I sometimes wonder who the people are who sit in the front seats at wrestlemania. They must be over a grand those seats

And the rest! I’m sure they go for five figures.

  2. Sammy and Andrade also had a fairly well publicised scrap.

The other one that springs to mind is Excalibur knocking out the gothy noncey English dude whose name is escaping me quite early on in AEW’s existence.

    Edit: Jimmy Havoc.

  3. But then why is Cody so happy to hand over his belt to the bloke who’s recently been making his life a living hell, and why did he want to hold Rock’s fake one? It reminded me of the kid in school who’d always want to ride your new bike instead of his shit one but you were always too nervous to say no.

  4. That opening segment was an embarrassing load of awkward shit. As if the video tribute to Cody like he’s just died wasn’t bad enough, it followed with him and Rock weirdly deciding to hold each others belts for a minute. Fuck was that about? I thought it would at least lead to Cody smashing the toy belt, but no, they just gave them straight back. Awkward as fuck.

And that wasn’t even the most embarrassing thing on the show, Cena’s Hulk Hogan impression takes that crown.

Straight back to only watching the PPVs for me, the weeklies just aren’t for me. Wrestlemania was great, but this was the same Raw we’ve had for the last 5 years except everyone is a bit more human and they have some cool camera shots.

    She’s just irritating

Yep, this sums it up for me. I don’t think she’s half as bad as some on here do, but she has these moments that really annoy me. Did I imagine it or did she pronounce “The Ring General” in a German accent when introducing Gunther? What’s that all about?

Anyway, perfectly decent but unremarkable show, but my main takeaway is how many people dress like utter planks. Rollins should be sacked for his attire last night. I can’t even hazard a guess at what he was going for. DIY, Gargano in particular because it’s basically his character, doing fancy dress is sad as fuck. Miz’s robe and headband attire, which he’s been wearing for the last decade, looks like he’s just gone mental on create-a-wrestler mode.

And then you’ve got the likes of Roman, Sami and Gunther, in my opinion the three best wrestlers on the card, going meat and potatoes and immediately stand out.

Oh, also, did anybody else notice one of the refs grabbing at Damien Priest’s foot while he was about to try and climb the ladder? Fuck was that all about?

  6. I’m always so nervous when I see this thread bumped because I naturally expect the worst. Unfortunately, today is the day I upset those who have the same worry.

My 10 year old cat Lily has today been diagnosed with lymphoma and to say I am devastated would be a massive understatement.

Over the last week her appetite has decreased significantly. It happened to coincide with the day we tried her on a different brand of food and I assumed she was just being picky, but it carried on after switching back to the original stuff. I took her to the vets yesterday and they initially said she has a heart murmur and enlarged intestines with some mild dehydration, so they gave her some drugs to increase her appetite which didn’t really seem to do much.

When I woke up this morning, I just knew she was ill. She’s usually in bed with us by 6am trying to wake us up for food, even in the last few days, but today she just stayed on the landing and didn’t seem bothered at all. I was a bit encouraged when she ate some biscuits and she was purring like a motherfucker when I gave her some attention, but I took her back to the vets and, yeah, lymphoma.

I now need to make the decision of chemotherapy, palliative care or having her put to sleep. After a quick google search, chemo seems to do quite well with certain types of lymphoma, but not others, and unfortunately the type she most likely has has the worst prognosis. I’d imagine we’ll bring her home and keep her comfortable for a few weeks - my fiancée is in Spain this week and I can’t have her put to sleep without giving her the chance to say goodbye.

So yeah, really sorry to bring the mood down. I’m a complete wreck at the moment and I have no idea how I’m going to go to work tomorrow and for the next few weeks when I want to spend every last minute with her.

Fuck getting another pet, I’m not sure this pain is worth it.

One thing I find hilarious is that Punk had a scrap with Jack Perry but got the lawyers involved because Hangman said something about him.

Sorry if I’m missing something but what lawyers are involved in the Punk/Hangman beef?

  8. First WrestleMania watched?

It was probably 15, but I vividly remember the first since getting Sky was 16 and taping it to watch before school, and then being absolutely livid because the tape ran out just as the main event started. At the time I didn’t know Raw was shown on Mondays and thought Friday was the first UK showing, so waiting a full school week to find out what happened was excruciating. Absolutely no idea how I managed to avoid spoilers considering everyone and their mam watched wrestling back then.

    Favourite WrestleMania?

Unsurprisingly, it’s 17, but for the sake of the conversation one of my favourites is 24. There’s something about the overall setting that I just absolutely loved, I think it being outdoors just gave it such a fresh feel that made it more enjoyable. I don’t think there’s a particularly stand out match, but also nothing I would consider outright bad. Aside from 17, it’s easily the one I go back to the most.

Have you ever been to WrestleMania?

