  1. Finished Resident Evil village and loved it. There must be some seriously fucked up people at Capcom...

    Spoiler

That fucking Baby mutant monster... Jesus christ!

Just started my 2nd play though!

Anybody here old enough to remember watching "Ghostwatch" live on the BBC TV in 1992? Place full of young yins now? I must admit to nearly sharting myself but there you go. Looks really, really shit now. Still the odd bit gets me though (like where that strange voice starts appearing, or where you spot a random "Pipes the Ghost" sighting). Probably couldn't do it now. I'd love to see someone try it.

I slept with the light on that night, my mum had so much trouble getting me to go to sleep. I rewatched it years ago and it didn't have the impact it did when I was a kid. No way would they be able to do something like that now.

Obviously MOTD only show brief highlights, but in those they showed Maguire a huge liability. Culpable for so many problems, there were a couple worse than the one quoted. The bearhug on Iheanacho was a bit embarrassing too.

Ronaldo's attempt to press was a laugh. Obviously he's not going to press, he's Ronaldo he do what he wants, but United need to compensate for that. They just sat back and let Leicester have the ball so often. Ole has ridden his luck, he is simply not good enough to be in charge of one of the biggest teams in the world. Way out of his depth.

Think it was clear that Maguire was rushed back from injury.. There was no way he should have been out there. Everything they do is predictable, slow and mediocre.

    Shocking

Conversely, having grown up with the theatrical cut, I find the complete scene to look and feel rather odd, partially because of mental muscle memory, but also because the re inserted shots look like something out of a low budget horror and just feel tonally, quite strange.

I watched a lot of 80s action films when I was young off the tv. I would record them and watch when my parants weren't around. That shed scene from Commando I had no idea existed until I bought the bluray decades later!

  5. I once made a stock of veal bones and beef bones, simmered it all night. Then strained it. And reduced it for 2 hours till it was syrupy.

    Best gravy ever..

  6. I went to Rock Am Ring in 2008, massive chilled atmosphere, we ended up in the woods surrounding the track, we got offered beer and to join a group of Germans. Everyone was really nice, they were happy to help us out.

  7. Ainsley Harriot getting a mention reminds me of a story.

I met him in Birmingham at a Good Food Live show in the early 2000's, he signed a cook book for me and I asked him if, he saw him again later to act like he knew me so I could impress my catering classmates later. We walked past him about 2 hours later and I shouted out Hey Ainsley, he replayed with my name and shouted it was good to see me and we should catch up soon when he wasn't as busy... I was the talk of the bus on the way home that afternoon.

  8. Woke up this morning and felt like shite aches pains an a cough... Rang work which didn't go down well and went for a test. Just waiting for the results, pissed off as feel like I'm letting work down and the worst part is I've hardly been anywhere the past week apart from work and a few supermarkets! Saw so many people without masks in asda on Tuesday night. Cunts!

Notice periods are to protect both sides. Companies don’t want employers just leaving and three months gives them longer to find a replacement, it does nothing to help the employee if they’re leaving or the new employer.  (Obviously redundancy is different.)

Agree with others about seeing about an early release, or getting signed off for longer. It may be worth letting your new employer know just in case they say anything in the reference, it’ll mean that you’re framing it and giving context.

They can’t make you do all those things so if you do nothing and see it out, do what you’re contractually obliged to do. Be polite when you say no and give reasons (family commitments etc that mean you can’t travel). At the end of the day, you only owe them what you are meant to do and beyond that it’s hard for them to argue otherwise. If you have proof of what they’re asking/what you said to them etc then save it just in case you need it later on.

Good luck and well done on your new job. You’ll be on to better things before you know it!

I had a issue with mine, when I transfeted across to another area, my contract stated 1 month but was told I would have to come back after it had ended to "help the new head chef for a week" I refused.
