Harry and Mollie are blatantly shagging too.

My wife is actually fairly convinced that they've been a couple all along. The way he was looking at her in pure adulation at the dinner party certainly had me considering that could be the case.

  2. The Sandman crucifixion angle might get a little coverage as well. Other than that perhaps a crazy drunk who often wrestled high on drugs mostly in a company filled with heavy drug users now being in relatively good condition leading a reltively normal life is the story?

However...wasn't he also a meth head on the brink at one stage? Some turnaround.

  3. It might sound really stupid but I've always felt like Ronnie the majority of the time beats himself in matches.

I've felt that for large portions of his career he seemed so distracted or un-focused that it hampered him hugely.

If he had the mentality of 80's Steve Davis or 90's Stephen Hendry and could have maintained that throughout his career, I genuinely believe he would potentially have won practically every tournament he ever entered. I honestly believe he has that much talent.

  4. I used to design and sell pin badges for a short while and I ordered some stickers and acrylic pin badges from a company called Sticker Mule.

One time randomly along with my order of pin badges I received a bottle of their own hot sauce - Mule Sauce - which they began sending out with any orders over a certain amount maybe ÂŁ100 or so.

It seemed like the most random thing going.

    Sauce wasn't great.

Did this lead to some guy getting his head kicked in during a match because they blamed him for it, and he took the beating because he wanted to pay his dues or some bollocks?

    Mike Levy.

Not directly but it was all in the same close time frame. From memory Mike Levy had contacted Ian Rotten asking to be in KOTDM and saying he was an "internet sensation". I believe he was essentially just a backyarder and there's been a lot of talk since that Levy has or may have mild learning difficulties.

Rotten booked him to face Mickie Knuckles (who was living with Rotten, his wife and kid at the time and Rotten was shagging behind his wife's back).

MK beat the living shit out of Levy to the point that Levy began stiffing her back and she ended up with a big welt on her forehead - the day or week before she was due to be on PPV for TNA I believe.

End of the match Rotten sends out Devon Moore and Tank who both beat the shit out of him including top rope curb stomps face first into a ladder.

Pondo, Rotten, and Rotten's kid who was probably about 13 at the time came out and put the boots into him some more.

The video of the entire thing is on YouTube and the video of MK's leg break not long after it with Rotten whimpering as he realises that TNA money is about to disappear are both quite the watch.

  6. On the subject of Ian Rotten he assaulted two 10 or 11 year old girls at a show on one occasion, I remember a lot of talk previously about numerous allegations of abuse including sexual abuse towards Mickie Knuckles.

There were also allegations that he pressured her into doing an IWA:MS show days after she signed a contract with TNA when she wasn't supposed to. She broke her leg in the match  had her contract ripped up.

An utter piece of shit all round by all accounts but plenty to be explored in a multi episode DSOTR.

  7. Again, not a lovely old building cinema I'm afraid but some lovely old memories.

We were pretty poor when I was a kid and my Mum was always juggling 3 or 4 jobs at a time around raising 3 kids to get by.

One of her jobs was a "secret shopper" for Showcase Cinema.

The one in Coventry was a bit of a pain in the arse to get to. Nowhere near the area we lived and in a retail park on the outskirts of the city.

It had a Toys R Us at the same complex and we'd always get a look around in there during our occasional trips over (always just a look sadly).

I think it being well out of the way so we never drove past it or saw it unless we were going there to see a film really added to the feeling that going was a big deal or a special occasion.

I remember the cinema having big glass windows all around the entrance that would often be window painted with big designs for current blockbuster releases.

My Mum would need to count how many people were in the screenings, get a popcorn and drink, check the toilets etc. then do a report of how long it took to get tickets, get confectionary and the quality of it etc.

There was also a Haagen-Dazs ice cream section with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, nuts etc. which I never got but to me as a kid seemed like the absolute height of luxury.

We never went to the cinema outwith those occasions and it seemed quite sporadic as from memory the films we saw there seemed to span randomly over a 3 year or so period.

We had a lot of VHS tapes bought from car boot sales and the ex rental bargain bins at the local Blockbuster Video but the cinema was always such a massive treat.

I remember seeing Home Alone 2, Jurassic Park, Aladdin, Batman Forever and The Lion King there for sure.

A few years ago I was back home visiting and talking about how much I love taking my kids to the cinema and how much I loved going to The Showcase back in the day. My Mum told me she only ever took the job because she worked out it paid just enough to cover the cost of tickets for myself, my brother and sister as they obviously only covered the costs for her one ticket and a drink/popcorn to review.

