  1. Prichard one is doing the same.

Its essentially the live shows they’ve done (the ones they originally said they’d never record) and Conrad’s notes from the episodes. I believe there is also a “you pick the topic for the next “Special” show”.

I think that was the bulk of it outside a couple t-shirts.

I find Conrad more tolerable on the Bischoff one which is why I prefer it. He's overly familiar with Pritchard and incorrect if he thinks what people want to hear is him calling Pritchard out all the time. He does get into it with Bischoff but a lot more of it is him just being the host rather than thinking he's 50% of the star.

Overall though, I don't find we learn a right lot that we didn't already know. And those tidbits aren't worth listing to Conrad for.

Interesting point Rick, it's funny because I quite like Conrad being a bit more of a personality. Does he sometimes step over a bit too much? Absolutely. However I think he and Prichard have a good chemistry that allows him to do it. I genuinely listen to Something to Wrestle partly now because of his approach. I get a kick out of Prichard sometimes giving a bullshit answer and Conrad rolling it back and making him give us something better.

Apart from the whole "DX invaded during the daytime" rant he had on Bischoff, I think he just sort of let's Bishoff get away with a lot of stuff without challenging him I'd imagine just because of who he is. It might be because it's still relatively early days.

  3. Couldn't have said it much better. The Prichard one is head and shoulders above the other Conrad pods, the Holly episode was brilliantly done as Prichard was on point and the source material was very good in the form of Holly's book. Their little in-jokes/recurring phrases are pretty fun too which give it a bit more colour and personality.

I'll be honest, I dropped off Schiavone's after 8-9 episodes, I couldn't get into it. Listened to all of Bischoff's and it's nowhere near as good. That may have been down to expectancy though, the thought of a "Bischoff bears all" podcast sounded amazing until you realise he offered little in the way of creative, doesn't remember much or just sits on the defensive. I will still listen to it as there are still a couple of nice little "huh, I didn't know that" moments. However, it is a million miles away from the Prichard one.

  4. Finished Something To Wrestle's episode of Brutus, it was pretty good but shows that Conrad can't half promote a book if he wants to. Prichard is still the best co-host/expert in my opinion and Conrad does what he does very well. The material was decent enough, all in all a very passable episode. The next one is on Hassan, should be interesting and hope to get through it today.

Got 83 Weeks on now, BATB '94. Normally the format of the show is to discuss the previous show before going into it. That never happened on this episode though. I wonder if there was too much backlash maybe? Not sure, just odd that the previous episode hasn't even been addressed so far. Maybe it will at the end. Bischoff isn't anywhere near as good as Prichard IMO.

Forgot to say, I finished SCG's episode on re-writing WCW in July '98, a very good episode, though I do agree instead of a realistic approach, it seemed a little more fantasy booking as I feel Hogan wouldn't have left. The lads discussed still needing some star power but Hogan was already cut at the beginning of the episode, just seemed to push beyond the realm of realism to me. Other than that, it seemed well thought out and planned. The booking itself was realistic in terms of the slow build to lay the foundation, really enjoyed it.

  5. Tried out Sonic Mania on PS4 last night just to try and mix it up outside of FM2018. I imagine that, upon reflection, simply shouting “jump man you little blue bastard” repeatedly after several tins maybe isn’t as entertaining to stream viewers as hoped.

  6. One of the things which is quite tricky to get a good balance of is between explaining your inner monologue to let people know your thoughts for certain actions and rambling on and boring people. Getting there slowly but surely.
The hat was down to a winger we had called Lee Holmes who had some great technical abilities and was spraying the ball around like a Spanish play maker. I changed his name to Leon Holmez, donned the sombrero and wear it pretty much every stream now.
It's really good fun, I started it in the middle of January and not really looked back, can't imagine not doing it now. As weird as it sounds FM is a great game choice for it too as it encourages communication.

I’ve really been enjoying your stream. Keep up the excellent work 👍

That’s really kind of you mate, thanks very much. At the end of the day, it’s just playing FM and having a bit of chat. What more could you want!

Thanks a lot for the support, it’s massively appreciated.

  8. With the talk of Football Manager, I would take the opportunity to discuss my current save and my Twitch channel that I am playing it on (I posted this in the Classified as I believe you are allowed plugs in there too but unsure).

Currently in season 3 with Exeter City, we signed Diego Forlan and Lucio in the first season and won League 2, first season in League 1 and we made the playoffs getting knocked out in the semi-final by bloody Wigan. This season we are back in playoff position with a little bit of inconsistency but a great squad and little money so really had to make it stretch.
The owner is an absolute snake in the grass, a running theme throughout. He dictates that we need to rely on youth, all the while cashing out on our best prospects (this is after he said he is going to be a part time chairman and take a step back, so he basically sits on a beach and waits for a good offer to come in then accepts it over my head!).

