After playing a couple of online quizzes over the last couple of days I feel that the best solution is as follows.
I will ask the questions via a video conferencing program and you have the option to be either on video, audio only or text only in the conference call.
The quiz format will be a buzzer quiz. To buzz to answer you would just need to enter any text in the chat box in the conference call. If you are video or audio enabled I will ask you for your answer, if you are text only I will ask you to type your answer. Typists will only have 10 seconds to answer, unless it is a long answer and my discretion will be followed.
You will get two points for a correct answer and you will lose a point for an incorrect interruption.
Obviously it would be encouraged to have the video/audio enabled for better craic, but I understand that some people require to retain their anonymity hence this solution.
I will be looking at starting this from next wednesday, so sign-ups are available until this Friday. If we get a couple more signed up I will make a draw to split the players into two semi finals and I will PM all players with the invite to the conference call.
-
So not quite the uptake I was expecting. I suspect the audio/video might be putting people off participating, so I am looking at alternative options.
I am doing online quizzes with my friends tonight and tomorrow using different methods and if I can find a way of anonymity for the wider public, but identifiable for the people who are playing I will do that so hopefully @HarmonicGenerator will compete.

ESPN8 was fictitious when in Dodgeball in 2004. In 2017 ESPN embraced it on a slow sports day and showed all kinds of weird sports like Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Challenge and the like. I would expect it to make a permanent slot in the schedules for the next couple of months.

Yes, your eyes are not deciving you. The ressurection of Brain of the UKFF is amongst us, and it has taken a worldwide pandemic to instigate it to cure boredom whilst there is no sport on.
Instead of using Sporcle for a range of topics, we will be doing things a little differently this time round and effectively nicking the format of Brain of Britain off Radio 4 where there will be five rounds of questions. Each person will be asked up to 5 questions in a round, but if they get one wrong the question will be offered to the other constestants and then move on to the next contestant.
The plan is to use Skype or an alternative chat client, record it and post it on YouTube for the viewing pleasure of the UKFF Kingdom. If you are camera shy, don't worry I will hide you and put a funny image up relating to your username to represent you
If you are interested in taking part please post a message below and what days are best for you to take part and if your happy to have your mug on screen.
Will @Shy Dad retain his crown? Have a go and you can be crowned the Brain of the UKFF!

They'll suspend the season. The pressure will be too great not to. It won't do much, honestly. This thing will spread through pubs, bars, restaurants, public transport, etc. But they'll need to be seen to do something and if it takes pressure off public services, then it's probably right. Football isn't important in the grand scheme of things.
The spreading of the virus is not the issue for football or any other large events. It is the resources that are used up. Any event of over 15,000 people has to have a police and ambulance presence, which in the grand scheme of things is a waste.

I used a free £5 bet with Paddy Power for £2.50 e/w on Barcadys and used half of the winnings on a double of Simply the Betts and Concertista which has put me massively in profit for the week.
I had a shocker on day 1 and 2 so it is quite welcome to boost my betting pot for the final day.

Egghead quizzer Dave Rainford has sadly died. I have quizzed and drank with him on a few occasions and he was one of kind. The second time I met him he welcomed me like we were long lost mates and I was shocked he remembered my name.
He has been in poorly health for a while but this is still a shock. I shall be having a pint tonight in honour of him. RIP Dave.

It is only 100% of your weekly wage if it is excessive and dangerous speeding.
@Silky Kisser unfortunately I think you will be getting a £100 fine and three points. I believe the general rule of thumb is you get offered a driving course if your speeding offence is the speed limit plus 20% or less. In your case it is 37%. My wife got caught doing 30 mph in a 20mph zone last year and had a fixed penalty and three points, whereas last week I was caught speeding doing 59 mph in a 50mph zone and I have been offered a speed awareness course.

I had an unsuccessful audition for Mastermind last year and the key to get on the show is to pick something that hasn't been done before.
In the application form it asked to pick three specialist subjects and I chose Archer (The spy one), Edvard Grieg and the Mosconi Cup.
Other than Archer I don't know a lot about the other subjects, but I think I was selected for audition because it was such a diverse range of subjects, but they were topics that I could easily cram study.
My mate Michael made the final in 2014 and he was desperate to do Wrestlemania so he could get a free trip to either Full Sail or Greenwich but it was considered too 'low brow' so he did the Salem Witch Trials instead and got a free trip to Boston, whilst the winner chose Philip Larkin and got a trip to Hull. Who was the real winner? (No offence @tiger_rick)

Probably told the story earlier in the thread, but my family had lived in Jersey for years, and I'd never found a decent chippy. I'm sure the fish was great, but the chips were always rubbish.
It is probably because of the shite new potatoes that are grown there.

