  1. I went to bed after the first hour, thinking that with the Cody and Rock promo to start and the Punk segment that there wasn't going to be anything interesting enough left to stay up for. I was wrong. What an ending.

Cody v Rock 100% feels like the main event and it's a bit of a shame we're not getting it now because it's a really hot feud. When are we thinking it happens? Summerslam? Saudi show? Mania 41?

We could be getting a return back to 1999 with the overbooking this year in the two title matches, what with the Bloodline stuff in Cody/Roman and then the prospect of Punk and Priest getting involved in Rollins/McIntyre, but it makes two rematches a lot more exciting than they were before.

  2. "And right now I am a 30 year old man, I've got two pugs, three cats, a kid, a missus, a mortgage to pay, and more importantly a point to prove." Ospreay is going to be a star.

I enjoyed the show, though Joe/Swerve doesn’t really feel like a world title feud when  you've got Edge and Okada knocking about with other titles and Ospreay and Mone getting so much attention too.

  3. Anyone that still uses the ‘’you know it’s fake right?’’ comeback these days is too much of a moron to even waste my energy on.

    Like you don’t fucking say.

  4. I enjoyed The Rock promo, assume this heel run is going to be very short lived so will appreciate it while we've got it as I didn't expect to ever see it again.

Don't think they're going to bother trying to explain what happened with Rock and Cody in the first place though, unless it turns out that it was a 'plan' all along when Rock turns on Roman.

  5. I believe my first show would've been All-Star Wrestling in Grimsby which would've been either late 2001 or early 2002 looking at when Davey Boy Smith passed away, as he was advertised for the show but didn't turn up to due to travel restrictions after 9/11 I want to say? Could be wrong about the reason, but I do know me and my brother made big fuck off cardboard signs for him, and I don't think either of us ever made a sign again after the disappointment.

Saw a few more All-Star shows with Tatanka and Jake Roberts standing out along with UK Undertaker and a fake Scotty 2 Hotty, and also some FWA shows in the area that the likes of Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson were on too, which is funny looking back.

Tour of Defiance Tour in 2004 in Birmingham was my first WWE show with Chris Benoit v Triple H and Shawn Michaels v Ric Flair on the card and I've since been to countless RAW and Smackdown tapings, NXT Takeover London, NXT UK Takeover Blackpool, Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, Wrestlemania 35 in New York along with the NJPW/ROH Supershow at MSG, Clash at The Castle and Wrestlemania 39 in LA. MITB at the 02 and All In at Wembley last year were my most recent shows.

    It's been a hell of a ride.

I'm sure if The Rock couldn't go 20-30 mins they would keep it short, have Rock/Roman trade a few big moves and have it done inside 10 minutes, think Brock/Goldberg a few years back, less is more etc.

Also when did the whole Pivot thing become a terminology in wrestling? Is this a new trendy word now?

I like to think people are just really nostalgic for Ross from Friends.

Just seen someone suggest that they should have Austin in Cody's corner and Rock in Roman's, in the ultimate 'YES 1999 WAS BETTER BUT THESE ARE THE CLOSEST WEVE GOT NOW' type match.

    I'm in.

They could even do Rock and Roman v Cody and Austin for the tag match on night 1 instead 👀

Tag match to decide which of Rock or Austin becomes special referee on night 2. Rock and Roman win just to stack the odds against Cody that bit more, but Rock does a Darth Vader as referee and turns on the Bloodline resulting in Cody winning the title and Rock v Roman next year.  Absolute cinema.

Anyway, they did make a mess of things and clearly picked the wrong time for Roman v Rock as much as I want that match, but as long as they still do it, this way of getting there is likely to be infinitely more interesting than what we were going to get this year.

  8. I don't really mind what they do, as long as it's not a triple threat. As has been said above, it was fine at Mania 20 and 30 because the singles matches were meh, very meh in the case of Orton v Batista but this is different. People want to see Reigns v Rock and Reigns v Cody.

  9. I was on board with the Reigns v Rock and Rollins v Cody course correction after that segment on Monday personally. Hell, they might even do the Reigns v Cody match at Elimination Chamber.

Mania lost some of its luster with the Punk injury and it needed something. WWE's problem isn't not pulling the trigger on Cody this year,  it was not doing it last year.

Royal Cod on Wilbraham Road does have a table in it and for 50p extra, you can have a plate and cutlery and sit there. No cards though, cash only.

Atlantic on Barlow Moor Road has booths but no plates or cutlery. Again, cash only, no cards.

Did not expect to come into the RAW thread to see my local chippies being discussed, that is for sure. Small wold.

Although I'm disappointed I can no longer get a tenner out and spend half of it at Royal Cod and the other half at Quality Save anymore.

  11. First RAW I’ve watched in full without skipping anything in months and that was actually great stuff.

Shame Punk is injured but can’t wait for him and Drew, I’ve liked all of these Punk face offs but I reckon the two with Drew have been the best personally. Probably because heel Drew is such a glorious bastard.

I assume they are still going with Reigns v Cody and this is just killing time but they didn’t do a half bad job of selling the alternative if the injury has resulted in a bit of course correcting.

  12. It was solid, set things in motion for what is to come. The Rumble matches did feel very long though, I don't think the fact the crowd was so dead helped that.

Thought the women's Rumble was the more interesting of the two with Jordynne Grace, Naomi, Jade Cargill and things like that and had the right winne in Bayley.

The men's one didn't have the same energy until the final two of Punk and Cody, and that was very fun to see despite Punk being blown up. I  did think Punk was going to win but got no problem with Cody doing it and thought him picking Reigns  straight away was a nice change.

I am wondering if we're going to get Punk/Drew and Rollins/Gunther at Mania instead of the expected to be fair. If Rollins knee isn't 100% they might be able to tell a better story with him being mauled by a big guy.

  13. A definite game changer and is 100% where TV has been heading for some time. If the Premier League can get with the times and sell their streaming rights next time around I'll have sod all reason to buy any TV subscription

I absolutely live in hope that this is the way we get rid of the 3 hours.

  14. Just caught up on Hard To Kill. Other than the mess with Fandango, Kozlov, PCO etc I really enjoyed it and will definitely tune in to Impact this week to see how things go. The X-Division match was grear and Alexander/Hammerstone were really good, the main event was solid and the Ultimate X and Tag Title match were fun spotfests.

Interested to see what happens with Nic Nemeth, Definitely more so than Dana Brooke! I think it's a great move for both parties as he'd have just gotten lost in the shuffle in AEW and he could easily be the face of this new TNA.

  15. If they’re gonna have Roman lose without getting pinned, If honestly have Cody lose again to Orton and have Reigns win it back before next year. He should be pinning Roman.

  16. I’d still be surprised if they did it at Elimination Chamber, I can see them delaying the Cody coronation until Mania 41 as boring as another year of Reigns sounds.

I’m definitely pleased it looks like it’s happening though. There’s not enough dream matches left not to be.
