  1.

So even though I signed up before the free month it looks like wwe have unsubscribed me as of this morning. Never Intended to cancel the network ever but as they've done it for me I might just keep it that way. Really poor service

I had the same problem till I cleared my cookies out and logged in and it worked mine.

Tried this & its making no difference for me.

Oh Well.  Maybe a blessing in disguise - there is nothing on that I am massively fussed about until 'Maina so I guess it saves me a tenner...........

  2. Silas Young has a great voice and mustache.

Only found out the other day Silas Young is Stan Hansen's nephew. Somewhat makes me want to cheer for him more.

Young has denied this in the past - he did a podcast where he was asked this and he stated it was an internet myth made up by someone & that he has never even met Hansen.

Silas Young podcast - its on this podcast - its brought up just after the 28 min point.

  3. I wanna buy ROH tickets for the wrestlemania weekend, but ticketmaster doesn't display anything...Are the shows sold out?

You might want to try going though ROH's website - according to that tickets are still available & they have a link for ordering on the front page.

  4. Why are so many of Jackie Chan's HK films out of print and expensive? Even downloading them is a pain in the arse because half of the time they are both unsubtitled and undubbed.

I think part of the reason is that the main distributor over here (Cine Asia) seem to have stopped trading. They where in the process of re-releasing a lot of older films (like project A, Battlecreek Brawl etc) and then just stopped. A quick check on google suggests the went into administration sometime in 2012.

  5. Question for any puro fans having just watched the Liger/Muta match in the must see match thread, was it ever implied that the different colour mists that Muta spat had different affects or were any different to each other? I think in WWE Tajiri's black mist was always put over as being deadliest

    According to Wikipedia:

    Green Mist

  6. the last t2 days every time i try to sign into PSN i geat a message saying they're doing maintenance work on it. is anyone else getting the same.

Thats because they are carrying out maintenance work on the network. There is a message up on the Lovefilm site about it (as it is causing issues for some people wanting to use their instant service via a PS3). According to the message it should be finished around 10pm tonight.

  7. You have to be a Ringside member, or attend their upcoming show in New Jersey to avail of the offer...but yeah, still a pretty sad state of affairs.

I have seen this on their website etc. However, I am not a ringside member. Never have been.

The email I received said that my details had come up in a 'random draw on the ROH database'. I was just curious as to how random the draw actually was.

  8. Ultimately for me it felt as though the author before writting this book had no clue who JYD was and more than likely isn't even a big wrestling fan (he makes a couple of factual errors at certain points during the book) to cover this up and to fill pages he instead gives short un-nessacary bio's of wrestlers which in a small way are interesting but have no place in a book that supposed to be about a single person. There's a section in the book were for around 10 or more pages, JYD isn't even mentioned, instead we are given a more in depth bio of 'Cowboy' Bill Watts. Key moments in the career of JYD are skimmed over e.g. How he became signed with WWE and his time in WCW, his personal family life is very rare mentioned so you don't for a second feel as though your getting to know the Slyvester Ritter the person and family man away from the business.

I read this a couple of months ago myself. I actually enjoyed the book a lot more than you did, however, your comment I have bolded above is spot on. It might just be my memory but I seem to recall several sections in the book where JYD is not mentioned for pages. At times I kind of got the impression that the author was caught between writing a bio on JYD and writing the history of the Mid-south territory (and not really achieving either in the end).

Like I said, I did enjoy it, but it was covering both a wrestler and a territory that I know very little about - if I was more knowledgable about these things my opinion may have been different.

  9. Just got back from Dredd and it's a surprisingly bloody cracker that gets right to the point and hardly ever takes it's foot of the pedal.

Best comic book movie this year.

Ooh.. I'm supposed to be going to this tonight but was kinda looking to weasel out of it, but now I'm thinking twice.. Anyone else here seen it?

I saw it on Friday. Its definately one of the better comic book adaptions around and worth checking out. I think Avengers was better but I am not sure you can fairly compare the two really.

  10. This seems to be the best place to ask this (as it may a bit of a long shot).

Is anyone familiar with the game Baten Kaitos which was released on the Gamecube probably about 7/8 years ago? It was an RPG which used a card battle system.

Does anyone know if there are there any games like this available on the PS3?

  11. Does anyone have that ridiculous triple suplex GIF from Final Battle? Someone posted it before, but for the life of me can't think where.

Cant double check at the mo as I am using my mobile but wont it be in the ROH thread? 99% sure it appeared at least once in there.

Edit Still on phone so I am not certain but based on some of the comments it appears around early Jan

  12. Not sure if this has already been asked.

Since last years MITB ppv how many times have the WWE ran angles where someones job was on the line or was fired/replaced? It feels like they are happening on a monthly basis the moment.

Off the top of my head I can think different of angles involving Cena, Vince McMahon, HHH, Big Show, Teddy Long, John Laurinaitis...

  13. So, am I the only person who thinks Buff Bagwell is missing from modern wrestling tv? Such an entertaining character. He's still pretty young, isn't he? Does anyone know what he's doing now, and whether TNA/WWE have shown any interest in him in recent years?