The channel itself is predominantly a Football Manager 2018, I’ve also expanded into other games including PES2018/Horizon etc. (PS4) and was made to Twitch Affiliate a couple of weeks ago. It's been planned for months with very regular content (around 5-7 3+ hour streams a week) and is getting a regular following each day.

    Schedule is normally as follows:

    Mon - 18:30 - 21:30/22:00
    Tues - 19:00 - 21:30/22:00
    Thurs - 18:30-21:30/22:00
    Fri - 18:30 til late
    Sat,Sun - as time allows

If anyone would be interested in hopping in to say hello, it would be cracking to hear from you.

  9. Really didn't enjoy the opening match. Much of the same opinion regarding the Bollywood Boys, they might be better suited as a flamboyant heel team perhaps.

Gulak buggering up his mic time was a shame, Tony Neass was standout I thought overall.

Jack Gallagher was quality, the shining star of the show, massively entertaining and something a bit different.

As the show was starting I suspected a title change just because it was the first show and it would give the live "anything can happen" feel. I don't think it was the right man to win it though. Rich Swann is a pretty charismatic guy but the two times I've heard him talk (205 Live and RAW earlier in the week), I thought he was pretty horrid. Shame.

What happens now with TJP, before the Kendrick match he said "if you lose in out the picture too" or something along those lines.

  10. I was thinking about the wrestling industry this morning and how it is widely accepted that is goes through peak and trough cycles but kept coming to the conclusion that it's not right.

There were 2 peaks which I know of in my lifetime, the golden era of the late 80,s to early 90's and the attitude era or the late 90's to early 00's. There were also the troughs of the mid 90's and post attitude era.

Since then there has only really been a constant or even decline if viewer ratings are anything to go by (though with other viewing formats and patterns it might not be a accurate representation).

It seems that people have been saying for years that "it's the way the business is... its cycles... peaks and troughs" etc. The peaks however can be explained with a massively superhero like figure like Hogan directing the first boom period and the alternative product that turned people's heads with the massively charismatic Austin as the figurehead, the edginess made it cool and relevant.

I suppose my point is the boom periods appear more result of circumstance than because of some cycle. It makes me fearful that there might not ever be another major boom period unless the stars align right again and the right guy is in the right place at the right time.

  11. I would have loved to have seen a BritWres televised show that took on a "Hearn-style" production.

Much like the darts etc. with a season and league table and walk on girls and drunken crowds.

Barry Hearn has stated a few times that a lot of influences on his productions have come from pro-wrestling with theme music and nicknames and even fish-o-mania being named after WrestleMania. I am sure I read somewhere too that he wanted players to exaggerate themselves a bit too for the crowds.

Would have been interesting to see a Hearn type pro wrestling event.

  12. Do you think anyone would be willing to write a pinned thread on which promotions are on which channels and those more knowledgeable perhaps a somewhat regularly updated landscape/headlines?

Every time I watch MMA I love it. However, the opportunities seem somewhat few and far between. A one stop shop would be amazing! Though I concede it is asking a whole lot from people.

  13. That might well be why we see him in different lights. I thought he looked like he was enjoying himself and it looked like he had a little bit of freedom in it.

Though I do agree with the rest of your post though pal Reigns is looking a little fresher with this "not a bad guy, not a good guy" stuff, the last thing he wants right now is to appear repetitive.

100% on Roman Empire vs. Wyatts with AJ the heroic victim of Bullet Club giving him that victim/underdog face push perhaps. Zayn is an absolute star, new Daniel Bryan for me... I said it.

  14.

He looked cool as fuck on the way to the ring

Was that before or after he fumbled taking off his suit? I like Cesaro but this stripper bodyguard outfit is rotten.
The spotlight entrance was good in fairness, bit of a fluff up in taking the suit off, will let him off with it though. It's different too.

Happy to concede that the Velcro suit thing is rather odd but it certainly isn't strange enough to make me hate him.

  15. Couldn't disagree more with Daz sadly. I thought both he and Owens were very entertaining in their match. He looked cool as fuck on the way to the ring and his running uppercuts were quite fun. Bit tired of the big swing but it's forgiven.

Cesaro is definitely a positive in the show overall for me.

  16. I felt deflated after WM and was in turmoil as I still enjoy nxt and a lot of stuff on the network but I was seriously considering cancelling. I was sick of the disappointment.

RAW was ok, certainly nothing offensive and a couple of things to hope come good and allow for a bit of imagination but it really is that the point of waiting to be disappointed again. I have just accepted it is a case of "more fool me" now though.

I thought Reigns was cracking. Owens was good too. Enzo was great too, don't know where carmella was though. I really didn't enjoy the women's segment at all though.

  17. Does anyone have any indication as to what the 'unspeakable' news story is?

I have only just read this in the past hour and of course reddit is going a bit mental over it but I have absolutely no clue what it's all about. Apologies for it being so vague (and indeed if it has already been brought up and removed due to lack of content), this is literally all the info I have.

EDIT: Just a bit of background on the Twitter account, apparently this lot were the first to report on the Dixie Carter e-mail CC'ing story.