It was a way for her to let us have a treat that she couldn't afford otherwise without having to be away from us.

    God bless her.

I don’t think being open about your mental health gives you a pass on being an arsehole though.  Given what Ronnie said about him in that interview, this seems a relatively mild comeback.

I don't think it gives you a pass to be an arsehole either but Carter was trying to come across as "it doesn't effect me and I'm taking the higher ground" whilst throwing out barbs about ROS being mentally unwell.

ROS literally said part of his issue was that they used to practice together and he had shared a lot of stuff with him - which I took to mean about his mental struggles and that he felt betrayed by someone he once thought was his mate talking shit about him - then Carter's out saying he feel's sorry for him as he's clearly mentally ill.

Ali Carter is a tosser. But this was O'Sullivan's response to Carter's criticisms of the Masters final crowd (and a pretty light barb at O'Sullivan within it).

World Grand Prix this week as well, lads. ITV 4, half the crowd falling asleep and no noise outside a century break. Proper snooker.

Ali Carter was just asked about Ronnie's comments in his interview before his match at the WGP here to which he replied "I actually feel a bit sorry for him, I don't think he's that well, mentally".

Thing is for me whilst that may well be the case, Carter firing out snide comments like that towards someone who has openly had struggles with their mental health is just wanker behaviour and if anything in my opinion only helps to support Ronnie's comments that he's a tosser.

I can’t imagine snooker without Ronnie O’Sullivan, he truly is a one off. Any other competitor with his attitude, outbursts and what could often be seen as a lack of respect would be universally disliked. But it seems everyone likes him, and kind of feels a bit sorry for him as he clearly has his struggles in life.

It's a weird one for me. Would I go as far as to say i liked him? No, probably not. He's almost certainly a twat of a guy but as you've said he clearly has stuff going on that contributes to that.

For me I guess the most part for enjoying watching him play and wanting him to win the majority of the time is trying to seperate the snooker player from the person.

As much as he is in my opinion a bit ot a twat, he's undoubtedly the best player to ever pick up a snooker cue and has been ridiculously entertaining to watch for 30 years.

To my knowledge he's not an alleged wife beater like Jimmy White or Alex Higgins. There's a thin line between knowing youre the best who's ever done it like he is and being up your own arse like Shaun Murphy is.

I think overall him being a moany bastard and knowing he's so important to the game that he can do and say more than anyone else whilst on occasion actually making some valid points isn't hard for me to look past.

There's also been plenty of times as well where I think he's came across rather well. He seems to adore his kids and last season at the worlds after all of the big talk from Vafaei in the build up to their match, Ronnie could have absolutely buried him off the table after doing so on it but he chose not to.

I'd love him to win the World's now and do the triple crown in one season. It sort of feels like one of if not the only thing left for him. Break the record world title's and do that all in one.

Only other person that I really want to see win it this year otherwise is Kyren Wilson.

  11. BRING IT HOME RONNIE!

Was another shout I believe near the start of the final frame. Snooker just isn't, hasn't ever been and shouldn't ever be a shouting out sport. It's a polite applause sport with the occasional cheer at huge moments not just randomly throughout.

Another thing for me is the crowd cheering or applauding absolutely random or very basic shots quite regularly. I feel like crowds used to be much more knowledgeable. Now it's like it's populated with pissed up arseholes who just saw people clapping at the snooker on TV and just copy it without understanding why.

  12. I don't remember the name of it but towards the end of last year I caught some orf what I assume is a new snooker tournament on Sky which had more of a darts crowd.

It was absolutely shite. The mid interval package of past UK Championship moments just made me realise how much I miss old snooker and the characters we used to have in the game.

What would this be about? There's not really any controversies around CZW.

John Zandig, a previously untrained explosives expert opens up a wrestling school making money training others when he arguably was never any more capable or qualified than they were at the time. The "school" ended up becoming CZW where he booked himself and other trainees at the top in the early years. The whole ultraviolence theme in itself with the use of meat hooksz weed whackers, nearly killing/paralysing himself and multiple others.

The biggest "stars" from the early years are mainly dead or heavily afflicted by injuries incurred.

I also can't believe Zandig is only 52 meaning in his "pomp" he'd have only been in his early to mid 30s.

  14. Sonny Onoo et al vs AOL Time Warner lawsuit.

    Alberto el Patron/Del Rio.

    The World Bodybuilding Federation.

    Muhammad Hassan.

    The Hardy Brothers.

    Speaking Out.

