Angel is a good shout, a professional gig to try 5 minutes is good.Â
-
5 minutes, try writing a few different 5's and trying them out. If you've never done it before, 5 feels like it lasts forever.Â

Courses help, some good new comics I know did courses. I just decided to hit as many open mic nights as possible, testing different bits of material and constantly restructuring it until I had something solid.
Gongs shows are worth a pop just to test your mettle with an audience. Open mic music gigs are good to try as it will give a different audience and a chance to see how your writing stands. Go on stage knowing fully well it could be fucking shit, it will make you try more, and don't get rattled if something doesn't land. Look at why it didn't. I've met new acts at gong shows who thought their shit didn't stink and they were not prepared for an audience that didn't roll with their expectations.
Just keep consistent, and write as much as you can (time yourself) etc. I've only been back performing for 10 months and I'm just a shade under 100 gigs. If your serious, dive in and prepare to travel a lot.

That reminds me to rewatch The Apple. What an absolutely baffling bit of film.

Great shout there. Crime in Sports is absolutely fantastic.

It should, can you give us a few details to get us started? Â Do you want one liners or a 5 minute piece?
Seriously, that's shit, mate. Â I lived with my first ex wife for about a year after we split, it was hell. Â She was moving on with her life but I couldn't until she moved out.
As people have already asked, yes, spare room. Thank goodness. A decent 10 minutes has been written, and 5 minutes about living with my girlfriend has been hastily rewritten.

Me and the missus split in August. We're so broke we are still sharing a flat... till March. Should make some good material.

Redgarding those old SKY ads, that Camden night out with No Holds Barred/Wrestlemania VI sounded excellent.

Bad news for Butch this one.
Lance Russell was absolutely fantastic at what he did. Really great host.
'Ah, come on nowww'.

Loved it, though some of the stuff was so vague and some of the characters introduced provided literally nothing. Odd mix.

Massively not arsed due to being a CIS white male mate.

Yeah it's from the Daily Mail, do one. But a guy has done a documentary slating the Apu character for being massively racist. Thoughts about that. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/~/article-4741446/index.html

Bagsy Slam 91!

Big fan of the Summerslam 1991 opener. I loved the look the Dragon had as a child in his 91 run.
Tornado had a whopping good entrance theme as well.

GLOW

Really good series, I enjoyed a lot of it. I was well into the last episode when Pat Benatar started blasting out. More Alison Brie in a leotard taa. Give them a second series you shit.
-
Sooooo we are halfway through the return series. Any thoughts, is everyone enjoying it? Some of it has been downright bizarre.
-
Who knows, I've watched the first four episodes and I think my mind has fell out my ears. I might need to rewatch some of that.Â

I've heard lots of good things about Twin Peaks (on here I think?) but can anybody tell me what its about and whether the new ones can be watched without seeing the old ones?
Probably not, I'd watch the old ones. It would be really hard to make sense of absolutely anything.

Just finished 'A Woman Under the Influence'. What a fucking exhausting experience that was. Absolutely fantastic performances from Peter Falk and Gena Rowlands. Top marks.

GLOW

GLOW is fucking ace. Rotten in the ring, but I think it's genuinely fun in a mad way. The Housewives are super fun. I love the sheer gall of calling a character Palastina too.
Â
The documentary is well worth a punt.

Binged through it all to get a buzz for the new series, I forgot how horrific THAT scene is (a fair few TP scenes are disturbing, but one ranks way above). Can't wait to see how this new series pans out.

It's kind of politics related, but the Chechnya Gay Concentration Camp thing. What that actual fuck is happening and if it is why are many leaders very 'meh' about it.

I'm doing a comedy lecture about the Sinclair C5 in London tonight at the Harrison if anyone is randomly inthe area. All the other acts have legit degrees. My BA Hons is Drama should slot in alright.

Only on my 6th lesson, feeding the wheel is ruining me. Concentration Chilli.
