  7. What struck me when reading this was Foleys age

He is currently 58 which means when he did the original retirement at No Way out in 2000 and then the Final Match Fatal 4 Way at Wrestlemania he was only 34

I'd never really thought about how young he actually was, of course he had so much wear and tear on his body that his 34 was somewhat different to the average wrestlers 34 years especially in todays environment but still when you see the longevity of people these days it was just striking how he actually felt kinda old in 2000 and it was maybe time to retire.

No real desire to see him have one last match though just get in better shape and stay healthy should be his only goal

  10. I'm quite sad and keep records of the events I've been to and matches seen on those shows, I've been to 43 Live WWE shows, highlights being 3 Wrestlemanias (26 with my best mate and the last two 38 and 39 with my wife and daughter) and the Raws after Mania each time, Extreme Rules 2014 in New Jersey and both UK events Clash at the Castle and Money In the Bank

We are going to Philadelphia to complete the 3 in a row this year, this year was a bit more wait and see but once The Rock was involved we've gone ahead as he is the only top star I've never seen now having ticked off Austin in Dallas 2 years ago

My First event was Tour De Force back in 2003 at London Arena with the card being (according to my notes)

Triple Threat Match: Matt Hardy (w/Shannon Moore) Beat Rey Mysterio and Jamie Noble (w/Nidia)
    Sean O'Haire Beat Brian Kendrick
    Rhyno Beat A-Train
Torrie Wilson Beat Nidia , Sable Guest Ring Announcer
WWE Title Match: Brock Lesnar (C) Beat Big Show
Team Angle (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass) Beat Los Guerreros (Chavo and Eddie)
    John Cena Beat Chris Benoit
Tajiri and Rikishi Beat FBI (Chuck Palumbo and Jonny Stamboli) (w/Nunzio)

I've also been to a couple of Ring of Honor shows, NJPW at the Cooper Box and 4 TNA shows back in late 00s-early 10s

I've spent far far to much money in my life watching wrestling but I wouldn't change in for the world

  11. Drumroll please as the results are in and we have a new champion

Congratulations go to @hbk4life who takes home the title with a storming Champions Calibre Super Bowl round, going into the week with just a 2 point lead they managed to stay ahead and then some to be the top scorer (by a wide margin of 21 points) of the round and one of just 2 into the rare Triple Figures

That is the first title for a long term player as last years runner up goes one better to win the crown

A valiant effort from debutant @David who takes the runner up spot at the 1st attempt, can they go one better next year with a years experience?

I finished 3rd for the 2nd year in a row and was the 4th highest scorer of the round, @SpykeDudlei1 was the 3rd highest scorer to jump to 5th as we both overhauled the falling @Vegeta who had the lowest score of the round to drop from 3rd to 6th as @seph maintained 4th just outside the medals for the 2nd year in a row

@Bradyisgod22 went for a hail Mary in desperation to hold on to the crown and it kind of worked as our former champion joined the new champion in hitting triple figures, aided by taking the bonus 10 Points for being closest to the 1st touchdown time (though we were all way off) as no one saw us having to wait until late 2nd qtr for that to come along and they also added another 10 for being closest to the total yards as well

Other debutant @Dead Mike had a very good final round to consolidate 8th with @johnnyboy taking 9th but still they remain our only 3 time champion and I'm sure we will see a rebound next season from one of the giants of this competitions history

so that's a wrap, congrats once again to Hbk4life for finally taking the title home and thank you all for playing and hope to see you all in around 6 and a half months time when we do it all again

Also… what’s the deal with Ivar here? Is he a singles now or still half of War Viking Machine Raiders? And is Valhalla still with them?

Erik has been on the shelf since around Septmeber/October time, think it was neck and spinal injuries and he had surgery ruling him out for an indefinite timeframe but the general consensus seemed to be up to 9 months at least

Since then Ivar has been a singles competitor to some moderate success, carried on the rivalry with New Day before moving into a beefy rivalry with Bronson Reed which had a couple of decent matches, one ended up in just brawling around the arena.

Currently been feuding with Alpha Academy on Raw

Yes Valhalla is still with him, they had a mixed Tag this past week on Raw beating Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri easily in a couple of minutes.

  16. My initial thoughts after watching were

Rocks Vs Cody on Night 1 where Cody has to beat the Rock to get to Roman for night 2

Seth isn't in the picture in all this for me, he was just on the stage to leave the tease Cody might pick him.

I think he'll be left to Raw now to face Drew and Sami in a 3 way at Wrestlemania to open Night 1

I can't see a tag at the Chamber if Seth is still hurt and even having a match at this point would put his potential Mania plans in trouble with one wrong move.

  17. A ceiling Slug? As someone that really hates slugs that is indeed a new fear to look out for.

Could it have come from the hoover somehow, been underneath and knocked off in the process of hoovering?

That reminds me of my old house, we had the washing machine in the kitchen and it was against the back wall so the garden/Decking was the other side of the wall.

The landlord wasn't the best (one for the renting thread) and the decking wasn't well maintained over the years prior to us moving in so after only about 6 months or so i put my foot through it, landlord sent someone round and he basically said its totally rot and suggested ripping it out entirely and building a brand new decking area.

The landlord decided its too expensive and just ripped it out and left about a 7 ft x 20 ft gap in the back garden which dropped down by about 2 foot from the level of the grass and rest of the garden.

Anyway to get to the point, a few weeks later I noticed a slug in the kitchen floor, next day another one, and it continued at one point we had 7-8 just sliding up the cupboards, on the floor, on the cooker

We tried to put salt down all around the edges of the tiling to at least keep them under the worktops etc but didn't seem to work at first

Tuned out under the decking part of the house by the drain from the washing machine there was a slight hole/gap in the wall which had gotten damp now the decking had gone and they were coming in from that

We just threw as much salt down as possible and did the best to patch it up.

It seemed to work out as after a while we never saw them again

Sorry that was a bit of a ramble of topic but the mention of slugs just made me shiver remembering the day we had loads of them in the kitchen at once.

  20. Well we head into the Superbowl with things very much undecided

Former leader @David rebounded from losing his lead last week by being the top scorer of the round with 86, leader @hbk4life did have a good week themselves and were equal 3rd highest scorers scoring 76 which leaves us with just 2 Points separating them as things are going right to the wire

@Vegeta was the other to score 76 and moves into 3rd, above @seph whilst my score of 77 was 2nd best of the week and moved me into 5th as just 5 points separate 3rd-5th but that is still 25-30 off the top spot and maybe too big a gap to close but we have seen a large gap overcome before

@SpykeDudlei1 was the lowest scorer of those who had full scores counting and dropped to 6th

@Bradyisgod22 and @johnnyboy both scored 70, with the former picking up the extra 5 for being closest to the total yards this week, @Dead Mike had the scores of Purdy and McCaffrey removed due to breaking the rule of no more then 2 players from a single team resulting in the highest scoring 2 being expunged

The Superbowl post will be up shortly
