  1. Whilst the North was suffering the government offered 60% furlough. As soon as the South was announced they would be entering lockdown the 80% scheme is extended. Fuck this shower of shit government.

The next election should be a cakewalk for Labour, but pissing off 2/3rds of the membership by  suspending Corbyn is a massive own goal.

I'd like them to try and get the shows closer to the US airing, by the time it's on late Friday night, I've seen majority of results on socials, which I get I could avoid til I watch it.

I could Stream it which still wouldn't help AEW ratings etc.

Is it AEW or ITV that cause the delay? Even thurs night would be better.

It is to do with broadcasting regulations with the length of commercial time on terrestrial TV. With the amount of ads on American television it would be close to doubling the permitted amount.

Non-terrestrial TV can get away with more commercial time hence why Sky and BT can show WWE programming live. Sometimes they have to show either the Raw or Smackers bumper for a couple of minutes to ensure they don't breach the regulations.

The only logical way they could get round it would to do exclusive UK content to air whilst the US is at commercial however I am guessing that will never happen as ITV are lazy cheap bastards.

It's this. Especially combined with the fact that "Northern" (read traditionally Labour supporting) areas tend to be the ones that end up facing the harsher restrictions while the Tories try to avoid upsetting the applecart in their own constituencies and heartlands. I suggested this to a friend on Facebook when Blackburn (Labour MP) was placed under stricter conditions than Darwen (Tory seat) even though they share a unitary authority and council, only to be promptly told by somebody to take my tinfoil hat off.

There is definitely party politics in play. If you take the "Tees Valley" area it is made up of 5 unitary boroughs of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland. When the North East went into lockdown the Tees Valley area was not included in the local lockdown restrictions despite having a similar infection rate to the rest of the North East. The Tees Valley Mayor is the Conservative Ben Houchen (nephew of Keith Houchen - sorry @Keith Houchen).

A couple of weeks later the Tees Valley area was seeing a surge in cases which saw Hartlepool and Middlesbrough go into the same measures as the rest of the North East. Stockton, Darlington and Redcar & Cleveland avoided the same measures. The only common denominator is Hartlepool and Middlesbrough predominantly have a Labour MP and the other three areas predominantly have a Tory MP.  Here is an excerpt from the Teesside Evening Gazette

All of the Tees Valley is now under Tier 2 lockdown rules after a massive spike in cases in Stockton and Redcar.

I don't believe that the latest measures are going to be anywhere near enough to stop the second wave. For me the only way it can be stopped is if we go into a 6 week complete lockdown with the exception of essential workers and close all borders. After six weeks reopen the borders and trace every single person that comes into the country by temperature and swab testing. Yes it will have an economic impact but we have no semblance of controlling the virus at the moment. The current tracing is system is beyond a joke and as long as the cronyism continues shit is going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better.

  4. I have been booking in tests for members of staff at work and it seems to be completely random when they add slots to the system.

I tend to look every couple of hours and there are different testing sites listed.

  5. It all depends on the sugar content in the potato. The more sugar in the potato the more colour you get. White potatoes are shit for chips. The best are King Edward's and Russet.

  6. I am also in the public sector and I have to commend my organisation. Anyone who has been shielding, contracted Covid-19 or have been recommended to quarantine have been receiving full pay with no impact to their sickness record. We have only started asking people to come back to work after they have received a risk assessment and if necessary if they were to return they could work from a lower risk site.

In my region alone we have had over 60 staff who have been self isolating since 16th March and the majority are wanting to come back to work. Whilst they were off we had a massive gap to fill for the lost hours, but the organisation offered double time to healthy staff to cover the hours of the 'shielders' and they also received a wage allowance on top.

We currently have a handful of people stuck in Spain at the moment who will need to quarantine when they arrive back. They will still receive full pay when they return, but anyone who travels to Spain from now on they will be asked to either put in further annual leave or to take it unpaid.

If anyone can work from home they must do for the foreseeable future unless personal circumstances makes it necessary for someone to work in the office.

Everything my work has put in place has been fair and sometimes a bit too generous, but I couldn't have asked for a better place to work during the pandemic.

  8. I won a quiz a couple of months ago and got a six month subscription to BeerBods and there was some nice beers in it, but this has to be the best lager that has ever passed my lips

    Canopy

I can't put it into words how good this is. It is that good I have ordered a mixed case from Canopy to try out their other offerings. Other highlights from my BeerBods box was Ordinary Bitter by Anspach and Hobday and Wiper and True IPA by Kaleidoscope. Adnams Cucumelon Sour went straight into the bin after one sip. Rancid.

  9. Unfortunately I busted out in 111th place for a nice payday of $1,800 and change. At one point I was 3rd in chips but two bad beats in row saw me go from the penthouse to the outhouse. If those two hands held I would be chip leader by a mile. That's poker.

It isn't life changing money but I will be virtually getting paid double bubble this month so I can't complain too much.

This is what I am playing for tonight. There are currently 642 left with the top 548 getting paid. I am currently sitting in 112th place with a stack of 535,000 which is about 200,000 more than average stack. The prizepool is less than I predicted with a combined pool of $1.6M.

    Let's do this.
