Recommended Posts

Hold on to your seats as FutureShock returns for more of our unique brand of Hard-Hitting, Heart Stopping Family Entertainment!

Coming to you live from the Stockport Masonic Guildhall you do not want to miss out on all the high flying, gut wrenching action as FutureShock returns with a bang on Sunday 22nd April

With current Number One Contender CJ Banks declining to cash in his Title Shot at this time FutureShock has looked elsewhere for a challenger to reigning Champion Jack Gallagher.

Mikey Whiplash is one of the most gifted wrestlers in Europe today and is the last person Gallagher faced before going ono to win the Gold. It seemed fitting that someone who took The Grappler to his absolute limit should recieve an opportunity to do so again.

Your Main Event for is:

The 8 man-tag is a long standing tradition at FutureShock Wrestling and over the years many of these match ups have been used as a platform for breakout stars to propel themselves into popularity or notoriety. But few of them have ever been as loaded with talent as FutureShock 58s offering.

In one corner we have Zack Diamond a true star and considered by some to be the true and deserving contender to the FutureShock Title; Notorious BAD, the recently formed tag team of Bailey and Daniels who are looking to gain some momentum ahead of their opening match in the Tag Team Tournament and Sparx, a long standing member of the roster and former Tag Team Champion a man who is looking to find himself as a singles star and start turning heads once again.

In the other we have The Blackpool Blonds. A truly formidable tag team whose self absorbed attitudes disguise the threat their tandem offence can present. Mark Massa an impressive monster of a man looking to make an impact and establish himself as a dominant force in FutureShock... and Dave Rayne. Former Champion with an axe to grind and the sheer will and deviousness to do anything in the pursuit of that all important win!

FutureShock 58! - Pro-Wrestling on April 22nd is truly not to be missed!

Quick results:

Health & Saftey b, Wristlock Rovers

Cyanide b. Voodoo

Hannah Blossom (I think, poor memory) b. Becky James

Bhangra Nights b. 2D

CJ Banks b. Josh Bodom

Team Rayne b. Team Gibson

Jack Gallagher retained over Mikey Whiplash after almost taking out a kid on the front row.

Fantastic tribute pre-show (speech by DDL and minutes applause), and post show with Gallagher laying down the belt in front of a Dom photo.

Rayne v Gibson in a cage set for August.

Great show last night. Especially enjoyed the eight man tag and Jack Gallagher vs Mikey Whiplash.

To think back a couple of years to when Jack was wrestling as Toxic - he showed his potential back then but the transformation into Jack The Grappler Gallagher has been amazing. His show of technical skill and dexterity rivals any wrestler on the British circuit today, and is a joy to watch whoever his opponent is.

The start of the show tribute to Dom was incredibly moving with the entire roster paying their respects. It was good to see some old faces present too, especially Clinton Steele - Dom's former Tag Team partner, it brought back some happy memories.

But then the end of the show, when Jack placed his belt by the picture of Dom and both picture and belt were carefully placed into the now empty ring - that was pure poignancy. And as the fans queued up to take photos it was as if they were paying their own respects. A beautiful but heart-rending moment.

He was their first Champ and FutureShock did him proud last night.

Futureshock 58

The show started with a mark of respect for Dom.

Health and Safety def The Wristlock Rovers

This was a real fun opener with a lot of comedy which is something the show really needed to start with I felt. Technically speaking it wasnt a catch as catch can classic but it didnt need to be. The Rovers pretty much dominated the bout which went on to generate a lot of interest in the tag team tournament.

Cyanide def Voodoo

This was a good big man/little man match but it was also a squash as Voodoo didn't get much offence in on Cyanide but thats hardly a bad thing because Cyanide has such a believeable gimmick, hardly anyone should be able to knock him down. Voodoo's selling was great though, he bumped all over the place for Cyanide and made him look like a true monster.

Hannah Blossom def The Artiste

Quite enjoyed this one, Hannah Blossom, like Holly has recently returned from a stint in OVW and it showed, her performance was a lot more crisp and her mannerisms and selling were much improved. The Artiste seems to be improving as well, she has a great character and her offence is getting better. I look forward to seeing more from both as the Round Robin continues.

The Bhangra Knights def 2 Dimension

This was another fine tag team match with the Knights being on top form and 2 Dimension showing a lot of potential. The Knights used the old strategy of cutting off the ring which really worked a treat. There was a lot of great action and great spots with the crowd really getting behind 2D and the Knights earning a lot of heat. I think the Knights will make a fine addition to Futureshock as they continue to make their way through the tournament, while 2D have a bright future.

CJ Banks def Josh Bodom

This was another impressive performance from Josh who goes from strength to strength with every outing. Banks was on top form as always and the two had a really good fast paced match and really clicked. Banks really helped put Bodom on the map and I would't mind seeing Banks give Bodom a rematch in the future.

Team Rayne (Dave Rayne, Mike Massa and The Blackpool Blonds ) def Team Diamond (Zack Diamond, Sparx, Sam Bailey and Sean Daniels)

Futureshock Eight Man Tags have always been fun and this was no exception. Eight Man Tag's also work best when they feature rivalries and everyone had a reason to hate each other in this one. This was a great action packed match and took us nicely into the main event and also set up the first ever Futureshock Cage match in August!! Couldn't have asked for more.

Futureshock Championship Match:Jack Gallagher © def Mikey Whiplash

What a main event, it easily exceeded expectations and it was even better then their bout back in 2011. It just built and built to an huge climax where neither man could put the other way with their finishing moves. It even had some totally unexpected moments when a Tope to the outside caused both men to wind up in the front row!! Both men played babyface even if some kids kept giving Mikey grief which was funny. It was like Triple H vs Undertaker from Mania 28 if that had been a grround based wrestling match. The finish saw the reaction of the night which was rather fitting, I couldn't think of a better match to finish the show.

Dave Rayne and Jack Gallagher paid their respects to Dom to close the show, a fitting tribute.
