  1. watching some of the wwe network and the dvd releases over years had me thinking of things we missed watching WWF/WCW in the 1990s.

For example Macho Man is known as the Slim Jim guy. But we never really knew of that as we didn't see those commercials. and most of us wouldn't know what a Slim Jim is either.

    Mean Gene's WCW hotline promos.

Not being able to watch WCW PPV's. We would get 4 weeks of build up and not get to see the show. Occasionally they would show some on the German channel DSF but it was a few months later. Only later on you could buy the video tapes by mail order.

I'll add more as I think of them.

  2. I can take or leave Lucha Underground. I quite enjoy it when I watch it but I don't care if I miss it. It's different and I appreciate what they are trying to do. That genre of wrestling isn't particularly for me anyway.

It's certainly not boring or over-rated. The title of the thread is stupid though. It should be stuff that just doesn't float your boat. That's fine, each to their own.

That's true. I should done things that don't float your boat or things that annoy you.

For annoying I would have added. When people hit finishers in Royal Rumbles it makes their opponent stand up and fall over the top rope when it doesn't normally.

Also in traditional survivor series matches. Finishers and other moves seem far more devastating and easier to execute than usual as people are eliminated quickly.

  3. I hate any match that has more than one-fall. I don't mean elimination matches, more like Iron-man, 2 out of 3 falls style. It's so hard to keep these unpredictable. Some are great matches don't get me wrong but the general gimmick of them I hate, how many 2 out of 3 falls matches actually finish 2-0? Takes me out of the suspense a bit during the 1-0 to 1-1 period as you kind of know what's going to happen.

I second Rick's shout on Last Man Standing matches, just no excitement while a referee counts to ten continually.

I was watching Vader V Cactus Jack last night. they had a weird 30 second rest period then made the count. The refs cound and Gary Michael Capetta's count didn't match up either.

The match was pretty brutal but the ref was counting both men at the last fall which didn't make sense.

  4. The stuff was filmed before he sued them.  He was probably paid a decent fee for being interviewed for the ECW stuff, and the Hardcore DVD, but he is suing for his old matches being on the Network.

Thanks. I wish he'd stop trying to sue WWE all the time.

I hope that a lawsuit of that nature does lead to the WWE network having to remove stuff or new commentary like when they dubbed over Jessie Ventura with new commentary on old WWF tapes.

  5.

    6) NJPW AJPW from the 90's I'd spend loads of money on tapes as I thought I was supposed to like this stuff but I didn't like it. I'd enjoy watching W*ing more.

90's Deathmatches were far more enjoyable than the 5* Misawa dances, at the time at least. The spectacle of Onitas batshit insane inventions mixed in with some great drama at times held my attention much better.

I never understood the danger of falling into a swimming pool whilst some fireworks went off but the fans loved it.

That was the weirdest one for me. still I watched it.

  6. Why did you find all of these boring and/or overrated?

Maybe for Scott Norton he didn't have much of a character when I saw him.

for Japanese stuff it may just be the style of the wrestling. different type of crowd, Maybe ROH same sort of thing. There was some great matches no doubt and great performers but I just never liked it.

I liked the Benoit, Eddie, Malenko stuff later on. maybe in the ECW setting it didn't seem right. Though I feel the crowd are pretty silent during those matches.

Triple H never really did it for me. felt forced always seemed like the same thing over and over.

    I'm old now.

  7. been a fan all my life was just thinking back to some of the stars who I found boring.

Or certain things that I was told was amazing but didn't get it. In no particular order just somethings that come to mind. I don't watch much these days.

    1) Scott Norton. quite forgettable really. I only just thought about him as I was listening to Bischoff's podcast. I never really got into his Japanse stuff.

    2) The Malenko,Benoit,Guerrero in ECW. I was a ECW fan at the time it was around and would buy the tapes to be honest I'd often skip these matches or watch them on fast forward.

    I miss Rob Butchers, lists.

    3) Ring of Honor 2003-2005 I tried to get into it. Never liked it.

    4) Triple H.

    5) First 15 minutes of Raw or Nitro.

Others that friends can't stand that I like Greg Valentine,

That's just some I can think of for now.

  8. I liked the finish. It's already probably been said here but I haven't read through all the comments had a MMA vibe to it.

It was done perfectly even though it was a complete squash it was set up clearly to show that Lesnar was not prepared and got caught off guard.

Ok you might have wanted a longer match but this sets up many possibilities. Goldberg can now be involved further, He looked in great shape to be honest. Doesn't hurt Lesnar really.

We need more of this in Wrestling. much better than the usual predictable outcomes. I haven't been following WWE much in recent years and I did watch one show (maybe Wrestlemania I don't know as I said I am out of the loop) where Triple H was on the card and I thought how long before the sledgehammer comes out. He then brought it out zzzzzzzzzz.

After all wrestling is supposed to be a contest where anything can happen.

  9. I thought the Randy Savage Jake the Snake Roberts Feud never really came to a proper end PPV wise.

I know the had a match I think  on Saturday Nights main event but never seemed have the big pay off at the end. Perhaps the timing wasn't great as Royal Rumble in 92 was for the belt so both had to be included in the mix for that.

I know Savage went on to WM to win the title so it worked out for him and Jake ended up leaving.

  10. This was my first RPW show and I have to say that I haven't never seen so many false finishes, punches, kicks, slaps in my life !. Maybe I am too old school, I am 40 next year ! but felt they needed more variety on the card. 2 Piledrivers were kicked out of last night !!!

I agree. the first half the card had too many of this back and forth chop the shit out of each other/forearms to the face. And so many spins! You don't need all these 'false' finishes either. They are not really false finishes in this case though. more like false false finishes.

Though nobody thought Vader was gonna get the 3 count after a chokeslam! He kicked out at 1 on the first one.

I thought the main event was done brilliantly actually.

  11. I have a load of ECW shirts already but I am looking for a few to complete the collection.

Looking for a sandman ecw shirt. Either the early design or the blood sweat and beers one.

    Also interested Raven t-shirt.

Also Hard Core Cafe shirt and this design.

Will consider other ones too. I am looking for sizes M or L ideally.

  12. I have met sinbad from brookside too come to think of it,

I work in the hotel industry and this guy was always looking for attention

he'd come down to the lobby walk about with his phone out looking to be noticed then nobody cared and he went back upstairs,

i've met all of girls aloud, Sarah was very nice to talk to, dead flirty, met her in work and outside of work in a bar, with a lot of time inbetween,

Bob Holness was a nice bloke,

  13. congratulations to the FWAwhat ever the FWA will do will always have people that disagree. Its a tremendous deal and there are other channels for other wrestling feds.people forget it is a business and FWA have to look out for them selves as a business before looking out for anyone else.
