Them appearing at the UFC last night and making it clear who’s next in the chain of command was more interesting than anything that happened on their premium live event.

Looking forward to when Pat runs the show.

Nick Khan was next to McAfee too, he'll be the one to really run the show eventually.

  2. On a recent rewatch of it there's small lines that had me in bits too. When Giant Reed and Hud Hastings are talking about the beast in front of Chris the Sheep, when Hud goes "I hear it's as big as a jaguar!" - the way way Giant says "the car?!" in a thick Cork accent absolutely kills me.

  3. I love Father Ted and was at that OTT show. The first few wrestlers came out to Ghost Town by the Specials as the Spinmaster was in charge of the tunes, piano shirt and all. It was amazing.

  4. I do worry for the likes of Sammy and Darby who seem intent on killing themselves every match and without the muscle mass to absorb some of the punishment. Sammy's swanton on the ring apron in there recent match was so so stupid and unnecessary. PCO is doing these spots all the time too at his age and it can't be good but at least he's built a little bigger which might help.

  5. I was at the Defy Fifth year anniversary show last night here in Seattle. Darby Allin came out and offered Nick Wayne (a 16 year-old prodigy and son of Buddy Wayne) an AEW contract. The kid is amazing and has been killing it there since shows came back. There was barely a dry eye in the place so a super cool moment.

THEN Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" hits and out comes Shane "Swerve" Strickland. I have not kept up with him in recent years but my God, he comes across like the coolest fucker going. He challenged Nick Wayne to a match here in two weeks and said to Darby "I'll see you soon" and walked off. It was an epic close out to a great show. I really hope Tony gets Swerve and the song rights and all that goes with it - the charisma is off the charts.

Already seen that exact reaction, made worse because Cody was the one to post about the album.

Cody handed over his twitter to the community outreach team months ago so it's them running his account now.

  7. Gargano will be Cleveland in two weeks if anywhere I think. I'll be at that show too! In fact I'm kicking off an insane few weeks of live shows all over the US so will hopefully catch some big moments along the way.

    Jan 15th - NJPW Strong - Seattle

Jan 22nd - GCW HOF Ceremony - NY

    Jan 23rd - GCW Hammerstein - NY

    Jan 26th - AEW Dynamite/Rampage - Cleveland

    Jan 29th/30th - PWG BOLA Night 1 & 2 - LA

Feb 12th - DEFY Fifth year anniversary - Seattle

    Feb 20th - Prestige - Portland

Who's the guy with Edge? He looks familiar.

Joe E Legend, wrestled in WWE for a little as Just Joe, did a lot of Euro tours too with various companies. Heard he was ousted for spreading gossip and giving stuff to dirtsheets but it's been a while so I'm perhaps fuzzy on the details.

  9. Love Danhausen and have barely seen a single match of his, seems to be par for the course for most.

I think he will be big but not in the wrestling world. He could easily be a host of those horror movie marathons that are big here in the States, think of him as a male Elvira effectively. His character work is great to the point even Conan O' Brien had him on his podcast and he's getting some cool unique merch opportunities too, he's got a guitar pedal coning out on Halloween which I'm dying to get!

Missing the point is actually you not knowing the difference between shows and the concept of time. They have 2 Network shows and 2 You Tube shows ever week. Before it was just Dynamite and Dark.

See my first post where it says "good showing on TV". There are two TV shows, which is what I was referring to. Brush up on your comprehension skills kiddo.

You mean like how Ricky Starks got a TNT match with Cody and ended up getting signed?

Vastly different eras of AEW you could argue, would be good to compare the roster size now to that time period. Bobby Fish hasn't set the world alight anywhere he's been and being in a faction with three far more talented people doesn't count. Ricky has future star written all over him so very different scenarios. When you have three hours of TV a week and can often go weeks without seeing PAC, Fenix, Andrade, Ricky and many others, and the spot is taken up by 44 year old Bobby Fish, then it's a little criminal.

  12. So I was in NY last week for Arthur Ashe and went to the two GCW shows the following nights. First night after GCW I met and chatted with Marko Stunt for over an hour and that was focused on mostly music stuff. The second night however, Santana and Homicide enter the bar I'm in with some people, one of whom is their agent/manager guy. We're drinking until like 4am and chatting away - mostly normal stuff as I don't wish to bother them with wrestling stuff but the manager mentioned a few times that there is now growing concern among some AEW originals that the roster is getting too bloated and some are getting upset. That's all that was said, and I didn't probe on it.

You'd have to be a little pissed alright if you see them bringing in Bobby Fish next week for a TNT title shot, over the plethora of guys they already have at their disposal and who could do with a good showing on TV.
