  1. The Welsh Labour spin machine is in overdrive tonight. Not a fucking chance was there a deal between Plaid, the Tories or UKIP. Its the opposition parties who are frustrated after 17 years of a 'tired' Lab Government, this is no Rainbow Coalition, just a bit of muscle flexing.

The multi-million dollar investment company who bought and sold Segway are in talks with TNA Wrestling to become their official partner … this according to multiple sources.

Our sources tell us one of the organizations discussing a possible partnership with TNA is Summit Strategic Investments, and the deal could be huge for the wrestling company.

SSI has a successful track record and is known for “transforming troubled assets.”

In 2013, the company acquired Segway after the owner of the company passed away and sold it 2 years later. According to USA Today, the buyers received $80 million from a group of investors to finance the purchase. The investment company also helped to resurrect Fisker Automotive in 2015 with the help of their partner, Wanxiang — a wealthy Chinese auto-parts company.

    Here’s where things get interesting.

The CEO of SSI is named Roger Brown. His brother, Jason Brown, is the CEO of Aroluxe Media … the outsourced company TNA uses to help produce Impact Wrestling.

We’re told Aroluxe Media are simply the production arm of Aroluxe Marketing — the company initially pin-pointed as a potential investor — and our sources say neither are in talks to buy a stake in TNA.

However, former WCW wrestlers Ron Harris and Don Harris do indeed work for Aroluxe Media … and we’re told if the deal between SSI/TNA goes down, they’ll likely keep their current roles.

We made multiple attempts to find out how much stake in the company Summit Strategic Investments is looking to purchase, but so far haven’t had any luck getting the answer.

    Stay tuned.

  3. Its only good news if TNA are in trouble at the minute. Might not look like it, but the less leverage Dixie has, the more potential a sale is. Unless she's really mental and thinks she can salvage this mess on her own. There's apparently a buyer willing to take it on, so hopefully she sells up now she cant afford the office space she's had since 1993. The only way TNA is going to get out of the funk they are in is if there's a some new blood injected into the running of it. Get some new ideas and try and regain some trust back into the wrestling audience. Really, the only advantage Dixie had as an owner was Panda's backing. Now they've stopped putting money into it, a self sufficient Dixie is only going to go one way.

The big story of it is that the office space she was wasnt a TNA office space. It was a building she's been renting since the early 90s for various business ventures. The fact she had to move wasnt a choice she wanted to make.

I can't say I'm one of these "Dixie is the anti-christ" types, but it really concerns me that her pride would insist she go down with the Titanic rather than sell and let someone else run it.

You can't blame any investors for insisting on a 51% stake can you? I can't imagine ploughing money into something and letting Dixie Carter free reign to do what she likes with it.

Any word on this investor/s may be? Could it be The Fight Network?

  4. I've always found it fascinating just how big Nash & Hall became in 1996 and just what a big deal their jump to WCW was. As cool as the Ramon gimmick was, Hall had never been a main eventer in the WWF and Nash hadn't long come off the worst drawing run as WWF Champion in history up to that point. They just looked like huge stars from the outset after jumping. Makes you question what the WWF was doing with them but also shows how the rub of being a WWF guy had great importance even at a real low ebb for the company.

Seeing what WCW was doing with them, Nash particularly, in the brilliant video posted above is almost offensive.

I don't want to hijack the thread, as its intended for videos after all, but I agree wholeheartedly.

I've even heard people say that Razor Ramon would have made WWF champion, but the closest he ever came really was the 1993 Rumble match against Bret and was never near hitting those heights again.

If they'd pulled the trigger very early into his run, and left him in the Flair/Macho/Mr Perfect fold, then maybe. But he ended up being a solid upper midcarder and there's nothing wrong with that.

  5. I know it means bugger all as the ratings system isn't that dependable for relatively small networks, but last night's viewership was down to 272,000 from 312,000 last week.

Only thing I would add is that quite a few people have probably had enough wrestling for this week after Wrestlemania etc. Didn't watch Impact last week so no idea if it went down in quality or not.

  6. Tatanka was my favourite wrestler as a kid. I'm not even sure why, but I bloody cried when Ludvig Borga took away his winning streak after Yoko smacked him with a chair.

Looking back, I was 9 years old in 1993 so I was a bit old for nonsense like that. I even felt a pang of sadness when watching it back not long ago on Youtube.

  7. Watched the JBL interview with Michael P.S Hayes while at the gym last night (its taken me months to figure out it had free wi-fi...) and its definately worth a look. Felt a bit rushed though, would have loved to hear more Freebirds road stories.

  8. There's a lot about modern booking that I don't like, but can't say I hated what they did there tbh. Isn't it pretty normal to build up the heel to set up a big win for the babyface at the big show?

AJ Styles' opponent was also much higher up the card than Fandango.

I suppose its different if you watch Raw regularly though and get jaded by it week after week.

  9. Another New Day/League of Nations dogshit segment.

I'm so glad someone said that.

I'm off work today and as I wasn't tired, I ended up watching a little over two hours of Raw in what must have been the most WWE TV I've watched since the last Wrestlemania.

Having read a lot about the New Day, I must say that based on last night's evidence, their act is a load of bollocks! I hope that's not usually the case.

I quite liked the old-school simpleness of the Jericho/AJ Styles build but that Andre Battle Royal segment was a load of nonsense filler wasn't it?

  10. Never understood why Vince is so afraid of history. SuperBowl 50 was massive simply because it was the 50th one. Yet they won't even acknowledge WrestleMania numbers anymore because Vince doesn't want it to seem like something "old".

I think we've long established that junior is off his rocker.

  11.

Bob Ryder claiming TNA have made 5 new signings.

I fully expect at least 3 of them to be Bram.

To be fair to TNA if they have been able to bring in 5 new guys because of letting Roode and Young go that is pretty smart, given that they have done every single thing possible with them a million times over. Interesting to see who they are - would two of them be

    Marcus Louis and Sylvester LeFort???

It is good in a way because they were probably among the biggest earners and it does free up some space in the wage bill. After all, the roster is hardly stacked in numbers.

Not sure I entirely agree there was nothing left to do with Roode and Young though. Its amazing they managed to turn Young's character a complete 180 from being a wimpy face to being a total cock.

But you still need a set number of 'name' guys on the roster, especially ones you'd immediately associate with TNA. Who do they have left nowadays? Abyss and James Storm? I think this may hurt TNA more than even losing AJ did.