Was'nt he in a really bad car crash a couple of weeks ago? I think he hurt his neck pretty badly (may have even suffered a broken neck). I could have sworn there was a thread about it on here.Edit - I was right - there was:Bagwell Car Crash Thread
  14. Just throwing them out there, probably wrong

    Film 1

    Cherry 2000

    Film 2

    EDIT What Gladstone said !!

Dead Heat - Yes!!! Thats the one. (+ to make things even better the full movie up on Youtube. Thats tonights viewing sorted).

Re film 2 - Had a quick look on Wiki & I'm 99% certain its not Cherry 2000. I actually have a vague recollection of when Cherry 2000 was released on video & I am pretty sure I saw my mystery film well before then.

Sounds like my old 80's fave Battletruck which I actually saw before Mad Max 2. If it's not that I'll throw 'Stryker' & 'Wheels Of Fire' into the mix too. Early 80's were awash with Road Warrior movies.

    Cheers.

Based on the trailer you linked it could well be Battletruck. Def not Stryker although from the clip I found on Youtube I am probably going to have to hunt a copy of this down as well - it looks like it falls into the 'so bad its awesome' category of film that I love.

Edit - have just watched Battletruck on Youtube & it is the film I was trying to identify. Cheers to everyone who helped identify the films.

  16. Sorry if I am putting this into the wrong thread but it seems to be the most suitable......

Can someone help me identity a couple of films that have got themselves stuck in my head. They are both probably from the mid 80's and both fairly low key/obscure releases. From what I can recall (which is not much) the details are:

    Film 1:

    A) Had a Mad Max 2 post-apocalyptic setting

    B) The hero rode a motorcross/scramble bike of some type (I suspect that a lot of the action sequences involved the hero jumping over stuff with explosions going off in the background).

    C) The hero is wounded at some point and has the other good guys cauterize the wound so he can go out & save the day.

    Film 2:

    A) Is a buddy cop film where the twist is that one of the cops is killed off fairly early on but then is somehow re-animated and comes back to help is partner.

    B) I am not sure why but I think one of the main actors may be a 'reasonably' well known B movie level actor.

Sorry my recollections are so vague.

Cheers in advance to anyone who can help.

  17. If anyone has any plans to download the ROH iPPV, I suggest you wait until the replay and get your links from there. It was appearently unwatchable. Lance Storm was saying cups were a thrown backstage due to how bad the show was coming across via live stream. Did anyone watch it? How bad was the quality? Was it as bad as people are saying?

I heard Steen vs Generico is really good, though. I like Steen. Could do with a new outfit, though.

Did not watch it but from the review on the Observer site (and what was said in their forums) the audio was utterly fucked. From what people are saying the commentary was between 10 & 30 seconds ahead of the action...... Its a shame really as it was supposed to be a pretty decent show

    It gets better......

According to people on the F4W forums the replay is now up & running. Apparently all the sound issues have been resolved but the replay is/was (not sure if this has been sorted yet) cutting out during the the Generico/Steen match.

So far they are not exactly doing themselves any favours this weekend

  19. Has anyone tried to update their account to the paid recently? There are a few shows I am after so I figure its a good time to join up to take advantage of the additional 15% off you get but whenever I try to do this I get a message which says that the option is not available on my account. Anyone else come across this?

  20. Ip Man

I finally watched this last night. It is just brilliant! Its different to the usual Martial Arts films I've seen in the past, combining amazing action scenes with a pretty good drama storyline. I loved Donnie Yen too, would love to get recommendations for more of his films (apart from IP Man 2 and 3, which are already on my list)

I am in the same boat as you when it comes to Donne Yen - I have watched martial arts films for as long as I can remember but, for some reason, I never used to watch any of his films. I picked up Dragon Tiger Gate a couple of years ago as I had heard good things about it & that sold me on him big time. Of his more recent stuff I would recommend (the already mentioned) Dragon Tiger Gate, Flashpoint or Kill Zone. I tried watching 14 Blades but I could not get into it.

I'm not familiar with his older stuff though so cannot suggest anything from earlier on in his career. From previous threads about Martial Arts films I think there are a few people on here who are better suited to recommend stuff from his older films than I am.

Great cover again, They really have stepped up with the covers!

Bloody hell! I had completely forgotten that this show had even taken place. I used to be a massive ROH fan but to say that my attention in the product has waned would be a massive understatement.

Does anyone remember if the show was any good? The line up is not that great considering Glory By Honor is/was usually one of ROH's bigger events of the year.

  22. I don't remember an Aliens game being made by Ocean. There were two versions (usually referred to as the UK and US versions). One by Activision, which was a primitive first person shooter, and the other which was a mix of levels that involved landing the dropship, walking around the atmosphere processor, and having a punch up with the Queen using the power loader.ly

Sorry - I was not being clear. I was talking about film adaptions/conversions in general. (For what its worth - its the Activision version I was on about).

  23. nightbreedgame1.JPG

Came on here to mention this game as well. Cant actually remember if it was any good though.............

Getting back to Robocop - I loved this game when I was younger. I have a really clear memory of the first person shooting the rapist section, where, if you got there with full energy, you could just kill the hostage & then shoot the rapist and the game would still let you continue to the next level.......

There where some terrible film conversions back then - Highlander has already been mention. Big Trouble In Little China was terrible. I seem to recall the Aliens game on the speccy being a total cracker though.
