Is anyone watching American Gods and still enjoying it? I think it must be on it's 3rd or 4th season now and it has dawned on me today that I am basically hate watching it now.
On paper I love the concept, I want to enjoy it and teaming up Al Swearengen with Ryan Naysmith is something of a Dream Team for me. It looks quite pretty and might have one of the best title sequences out there but it just doesn't go anywhere. I've never read any Neil Gaiman and at 48 I think that ship has sailed but I wonder how this stacks up against the books or comics? Are we anywhere near the end of it? When will they stop driving around America and have this war the keep promising me?

That account is quite funny. This one tickled me.

Phil Collins inventing Nine Inch Nails.

Discovered via a Guardian interview with Adam Curtis. How very middle class.

Fucking Black Beast!!! That was beautiful, he should be the man to welcome Jon Jones to the Heavyweight division.

Yeah, it doesn't help that Oliveira isn't much of a shit talker and looks like Richard Henricks from Silicon Valley.

I think if there was any sporting basis for these decisions then Oliveira would fight for the lightweight title next against AN Other. Were he to win that match he would be the only lightweight currently I reckon who could claim to have done something special enough to entice Khabib down from the mountains of Dagestan and into the octagon. Assuming Khabib is after a sporting challenge and not a massive payday of course.

Good post David. It struck me on second viewing of the fight yesterday how different he looked from the featherweight version in terms of his stance, movement and footwork as well as the stuff you mention. I think a lot of that has to do with his obsession with becoming a celebrity boxer as well as the weight. He looked a bit like one of those "stuck in the mud, stiff as a board lightweights" he mocked at that Vegas press conference a few years back. I think the Conor of those days slips in and out of range of the low kick with ease, rather than foolishly trying to check them. He seems to have abandoned the hand fighting too, which was a big part of his success early I think. It will be interesting to see if he makes the adjustments or just goes onto boxing YouTubers. I can't see him ever going back to Featherweight now, it would kill him and he already looks about 40 in his face.

I much prefer that Conor than the bellend prancing around in a mink coat being racist to his opponents or pretending to be a gangster.
I'm looking forward to this event and with the crowds slowly coming back I'm starting to be feel more enthused about UFC in 2021.

It was very much a ground battle for the most part, with Chiesa dominating for the most part but Magny hanging in there and defending well. Some mad crazy scrambles. The sort of fight I would have shat on 5 years ago but I guess I have a new found appreciation of the grappling aspect of MMA, and if that is your bag you should enjoy.

Mason Jones may have lost but he picked up 50gs in the process.
I really enjoyed the main event and was pleased that Chiesa win. Good call out at the end too. I'd be up for Chiesa v Colby.

How does it compare to the Horse in Bedworth?
Well it didn't come across as much of a wretched den of scum and villainy so I knocked a half star off my Google maps review.

It's a deal. Last visit we ended up in the Barrels which was a fine establishment if I remember correctly.
UFC Vegas: Edwards vs Muhammad - Mar 13 🇺🇸

Wand, I admire your optimism writing up a Leon Edwards card with such enthusiasm a full week before it happens. You have kept MMA alive in lockdown. I think the guys on the board would have let it slide if you'd let this one slip by!
I really want Leon Edwards to do well but this has got career crushing defeat written all over it. Erick Anders vs Darren Stewart excites me too.