    The Hart Family/Stampede Wrestling

    Chyna.

    CZW.

I think all of them would make good episodes, a 2 parter for Hart/Stampede.

  15. Sabu, Mikey Whipwreck and Sandman's stints in WCW spring to mind.

As does Taz who was THE man in ECW when he left, had a fantastic debut at the Rumble then was wrestling for the hardcore title in a boiler suit within a year.

A lot of ECW guys went to WWF/WCW money wise it was well worth it but other than The Dudley's and Lance Storm I really cant think of many if any that were taken seriously and elevated from the positions they had in ECW.

The words “morals” and “benefit” seldom align in many lines of work, and pro wrestling is one of the worst in that respect. Bret came back, Warrior came back, even Bruno came back. At this point, leave your disbelief at the door.

Some of the major differences for me though are that Bret and Bruno had significant legitimate reasons to be fucked off majorly, Warrior much less so.

When you look back on the push and treatment Punk got in WWE his first time it waa huge and he was the first "indy" guy ever to be promoted and pushed to the moon like that but he acted like he was some hard done by spoiled little kid.

The "so suck a blood money covered Saudi dick" or similar and calling out their work with the Susan G Komen foundation are two of the examples I'd use of him being entirely different from anyone who's left the company and had an issue with them previously.

That sort of stuff is the taking the moral high ground, pointing down at them and saying he's above that and *that's* what his main issue is  which it isn't and never was.

Bret, Warrior, Sammartino's entire gimmick's and lives weren't the same as his "punk" persona either. It doesn't matter that he's in the right about Saudi and SGK, I'm not surprised he went back either. It's exactly what I expect from him.

It's his own behaviour, words, beliefs and morals that he's preached to others that in my opinion make him look an absolute wally now in there kissing Michael's bum cheeks on TV.

He's only the workings of time away from being inducted into the Vince McMahon kiss my ass club live on RAW for his job back.

  17. It's funny how Punk's behaviour whilst trying to and subsequently returning to WWE is seen by a lot of people as him "maturing" or "building bridges".

For me it's just going back on thoughts, opinions and morals which he so publicly and loudly proclaimed for the sake of his own benefit.

I dont have a problem with it to be honest but I see wrestling as lot like politics. It's full of "holier than thou" people pointing at the wrongdoings of others and soaking up adulation for calling it out. Before they then do the exact same stuff.

I met Punk before and asked him to sign a wrestling magazine which had Shawn Michaels on the front. It must still be in my Mum's house somewhere.

He signed across his face, drew something or other on it too, then called him a "phony Christian" and "one of the biggest pieces of shit in the entire wrestling business".

I'm not saying hes wrong, he almost certainly isn't. It's just amusing for me to watch a man so full of opinion and principal bow down and kiss the arse of a company and people he's been so critical of for some money he probably doesn't need and chasing a dream Wrestlemania main event he watched comparable peers have instead of him for a decade because he fucked off in a tantrum.

  18. It's the first time I've been really disappointed about Riddle having been released. The inevitable Punk tantrums and meltdown would surely have at some point led to him acting the big man to Riddle or infront of Riddle.

I picture Riddle tieing him up in a knot before taking Punk's own hand and repeatedly slamming it into his own face as he said "stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself" and "you're not fucking with Jack Perry now" as the entire locker room watched on and Punk sobbed meekly.

  19. I don't really keep up to date with Impact other than through this thread but the news of the return to the TNA name on twitter had me watching the promo for it.

Really hope they bring the 6 sided ring back, I think it's something that really set them apart and would be a nice difference to WWE/AEW now too.

Something that did really stick out to me also was Jordynne Grace's physique and also her voice. I don't remember her speaking like that previously. Am I mis-remembering?

An incredible physique however between that and her voice it was hard not to believe she must be quite a heavy user of steroids.

  20. From day one I felt that Jade not only had an amazing look, being in incredible shape and absolutely gorgeous but she just came across as a megastar from early on.

In the ring I feel like she improved at a rapid rate and was also excellent at highlighting her strengths and protecting her weaknesses.

I feel like AEW dropped the ball massively by not tieing her down to a bigger and longer contract as soon as they could and trying to build their entire womens division around her, being a "home grown" talent.

I think if handled properly she can be an absolute megastar in WWE and I think it's a brilliant move for her.

I really enjoy AEW and I don't know how much is dirt sheet nonsense but the rumours of MJF leaving still seem popular with rumours that his deal ends in January as well they must be shitting himself that he fucks off for a surprise Rumble entry.

