment in Ep2 (which will be released Friday 20th July) which I’m really proud of and hopefully comes across well when/if you listen to it. Listening back to the edits of the first two episodes, I was worried that using the show’s theme as the intro took too long. Even though I do start to talk before it finishes, it’s still the better part of a minute until I come in. Ep3 has an altered theme which I’ve trimmed down slightly but also added quotes from the show over the top too.

    * At the moment I focusing on getting the next episodes out and building some sort of listener-base. I’m posting more & more on Twitter & Instagram with where it can be listened to, and I even got a retweet from BD Wong which absolutely blew my mind that he had seen something I’d written and then decided it was worth sharing with his fans.

Thank you once again for the feedback, and thank you for trying the show and I hope you’ll continue to do so if you’re able

You're welcome mate. An interview with Tom Fontana will be real interesting if he agrees to it scheduling permitting. I'd be intrigued to know *spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the show yet*,

edit: I've also added something about submitting podcasts to iTunes etc but it's stuck in the spoiler box for some reason

Was he planning on a seventh season as the way the show ended with the inmates moving to another prison kinda left it without a real conclusion

Also why did he think to bring back Beecher in as an inmate, whereas he could have transitioned into the lawyer role to help out the other inmates. Same as with Kareem, when he was pardoned do you think they could have still had him as part of the cast but as a mentoring type role.

Did any former/current prisoners get in contact about the show and did any offer any input when he was developing the show etc.

For the celebrity guest stars, was there any he wanted on the show and any he said no to.

What episode(s) are his favourites and are they any which he thought went too far.

The execution of Ryan's brother Cyril is I think one of the more difficult scenes of the entire run to watch because despite his crime he's a character you could have a certain degree of empathy for. There seems some sort of undertone they were going to pardon him at one point (I think Ryan talks to one of the characters about it) so was that the case originally or I might be assuming wrongly.

Did he have any plans to revisit Oz at any point to conclude the story, or if he made it in 2018 are there anything(s) he would do differently?

I thought the show was perfectly cast but did they have any original actors/actresses planned for certain roles who he thought were better suited to others. For example there's a DVD extra where you have characters reading for the Augustus narrator role

Yep I'd imagine it was nerve wracking to begin with but you've brought the project to fruition and really that's the toughest part. As time progresses I think things will be easier and you'll be more confident. If you wanted to shorten the introduction theme you could edit it so it plays the ending part of the intro & have Augustus do his welcome to Oz bit at the end, so you cut it down to like 15-20 seconds. The recording setup is fine it doesn't need to be super professional. Are you using a pop shield?, if not it's easy to make one.

For iTunes some guidelines which might help

    https://create.blubrry.com/manual/podcast-promotion/submit-podcast-to-itunes/

Cool you got a retweet from BD Wong. I think when your listener base grows it will open more doors for interviewers, more promotion etc. I would search out like TV forums, cult TV, digitalspy etc and put a link to your podcast on there. Also post it up on YouTube so anyone watching Oz clips might get linked to it. Fair use should cover any audio clips you post.

Also thanks to you for doing this podcast, Oz is a show which had me hooked and theres not much information out there about it, which is surprising since it was HBOs first real big show before The Wire, The Sopranos etc so you'd think there would be something out there, so your podcast is unique in that regard.

I'll definitely keep tuning in to listen and I'm sure others are & more will too.
