  1. There are loads of alternatives.

Meh, I've never liked any of them tbh. WWE NXT is painted as the second coming, but I've never been on that bandwagon, and ROH has always come over as indy fap material to me.

Not as much over recent years of course, but nowhere apart from the WWE have you seen genuine star power like Sting, Hogan, Angle, Flair etc.

  2. One Man Gang's house just got destroyed in a hurricane or something, so I imagine he's throwing the big mans name out there for a nice payday.

As far as factions go, I think the nWo were dead certs for 2016 until the Hogan thing happened. I imagine they'd only induct the original 3 and maybe Bischoff.

Bollocks. I'd want the whole faction on stage, Virgil/Vincent and all.

  3. TNT wasn't available on Sky Digital. I remember because when we switched to Sky Digital in early 2000 I managed to convince my family to retain the old analogue subscription solely so I could still see WCW. So TNT was still around but the number of homes being able to access it was drastically reducing as the year went on. Don't know the specifics of the Bravo deal but I would guess that was a key factor.

The allure of Sky Digital quickly wore off when I realised WCW wrestling and random episodes of ECW and Smokey Mountain on DSF were a thing of the past (not to mention the softcore German stuff).

  4.

Watched In Your House 2. I remember it not being on SKY when it originally aired and remember getting IYH 1,2,3 for Christmas that year.

The first In Your House event on Sky was Revenge of the Taker in April '97. It was shit that Sky didn't have the rights to IYH for the first 2 years.

I recall that most of the PPV used to be shown on WWF Mania/Action Zone

  5. Or in the world of TNA is he considered a big enough star to be known by just his first name, like Cher? It'd be marginally better than that couple of weeks when they ran into legal problems once WWE signed the Shane Twins and Shawn's cousin was billed solely as "Michael".

Surely its better to call him 'Cody' than give him a false monniker when everyone will call him Cody Rhodes anyway? A single name didn't do Goldberg or Ryback too much harm after all!

  6. That's always going to be the difference for me between TNA and WWE.

Despite how shit Raw and Smackdown can be, there's still people there that I've loved and followed for years and actually care enough about to tune in.

I might like a couple of things on Impact but not nearly enough to bother with it most weeks.

I'm on a different wavelength tbh as I consider "my era" to be anything pre 2001, so with there being so few (if any some weeks) characters from that period on WWE TV these days, I couldn't give a shit about 90% of what's on TV.

I know its a ridiculous way to look at Wrestling, but whereas I will forever love 80's and 90's WWF and WCW, I don't feel any affection towards what they produce these days.

Throw in an appearance by the Undertaker, or an Old-School themed Raw, for example, or something everyone's talking about like the Brock v Randy Orton match, and I'll watch.

But TNA, being an easy watch for two hours a week compared to the countless hours you have to invest into WWE, is so much more digestable.

  7. I'm not one to follow the company's narrative, but I've always considered Austin to be #1 during the late 90's/early 2000's with the Rock a strong second and in a position to step up to the plate at any time. Austin has a better back story I suppose, having come up through the dying embers of the territorial days whereas the Rock pretty much went from playing American Football to being given a WWF contract.

Its probably all to do with Austin's major role in helping turn around the number two company while Rocky's main event push came when they were already the clear top dog.

(Hulk is still the biggest star of all time though)
