  1. It’s a weird snapshot in time too, they have likeness rights to the late 90s comic so nothing from the movies makes any appearance in Universal. Odd distinction too that Disney also can’t use the word Marvel in any park in the US, regardless of whether it’s west of the Mississippi or not.

  2. Right time to start Stormcasts, they’ll get their usual new models/glow up when 4th edition comes next year. I’ve just started a Cities of Sigmar army for the new year, the vast sea of grey in front of me is very daunting at the moment!

I made the mistake of trying expert on Beat Saber and I'm not sure my arms can even move that fast, let alone in a coordinated manner. And there's an even harder setting too? Madness.

Takes time, but you can get there :) turn off game over, that means you can run through the whole song and not get stuck at the first point of failure.

also, and at risk of the ooc thread, try and use your wrists more than your arms,  makes the quick movement more achievable.

I think you can also sideload some ones people have created but I haven't got that complicated quite yet. Need to master the basic stuff first 😐

Side loading isn’t too hard, there’s a few steps but nothing complex - lots of good tutorials too which helps. The mods available really open the game up too by increasing frame rate and resolution (makes it look more like the pc version) and there’s a huge song building community online putting new stuff out daily.

I seem to be okay with it headache wise which I was worried about. Only thing is my stupid big head so I've ordered the other strap as that seems to be a bit more comfortable.

Third party stuff from Amazon/Ali express is a good place for new straps - I just upgraded to the quest 3 and that was the first thing I did, especially useful to get one with an additional battery to extend play time but also add a bit of weight to the back of the strap which balances the weight in your neck a bit better.

My next purchase will be a midi keyboard (mine is too old) to use with Piano Vision because that stuff is just black magic.

I collect and paint Warhammer miniatures. Started it as a bit of fun with workmates and now I've got expensive brushes, two different types of palettes, and I'm trying to get good enough to enter painting competitions. I don't even play the tabletop game, just spend my weekends hunched over my second table. This is my latest, took me hours and I've got 19 more identical to this to go.

Yeah this is a hobby that can escalate quickly. I picked up a brush 2 years ago now after a 20+ year gap - although I enjoy the game element it’s the painting I love the most. Good Therapy for the most part, but definitely one for the dull pile.

Links because I can’t figure out how to embed pics from instagram.

Like the old man that I am.

  6. Part of me wonders if they tried to line up Alexander last year but couldn’t make it work and had to switch lanes - Mae Muller was announced quite late iirc and her staging on the night was very muted compared to many others. Just feels in hindsight to be a very odd overall presentation choice given it’s the same team who produced Ryder the year previous.

Probably nothing in it, either way it’s great to see another strong choice for next year.

Anyone tried Game Pass on the Meta VR headsets? I'm hoping to get one for Christmas. Wondered how reliable it was. I play quite a bit on my laptop or my Steam Deck and never had any issues so assume it'll be pretty decent. I think from what I've read I can't use my PS5 control so may need to get something else.

I haven’t put a lot of time in yet but the game pass works well on the quest, being able to control the size of the screen and have it working while having pass through on really makes it a comfortable play (xl screen is a bit disconcerting at first)There’s a slight input lag; nothing terrible and consistent with other game streaming services - stream quality was consistent and I managed a decent game or 2 of Fortnite without feeling like I was a step behind.

Aside from Friends, the main thing I remember Matthew Perry for was his role as Benny in Fallout: New Vegas. Apparently he was such a big fan of Fallout 3 that he messed his hands up playing it so much, and there was most of a season of Friends where Chandler couldn't do anything with his hands. Very sad.

True, up to the part about Friends which had been finished 4 years prior to Fallout 3’s release.

  9. I play AoS weekly since getting back into the hobby 2 years ago (after a 20+ year gap). As someone who last played in the very early 2000s the quality of the models was staggering to me and that’s what really drew me back in. Now, 2 years and a small fortune later I’m starting my 5th army after Christmas and I’ve more models than I’ll ever get painted. I’ve dabbled into 40K but not seriously, am currently painting a dark angels army right now though so probably in the new year I’ll give it a proper go.

  10. It makes sense, they’ve just made it a bit complicated. My work does it similarly but just adds the ph days onto their annual leave. So if someone is on 80% hours they’ll get 80% of the public holidays and 80% of the annual leave entitlement (in hours). They have to book public holidays manually - and on the odd occasion that all public holidays in a given year fall on working days they’ll eat into their annual leave a little bit.

My sister messaged me this morning to tell me her eldest son is now into DnD, and Warhammer40k.

I don't think she expected me to offer to share my Warhammerplus account with him.

    I'm so cool.

Until he changes the address details and claims your next free figure…..

This came out today and could end up being my GOTY, it's the biggest loveletter to Jet Set Radio and legit feels like a true sequel.

I’ve waited 20 years for a sequel, and today I am fulfilled. Only dipped in for an hour today but this weekend is going to be a write off.

We’re organising a game of Twilight Imperium next month. Average game time 8 hours, what a terrifying thought.

And we finished just short of 8 hours which given 5 of us hadn’t played before that’s a decent runtime. Really enjoyed it, time flew in and I look forward to next time.

  14. Just one thing to consider, it’s great for game pass but with no drive you are beholden to the Xbox store if you want to buy anything outwith game pass. Places like CD Keys are good for some titles but you may miss out on the odd bargain at retail stores.