I went to 32 in Dallas, the one where virtually everybody missed it due to injury so you ended up with completely bonkers matches such as Undertaker vs Shane. I know it’s not known as a good Wrestlemania, but I had a whale of a time to be honest and I’ve not watched it back on the Network at the risk of ruining it a bit. Plus, the NXT Takeover a few nights beforehand is the best they’ve ever done.

I had tickets to 33 in Florida but didn’t end up going because money was too tight, and I think I ended up giving away my tickets to somebody on here because selling them was too complicated.

    Best/Worst WrestleMania matches.

The best is easily Bret vs Austin. Nothing comes close. Shout outs to Rock vs Austin and TLC both from 17 too.

There have been some right stinkers but the one that sticks in my memory the most is Undertaker vs Roman from a few years back. Absolute dud.

    Best/Worst WrestleMania moments.

Bryan at 30, the end of Bret vs Austin, Edge’s spear from the ladder at 17 to name a few. Brock ending the streak was mental - I’d gone for a shit during the match because I wasn’t interested in such an obvious result and only came back into the room about a minute before it ended luckily. Also, an honourable mention goes to Linda McMahon standing up from the wheelchair. Say what you want about Austin’s pop when Foley won the title, but *this* is the biggest pop of all time.

Worst Wrestlemania moment? Take your pick from the last 6 or 7 years. There have been far too many unfortunately. Undertaker/Roman, Brock/Roman, HHH/Roman, Roman/Cody. Poor Roman.

    Favourite WrestleMania theme and/or intro?

17 obviously. Peter Gabriel at 22 too.

Favourite WrestleMania announcer call? ("The boyhood dream has come true" etc etc)

The one that always sticks out to me is “it’s Vince McMahon’s saddest day!” from JR when Austin wins the title at 15. Not sure I’d necessarily say it’s the best, but certainly the one that I feel the most nostalgic about.

Fuck it, I’m on the weekend shift alone in work, I’m sticking on 17.

  9. Not that it affected Garbisi making the kick, but France attempted to charge down that penalty twice. The clock should have been reset and he should have been given another go. I’d have been throwing hands if I were him in that moment.

  10. I don’t dislike Rollins half as much as some on here do, but him in that Grayson Waller segment was hands down one of the most embarrassing performances I’ve ever seen in wrestling. It’s almost impressive that Austin Theory wasn’t the worst thing about a segment.

If the deposit isn't protected then they've messed up and you can claim up to 3 times your deposit in compensation (depending on your tenancy type)

This happened to me about 7 years ago. It went through the courts and I was awarded £2,600 in compensation, but the shower of cunts immediately liquidated the company and I’ve not seen a penny of it. To rub salt in the wound, the company were still active on Facebook at least a year later when I contacted them under a fake name.

I still occasionally spend the odd afternoon googling any way to get the money, but at this point I’d accept their houses simply burning down.

  12. I’m rubbish with names on TV but Charlotte’s was one that I always remembered somehow. About half way through I was talking about her to my fiancée but tried to pretend I didn’t know her name, to which she replied “oh Charlotte, the one with big boobs?”.

I should have just said yes, but instead I said “oh does she have boobs?”. Dickhead.

  13. The faithfuls are absolutely useless this series. Paul should have been unanimously voted out after he turned up to breakfast and Meg didn’t, but since then they’ve randomly voted out Jonny on the flimsiest hunch, and then Anthony on not as flimsy evidence but still very little. The fact everyone but Jaz is completely overlooking Paul is mind boggling to me.

  14. I’m not particularly a Cody fan and ever since he lost at Mania I’ve been dreading them completely rehashing the entire feud for 40, from him winning the Rumble again and basically having the exact same feud with Roman. To me, it sounds like the most boring, lazy, pointless rehashing of a feud they could do.

And yet, given the choice of that or Rock vs Roman, I’d take Cody in a heartbeat. Christ, do the exact same match move for move for all I care.

The only way Rock vs Roman is a dream match to me is that I’ll be asleep when it happens.

  15. What has Punk actually said about Rollins that’s so bad? All I can find is Punk telling him to stop tweeting during the pathetic beef with Will Ospreay, but that’s can’t have possibly invoked such a tantrum from Rollins, right?

Even looking at this from a purely kayfabe perspective and assuming it’s all a work, it makes mega babyface Seth Rollins look like a complete toddler.

Oh, and it turns out his theme is the new official remastered and re-recorded version that was released on Spotify in the days before Survivor Series. His signing didn’t come together in the days before Survivor Series, the absolute wheeze bags. You don’t get a song re-recorded, remastered and with new artwork in that short a time period.

I was thinking the same thing, but apparently it’s a remaster of a version that was recorded for a Guitar Hero game in 2007.

Wales try to play expansively against Fiji and nearly lose. What a fucking shock. It’s almost as if no-one thought to look at 2007.

I’ve never identified with a player more than when Dan Biggar almost battered his thick cunt teammates for trying to run it back from their own goal line at half time.
