  1.

According to Meltzer she assaulted Reby in front of Reby's baby. Chucked the child's bag out of the locker room as well. Nutcase.

What is the story behind this? Why did Kong attack Reby Sky?

Wrestlezone gives some background here. Reby seems like the one in the right throughout, as Kong defends Sid for no-showing an event, talks smack about Reby while being friendly in her direct comms with her, and gets upset that a female talent working the same show as her wants to use the same dressing room.

  2. Mate, you've gotta have an angle. That angle can't be "give me a second chance" because how will you draw the rubes who've never heard of you?

What would I see if I went to an LPW show? We can deduce you're not going for a PCW/Southside-esque super-show/imports business model. So, is it family-friendly fun like WWE? Is it intricate chess battles like NJPW? Is it crazy athleticism like Dragon Gate? Hardcore 18+ brawls like CZW? Surrealist fourth-wall comedy like CHIKARA? What's your company's identity?

I am not even replying anymore till next week when I post up the next match with special MMA Guest.

Whats an special MMA Guest doing at a wrestling show?

Whats his purpose of being here?

Probably going to MC, I hear there's a vacancy.

  4. Ah, apologies, wasn't sure whether you wanted to know the association between the two things or the definition of MRA so I went for broke. Douchebag is certainly an apt description for anyone who thinks that there needs to be a men's rights movement; it's usually just outright misogyny.

Getting it back to TNA, I'd love to see Meninist James Storm but the trouble is that the audience would probably identify with him being friendzoned by a hot woman and start cheering (in a scenario eerily similar to James's WWE angle with Trish Stratus).

  5. What's this whole thing about fedoras and MRAs? I've read the odd reference recently, but I don't know what it's about.

MRAs are men's rights activists, arguing for, I dunno, the restoration of masculinity in the wake of a perceived feminist onslaught. The broad visual stereotype of men's rights activists is a fedora-wearing, neckbeard-sporting brony. The stereotype often includes repeated insistences that they are a nice guy, complaints of being friendzoned and the Gamergate-inspired "actually it's about ethics in games journalism" joke (an excuse constantly deployed by MRAs on Twitter to justify hacking, doxxing or harassing female game developers, female journalists, female gamers, or sympathisers of any of them; Gamergate may not have been the start of the meninist movement but it's certainly its most notorious public campaign).

"Not all men" is the traditional start to a defence of a feminist critique of, say, high unreported rape figures and how women are nervous if they are on their own while walking through an empty subway and a man walks towards them (i.e. "not all men are rapists").

  6. Adverts during Raw when its so obvious they will cut to an advert (a heel might slide out the ring for a few seconds in a cowardly way and then its cut to an advert).

For some reason it always annoys me that the face is always in a chinlock when Raw comes back off break. I guess it's probably some sort of shorthand to kill some time before going back live, but the predictability irks me. If WWE still pretended that they were showing legitimate sporting contests, they'd come back from break one time and the match would have ended during the commercials. Not actually a bad idea even for non-kayfabe reasons if the show is running long or if the match is turning into a catastrophe.

  7. A lot of hate on here for him, but I'd rather he returned than guys like RVD. HE is the shits.

RVD feels like the sort of guy who deserves this kind of thread. The guy's not done anything to freshen up his act (looks, character, moves) since 2002. Probably too late now, too. I must have still been into him around the time of the ECW comeback and the WWE title win, but that was nearly a decade ago now.

As for Jericho, I've always quite liked him, as much as his self-aggrandisement rankles. Coming back to job to Fandango was a mistake, and the SAVE_US_222 stuff bombed initially before he was recast as axiomatic villain, but most of the stuff he does works for me. Can't comment on his podcast as I tend to avoid wrestler-hosted podcasts like the plague.

  8. FAN used to be the old Wrestlecrap forum before Wrestlecrap ended their association with it. I think I might have an account there, but I haven't posted since it stopped being Wrestlecrap-associated.

  9. I take it we're not counting guys who wrestle once a year for the hell of it, otherwise Slaughter and Brawler have to be in consideration. Including non-wrestlers who are regulars on-screen, Michael Cole is up there: did he start in 1999? Or earlier than that even?

  10. Yoshi Tatsu has been on the main roster since 2009 but has barely done anything in that entire time. Acknowledging that not everyone can be a top-tier player and that Tatsu is probably happy travelling the world and supporting his family, did the WWE ever have a bigger plan for Tatsu, or was he always earmarked as a bottom-rung jobber?

  11. Yeah I like it just think it's a crazy stat, probably only Shawn had a theme as long. Think he used this when he was GI Bro
he soon went back to the other theme though.

You're forgetting this glorious time in his career.

  12. That Foley/Flair feud was rubbish. Stuff about books that had come out years ago, weird references to insider things nobody would understand, that 2/3 falls match where Foley lost two straight falls then brought out a load of weapons for no reason, the Melina involvement that made no sense... Plus, yeah, there had been so many ultraviolent matches that year that I was numb to them by December (was it the year of December To Dismember?). It was like how I feel watching the CZW Ultraviolent Tournament of Death, but over a longer period of time and with less zero-talent rednecks in T-shirts.

  13. I thought Maria Bello, in the third 'The Mummy' film at least:

had something of the Mickie James about her:

And of course they're probably not remotely similar, but when I was a kid I always thought:

  14. Fin (who does have a day job according to his Twitter, so PS isn't a huge money maker in the sense he can afford a living from it)

I thought PS *was* his day job when he refers to his job. Is it not?

As for the Brodus Clay idea: it would effectively turn him into Ali G. Not sure if that's the gimmick for him, really.