I feel like there's a bit of a weird situation unfolding where the early narrative was that "wasted talent" in WWE could jump to AEW and be "used properly" but I'm struggling a little to think of anyone who has done that and really been elevated significantly.

On the opposite I used to feel like the top or promising AEW guys would get lost in the shuffle if they jumped to WWE whereas now for me of Wardlow, Hobbs, MJF, Starks etc. going to WWE would be really intriguing.

  21. The Tony Khan announcement on Collision seemed so weird and out of place. Would a promoter/owner really come and say such things openly on TV about being "scared for their life" over a private matter such as a firing someone. Surely that leaves them wide open to beind sued?

All of CM Punk's merchandise still seems to be available directly from AEW where he was by all accounts their top seller. He hasn't made any comment whatsoever so far to my knowledge.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that this is a really shitty work?

  22. Ultimately the decision that had to be made by Tony Khan is whether him being there is worth how much of a massive pain in the arse soppy bollocks diva he is.

Has his presence in AEW really moved the needle dramatically in regards to viewership and was viewership drastically down in the 9 months he was gone?

From recent memory he heads Collision which has had very low ratings, they had a Chicago area house show tour based around him which half the dates were half empty were they not?

People can talk about him being the top merchandise seller but by how much? If he's selling 10 times what anyone else is then maybe its a loss but if not then is it a huge loss? Also how many of those people just buy someone else's shirt now rather than none at all?

He isn't anywhere near the levels of popularity or attraction that he thinks he is anymore nor anywhere near enough to make it worth everyone in the company walking on egg shells before he has his next huff and decixes to do whatever the fuck he wants.

He looks like shit, isn't even half the in ring performer he once was and has wasted what could have been the peak years of his career sat at home in a strop because despite his talent, by all accounts he's the most insecure, pathetic little weirdo in the history of the wrestling business.

I think a massive part as well will be embarressment on his part that he probably genuinely thought his presence was going to turn the industry on its head and propel AEW to new heights off the back of his involvement then really hit him where it hurts however in reality next to nobody cares and he's looking over ar WWE then watching Stardust and Eli Drake get bigger reactions and sell more merchandise than he does.

It will be fucking hilarious if after all this he did go crawling back to WWE with his hand out even if its just for a HOF pay out in the future.

  23. Something I've started to consider is whether after the initial incident at All Out last year which sounded like Punk was well out of order if not in my opinion more at fault that the other side. Did he have his legal team look into the possibilities of having his contract paid up so he could take his ball and go home with his full money?

Since he's been back The Elite side of things (publicly wise anyway) seem to have kept their mouth shut and moved on.

Punk's had Ziggler Jr fucked off out the building, had another little nip at Hangman seemingly out of nowhere, had an issue with Jack Perry who I'd personally never heard negative things about until this Punk stuff started and allegedly been dictating who can and can't be on Collision.

Now at the biggest show in the company's history he's allegedly kicked off at Tony Khan pushing or causing a load of monitor's to fall on top of him during which he's allegedly threatened to quit, had another altercation with Jack Perry, threatened to not go out for his match with Samoa Joe, squared up to Miro for asking him what happened.

Could he be pushing things not far enough that he could be binned for "gross misconduct" but causing enough of a stink that Tony thinks "fuck this" and pays him up to fuck off?

If this is accurate from Alvarez then once again for me Punk is the problem and showing himself to again be the most insecure man on the planet.

"Jack goes through the curtain...He goes through the glass and they're working on his cuts. This was shortly before the show was supposed to go on the air. CM Punk walks by and he says 'do you have a problem with me?' Jack Perry says something to the effect of 'well, you heard what I said out there"

"CM Punk, according to several people said something to the effect of, 'you know I can beat your ass, right?' Then there was an incident. It was very quick...Pretty much 100 percent (of the witnesses said) Punk made the comment and either shoved of pie-faced Jungle Boy, grabbed him in the guillotine front headlock and it was immediately broken up."

When he did the Hogan spot I genuinely thought he had held up Khan WM9 style and he was going to come after the main and pin the winner inside 30 seconds brrrrooottthhheerrr.

  24. Absolutely fantastic.

A show that I felt showcased AEW and AEW talent brilliantly.

Pretty much everyone on the show felt like a megastar.

I usually feel like 4 hour shows drag on but for me that flowed perfectly and I really didn't feel it was a struggle to watch at any point.

I'm not a huge fan of either in the main event but the entire thing and the two of them was sensational.

Big shoes to fill next year.