Hello folks, I have calculated all the points but I have not had chance to add them to all of your picks, so I will unveil the winners tommorow. In the meantime I can reveal that the jackpot numbers for the three categories.
For the overall winner is 1, 16, 17, 21 and 30. No one has this combination of numbers.
The jackpot numbers for the Women's Rumble is 1, 2, 17, 19 and 30. No one has this selection.
The jackpot numbers for the Men's Rumble is 1, 16, 21, 25 and 26. Again no one has this selection.
Here is the breakdown of the points:
The Top 5
Charlotte - 50 points
Bayzler - 35
Phoenix - 25
Natalya - 15
Naomi - 10
McIntyre - 50
Reigns - 35
Edge -25

Charlotte - 16
Phoenix - 14

Orton 12
Eliminations (Three points per elimination)
Belair 24
Bayzler 24
Bliss 12
Charlotte 12
Lana 3

Rose 3
Deville 3
Phoenix 3
Green 3
Lesnar 39
McIntyre 18
Edge 9
Rollins 9
Reigns 6
Corbin 3
Orton 3
Bushwhacker Luke Award
Thanks to Mr Lesnar this caused carnage this year which is bound to set a record number of negative scores. In the Men's Rumble alone there was 10 recipients for this award which went to Rowan, Roode, JoMo, Big E, Cesaro, Benjamin, Nakamura, MVP, Miz and Riddle (sounds like a shit solicitors firm)
There was also four awards in the xx section for Liv Morgan, Tamina, Chelsea Green and Sarah Logan.
Skinning the Cat
Only the one award this year for this category which is for Charlotte eliminating Bayzler for 5 points.
The Tiffany Award
I had a feeling this was going to be the controversial one of the night. Brock Lesnar managed to be on his todd for an unprecedented ten times which bagged him 60 points, but that is only if you picked number 1 as stipulated on Sunday nighr or not edited your numbers if you did post your entry in early (I am looking at you @TildeGuy~!)
Drew Mcintyre and Bianca Belair also picked up 6 points for this award.
Idiot Award
There were no idiots in the Men's Rumble, but there were three women who ascended to the top which meant a 20 point deduction for Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair which made a huge dent to her final score. Also I decided to give this award to Santina for eliminating themself.
Surprise Guest Award
Ten points went to Edge, MVP, Mighty Molly, Kelly X2 and Beth Phoenix.
Double Bubble
The internet darlings Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns were the only two to pull double duty for 5 points each.
House on Fire
McIntyre, Orton and Reigns all got one elimination within 60 seconds for 4 points each. In the other Rumble Bayzler managed to get rid of four within a minute for 16 points. There was also four points for Chelsea Green and Liv Morgan.
Hat-trick Heaven
Six points went to Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose for being in the ring at the same time. Kairi Sane gained three points. In the Men's Rumble Karl Anderson got 12 points for being in the ring at the same time as Styles and Gallows (who got 6 points each) which will probably be the most points Anderson will ever get in this stupid game. There was also six points for Corbin, Ziggler, Joe, Owens, Big E and Kingston and three points for Roode and Rollins.
And finally there was a 10 point bonus for Drew McIntyre for picking up the Brock Lesnar Bounty.
I will aim to reveal the winners by 8pm on Wednesday evening.
-
Selections are now locked in, and now to address the Brock-sized elephant in the room. Whoever has picked number one from the 7th January onwards will not be elligible for the Tiffany Award, but can score in the other categories. Everyone else who picked number 1 from the start up to @Jon-Carr_92's post will be elligible for the Tiffany Award.
Also in the order in fairness there is a new award. The Brock Lesnar Bounty Hunt - If your wrestler eliminates Brock Lesnar you will get a bonus 10 points.
I hope everyone agrees this is fair.
Please don't expect any results tomorrow. I am starting a new job in the morning and I will not get chance to watch the show until tomorrow night. I will ensure that scores will be posted on Tuesday evening.
Good luck one and all.
